View Full Details of Half Acre House Residential Care HomeMum has been there for about 6 months now and we are so pleased and lucky that they were able to accommodate her. Coming from independent living she was nervous and unsure about the move, but with dementia and frailty there was no option. She's also not the easiest of people to deal with, partly from her illness and age, but also because she misses dad so much. Thankfully the staff and care home have been so patient, kind and compassionate that we know she's in a safe place and well looked after. Every time I go there the staff are very welcoming, know who I am there to see, and know exactly where mum is. It's also reassuring to see the same staff there, always a sign of a good employer and well managed home. They give the residents plenty of stimulation and entertainment, but are still sensitive to their specific need and moods, which change daily (hourly!). It really is a caring home, and gives peace of mind that my mum is safe and cared for.
Amazing place and everyone that works there goes the extra mile to look after and care for all those in the home. They make every occasion a special one and they deserve all the praise all the families can give. Well done to all the staff and management for making this a special place for all those who they care for.
All the staff are amazing. Going out of their way everyday to make the residents feel like they are home. Well cared for and loved. They ensure all residents take part in every day activities which there are many. We couldn't wish for a better home for our mum. The staff are like our extended family.
All the staff go above and beyond. They know my Dad and his likes and dislikes. The care given to my Dad on return from being an inpatient, basically saved his life. The love, care and compassion shown by the staff towards our relatives, is a huge comfort to us. The food always looks delicious, the entertainment is appropriate and engaging, it just an outstanding care home.
My Mum had been a resident of Half Acre for nearly five years and the care she received, as her Alzheimers disease worsened, was excellent. Her health, unfortunately, started to deteriorate at the end of November and she needed an ever-increasing amount of help and care. As has always been the case, the staff at Half Acre did everything they could to help Mum be as comfortable as possible in what turned out to be her last few weeks with us. Their support of residents' families is just as important and they did everything they could to help my sister and myself. I have recommended many people to Half Acre when a loved one has come to need care and I will continue to do so. It is a family business that treats its residents and their relatives as part of that 'family'.
My dad moved into Half Acre House on 6th January. He had been in a temporary care home since November which was not a great experience and he went downhill fast. The difference this home has made to him is unbelievable. My dad has dementia but we've got more of him back than we could have ever hoped for. The staff are so caring and it is a pleasure to visit him. We are always made welcome abd they always have an update about Dad. I cannot recommend it highly enough.
I cannot express the comfort it brings me to know that my mother is in such a good place. I live hundreds of miles away so visits are few. Telephone calls are always answered with a pleasant voice and nothing is too much trouble. All staff are friendly and accommodating. Most of all my mother is happy there
Half Acre House is the most welcoming home from home to both new residents feeling vulnerable and sometimes confused and the family visiting that relative. Through the care, patience and love staff provide, my mum became comfortable and relaxed in a relatively short time. She now enjoys the varied and daily activities and the visitors ie, musicians, nursery children, animals, such a variety. The staff are so innovative with the programme of events in house, they are remarkable bunch of ladies who wholeheartedly put their all into their work, thank you so very much.
