View Full Details of Franklin HouseMy father-in-law was taken into Franklin House because he could no longer look after himself. What a brilliant place. He was well looked after. Clean and very friendly. Not only did they help him but also took time out to help us. Every time we visited him, he would always say he liked it in there. All the staff are hard-working and friendly.
I moved into Franklin House in 2012. The staff are excellent. The home is very friendly, the entertainment is fantastic, we always have a good time and a sing-along. The staff take me out when I want to go for a curry. I would not want to live anywhere else.
Food could be more varied. Carers are friendly, caring and value dignity. Management is approachable and helpful. Nail care could be improved. Franklin House is very good at providing activities of different varieties for stimulation and social.
Both my parents have, on separate occasions, been residents here. The manager and her staff are brilliant with all the residents and are friendly and helpful with the relatives. It is always clean and tidy as are the residents. Mum has settled in really well and I am relieved that she is being looked after, well fed and made to feel relaxed at all times. Nothing is too much trouble. They do all they can to help. I would certainly recommend it to anyone who needs care.
Nice home. Friendly environment and clean. Always somebody around if you need to talk.
My mother was in Franklin House for eight years and in all that time she was treated with the utmost respect and made to feel that it was her real home. I would have no hesitation in recommending Franklin House to anyone looking for a safe clean place for a member of their family.
I have been a resident of Franklin House for 6 months on admission I was unkempt, bewildered and treated all with suspicion. Within a couple of days through the attitude of the carers, I felt settled in. The staff were courteous, friendly and treated me with respect. All routines and procedures were explained to me clearly. The rooms were clean and tidy and the food was healthy. I have thrived due to the caring nature of all the workers and I thank them from the bottom of my heart.
Mum was a resident at Franklin House from May 2014 to October 2017 and her needs changed during this time. Franklin House was always able to manage mum's needs and went out of their way to do so even when her care became complex. The staff were kind, friendly, helpful, caring and supportive. They were very well trained and supported by the fantastic manager and deputy manager. Every challenge they faced was met with a sense of humour and a genuine wish to help.
My relation has been at Franklin House for almost six years and I can honestly say, she is well cared for. This gives me peace of mind because I know if there is anything out of the ordinary with her, they will be in contact with me. If she could speak, I think she would say that she is settled there. Both management and staff are very efficient.
I am very impressed with the place and all the staff treat the residents with dignity. The management also let you know if you need money to have her hair done. Overall, I would be most likely to recommend the place to friends and it is also value for money.
My mother has been a resident for ten years and for the last four years has suffered from severe dementia and has been bed bound. No communication is possible. Throughout, her care has been very good/excellent. The premises are quite old-fashioned and furniture and decorations need upgrading but care is the key and there are no complaints on this score. The home has very recently changed ownership and it needs to be seen that standards are kept up given this.
Treated with dignity and love during the whole time that my lovely mum was a resident there. The staff became like members of our extended family and really cared for mum. Made her laugh and more importantly, kept her warm, safe and happy. I would recommend the home even though my mum has now passed away, says it all really.
I have been involved with Franklin House since my mother in law was placed there as a resident in December 2014. in November 2015 my aunt (mother in law's sister) was also placed here, both suffering from dementia. Staff treated them and us like members of their family. Franklin House is not only a care home, it is a home that cares. My mother in law passed away in April 2016 and my aunt in June 2017, 96 and 95 respectively. They were treated with absolute dignity and cared for until the very last moments of their lives and we were treated with compassion and understanding. I and my husband still visit the home to see staff and residents and are treated like part of a happy family.
My mother has been a resident for over 12 months. During her time at Franklin House, she has been well looked after. The staff are caring and give an exceptional service in caring for residents. I hope the new owners will also continue to provide as good as care.
Overall I was very satisfied with the care my mother received. The staff were friendly, patient and worked very hard, sometimes under enormous pressure. The home was clean and my mother was always treated with dignity and respect. As she became more ill, her needs changed and the staff looked after her well, sometimes in very difficult circumstances. I would not hesitate to recommend.
The care my brother has received at the home is extremely good, all the staff are very efficient, helpful and motivated. It is also very clean and the food is of a very good standard. Also, it is nice to be able to take him in the garden for some fresh air and a chat. I would be happy to recommend this care home to anyone.
My father-in-law was a resident, he passed away in October 2017, the staff and management here are excellent, providing exceptional standards of care and support, not just to residents but also family. I would recommend Franklin House to others. Since my father-in-law passed away, I also volunteer on a monthly basis.
On my mother having to go into a home, I was very apprehensive about nursing homes, but I can honestly say Franklin House and staff and management have really changed the way I view nursing homes. This is a great home and we are very lucky. Mother has come on a great deal since she went in there only hope the new owners don't change too many things.
Franklin House is an excellent care home and the carers, management and all staff treat the residents with love and respect. It is a 'family' unit with the emphasis on top rate care, understanding of patient's mental and physical needs and provides a friendly, cheerful atmosphere in which the residents live. Good humour from all the staff is key to lots of smiles and happiness from the residents. Entertainment is varied and enjoyed by all residents. Activities are plentiful for the more able-bodied and excursions are varied. I cannot praise enough all who work at Franklin House.
Franklin House is a very friendly care home based in Oldham. My dad is currently there, he seems much better and has thrived since going in the care home. He is much happier and looks well. My dad is happier around people and on the 4th April there was a singer performer. He was absolutely brilliant. He interacted with the residents and they were all singing and clapping and making them laugh, he was very entertaining. I have not seen my dad as happy for a long time.
