View Full Details of Heywood Court Care HomeEveryone at Heywood Court Care Home provide exemplary care and consideration to residents and also, which is equally commendable, to each other. Residents also help and engage other residents, which is good to see.
My mum has been at Heywood Court for nearly 3 years. The staff are amazing with her. Her behaviour at times is challenging but the staff are clearly well trained and use strategies to support her and are amazing. We can't thank all of the staff enough. As well as caring for my mum in such a kind and compassionate manner staff also are extremely supportive of family members who are at times dealing with the slow loss of a loved one due to the "long goodbye" which is brought about by dementia. Mum is always clean, has regular drinks, is well fed and is happy at the home.
Heywood Court has been Mum's home for nearly two years and she is settled and very happy there. My brother and I have decorated Mum's room to her taste, a warm and cosy environment with family photos and teddy bears. Mum loves her music and dancing, a bit of a rock chick in her younger years. She likes to pop into the office to chat and enjoys eating chocolates with the team. All the staff have been very kind, and supportive of all our needs, especially mums. They really do care and want the best for all their residents. So, a big thank you to you all!
Since being in Heywood Court, Mum has been settled and always appears comfortable. She enjoys the company of the other residents and has an affection for the staff. It's never an issue to either come in to see her or to take her out.
My dad passed away last Summer (August 2023) and our first concern was my Mum's health and care, which we sorted with lots of Doctor's and Hospital visits. The secondary was to find a very good care home that could cater for her dementia. Whilst she is only 69 and still very nimble on her feet and still very funny, we and professionals knew she needed specialist care. We looked all over and then found Heywood Court. Absolutely brilliant. Look after my Mum, keep her entertained, engage with us, health and council professionals all the time. I wish she didn't have to be in a care home but she does and you do hear horror stories. At times she is not happy, but she was like that living with us for a bit and we live in a vicarage. We take her for meals and whilst my Mum has deprivation of Liberty, the care home lets us take Mum for meals and days out. She cries when we get back but then sees the staff and other residents and hugs everyone and is happy within minutes. Great place!
My mum has been at the care home for over two years. She has the onset of dementia and was struggling to cope when she was living by herself. I cannot praise the staff enough, they go above and beyond to care for her which puts my mind at ease. On the downside the building could do with a refurbishment and the lift is often out of order. It's a pity there isn't a minibus so that the residents could be taken out every now and then.
I would like to start by saying that when we were looking for a care home we called here and the manager was more than happy to show us around (open book). He showed us around and there were 2 rooms available at the time. We chose 1 and took it from there, we were allowed to decorate and furnish the room ready for my relative to move into, this was back in December 2023. Since my relative has been a resident here he has gained weight been extremely settled, and happier in himself and for us this means a lot. The staff are absolutely brilliant and nothing is too much trouble and are always happy in their work, they have always been on the ball with communication if my relative has had a fall or any doctors or hospital appointments. If you are looking for a care home that is caring and compassionate I would highly recommend Haywood Court
My ex-partner was in a home in St Helens. Having made a transfer to Morton in Heywood Court. He has come on in leaps and bounds and is so much more happier here. The staff are very very welcoming and really friendly and nothing is too much trouble for each and every one of them, right down to the manager. I am much more settled within myself knowing my ex-partner has the care he has surrounded about himself. He is safe and very well looked after. Nothing is too much trouble for the attentive staff. Always pleasant and smiley. They make a great brew as well. Thank you so much to Morton for peace of mind. 100% faultless.
I'm very disgusted with this home. Mum received no quality care and was only bathed 3 times in the 4 weeks she was there. They kept putting her to bed at 6.30 with her false teeth and hearing aids still in, left her with a faulty beeping airbed for 5 days, and refused to call a doctor out so now mum has a water infection. An ambulance was called to mum twice in 4 weeks for a fall so not looking after her properly. No activities or stimulation even though all the residents have Alzheimer's or dementia. The place was filthy dirty and smelled horrible, clothes went missing all the time. Mum came out of there with multiple cuts and bruises. The management and deputy manager are a total waste of time. Most of the residents have some sort of cuts and bruises, quite a lot of them are quite severe
I am very happy with the care my husband gets at Heywood Court. He has come on great since being here. All the staff are so helpful from management to the laundry ladies and cleaners. All care staff are really good with him. So pleased we found such a great home.
I find that my mum has settled in very well. The improvement in her is amazing. I get to spend quality time with her now which was missing when she was at home. Although she has declined with the Alzheimer's I find it easier to cope with as I know she is safe and cared for. She has better quality of life and gets on with all the staff.
My nan moved here last year, and as soon as she settled, we saw huge improvements in her happiness and quality of life. The whole staff at Heywood Court has been excellent, going above and beyond to accommodate my nan's needs. Everyone is kind and helpful with diligent attention to care. 10/10.
Ok. Very satisfied, not a lot else to say.
I have found staff and management very helpful and caring.
Overall the staff have been excellent with my brother, he is clean and tidy and is eating all his food that is put in front of him. Looking better every week, I cannot thank the staff enough who are looking after him. He had let himself go due to dementia but the staff ate getting him back on track with dedication from the staff.
Since my aunts admission to Heywood Court Care Home she has been very settled and appears happy. The staff are very helpful and nothing is too much trouble. She is much happier here than the last home she was in.
The experience, on the whole, has been satisfactory. The staff work very hard to please but I think they need more carers. They don't seem to have enough time to do their job to a better standard. My wife is getting good care and is fed well and has plenty of drinks available.
Heywood Court is the best place for my father in relation to his needs. He is very settled there and has freedom to do as he pleases. He looks smart and healthy and his mood overall has improved. The staff are kind and accomodating. You can visit anytime in compliance with Covid rules. After visiting my father, we can rest assured that he is in safe hands and all aspects of his wellbeing are provided for here. I recommend this placement for anyone with a relative who has dementia.
The registered manager and staff team at Heywood Court Care Home were exemplary in the care and support my father received while a resident. They take time to get to know and understand the needs of residents and work with them in a way that gets the best out of them.
Heywood Court Care Home has provided a high standard of care to my mum over the last 4 years. During this time her needs have increased but the staff are so patient and caring, ensuring she is well looked after and always informing me if there are any concerns. She enjoys her food and there is a great deal of variety on the menus. Activities are organised and are available to those who want to take part. The home is clean and welcoming. I have no hesitation in recommending Heywood Court.
