View Full Details of The LaurelsNow The Laurels it is warm, friendly and like one big family. Every one of the staff is very aware of the residents individually and their needs. They are well cared for in all aspects and this has been instrumental in my husband settling in so well. I thought no one could look after him like me but all at The Laurels do and I can step back and be his wife and not carer. A huge thank you to all.
This care home is just wonderful. Under new ownership/management over last 12 months and it really shows. Management muck in with all aspects as and when needed. The care and support my Mum receives is exceptional. Always treated with respect and dignity and the care given is personalised to my Mum as an individual. Staff are a credit to the home. Mum is always clean and presentable, as is the environment. There has been a massive improvement over the last 12 months and still ongoing. Entertainment and activities are plentiful and staff really get the residents involved. Food is lovely. Communication with family is excellent. So glad my Mum lives here, so warm, caring, safe and homely. You all do such a great job, a big thank you to every single one of you.
Although I could only choose one month that this review relates to, it actually covers almost 4 years. The care home under original ownership was acceptable most of the time but I didn't know any different however, since the new ownership and management, replacement of some staff and bringing in new staff, this place has come on leaps and bounds. It really is like night and day. Everyone I have come across is doing an incredible job and are always welcoming and supportive and it feels like they are doing the job for the right reasons. They genuinely do care. I am more than happy for my Mam to be on their safe hands. Keep up the fantastic work
Since the present management took over The Laurels a year ago the home has really become a wonderful place for my mum to live .We as a family have since huge improvements in care of mum and fabulous support and communication from the manager. The care staff are really helpful and listen to any questions we ask they really do the best they can in regards to not only mum's wellbeing but all residents . Nothing is too much for management and staff any worries or queries are answered very quickly with kindness support and reassurance . The laurels is unlike any other care home I've had the experience of knowing .The Laurels is a home from home .Residents are encouraged to be as independent as possible and are kept occupied and mobile well dressed clean and with a good healthy diet .All residents birthdays are celebrated and The Laurels even provide a birthday cake for all to celebrate.Christmas was amazing with all residents receiving individual gifts from the home and a fabulous dinner .
I cannot express how wonderful this care home is, 3rd one my mum was placed in and one word 'outstanding". The staff are brilliant with my mum, treat her as a person and care for her 24/7. The home itself has improved massively over the past 12 months, there are lots of activities, entertainment and even trips out. Thank you doesn't seem enough, I don't ever worry about mum being looked after properly as the staff are second to none.
Holly Court is a very good care home. I'm glad my family member lives here. Of course, it isn't perfect and I'm sure no care home is. The staff are very caring and do a great job under difficult circumstances, looking after residents with differing conditions and needs. Everyone is always smiling, and the residents are settled and relaxed. The staff carefully administer medication where prescribed and keep in close contact with outside health professionals whom visit regularly, either routinely or when required. I recommend Holly Court for residents with dementia.
This place, I say place because it is definitely not a care home. Because my mother was unfortunately put in there by social workers, she had dementia and very quickly declined. she was covered in bruises on her body and two black eyes which the staff said "she'd fell". The staff were rude and didn't seem to bother with any of the residents and at meal times the food was just left by the side of residents During lockdown and when Covid started my mum isolated herself in her flat for all of lockdown, but during her very short stay at holy court she got Covid. My mum ended up in hospital, ill with Covid and very, very underweight and dehydrated. I went to that place (the Hollies) because they refused to give us her belongings back. When I went on the floors, none of the staff were wearing PPE, so no wonder Covid went through the place and my mother ended up in hospital where she passed away but thank the lord she passed in hospital and not in that dump Holly Court.
My mum has now been a resident at Holly Court Care Home since August last year, all I can say is I am so very happy I chose this care home for my mum. I cannot complain about anything. the care and love my mum receives is amazing. The manager is so lovely and does a great job for the home and as well all of the staff.
Very happy with the way my husband is being cared for. You are all amazing.
The care home is spotlessly clean. All bedding plentifully and clean. The whole of the nursing team very friendly, helpful, nothing too much bother, very knowledgable when questions asked. Very quick to offer drinks and biscuits. Diet for my family member was excellent, hot and served in residents private room or lovely lounge. Meal times in lounge prohibited visitors. I would definitely choose here again.
Staff treat residents with care and dignity at all times. They try to make it feel like their home. They will always do their best for them. Their clothes are looked after and everyone always looks clean and well cared for. You are always kept up to date with any information concerning their health. A well-loved environment. Thanks to all staff for what you all do. Well done.
A very proactive, professional, friendly care home. All staff are caring and respectful to residents; the management regularly organises a number of activities on a regular basis. During the lockdown, all the necessary precautions are observed but they still managed to arrange VE Day celebrations and other entertainments. They have been virus free throughout, which is an amazing achievement. The residents are very well kept clean, comfortable and happy. There are entertainments and activities on a regular basis to keep the residents engaged and amused; they and the staff join in all the activities and thoroughly enjoy it. This is a very unusual home; the level of care is exceptional, and the building is spotlessly clean and very welcoming to all visitors.
My aunt has been in there for several years now. The staff have been amazing and taken care of her despite many challenges. They do there best to bring joy and fun to any event with the residents at the forefront of everything. The last Christmas party was a true family affair with contributions from many residents, relatives and an amazing organised party from the home. The grotto put together was nothing short of amazing and even staff who were off duty came to take part. Special mention to one staff member, she is one of the most patient, caring, compassionate staff members and keeps smiling through everything, her positivity and empathy is a true credit to her and the home.
All staff in the home are welcoming and friendly. It is a small home and this makes such a difference as the staff treat the patients like it’s their home too and they are one big family. The home is clean and smells clean. The food is freshly prepared and has a good wide choice. The patients are free to wander wherever they wish to do so. The entertainment is awesome and meets the needs of Mum. Singing, dancing, arts and crafts, picnics, pamper days and celebrating occasions. Additionally, the team bring the patients together in the afternoon for tea and biscuits. The staff keep a watchful eye on all patents. The manager runs a tight ship in relation to how she wants her home to be, yet her team seem so happy to work there, meaning she treats and respects them well. She too participates in the entertainment with the residents. During lockdown, the team have gone above and beyond to ensure that family can see the happenings within the home by Facebook.
The staff are friendly, they have provided excellent care to my grandma, for which I could not thank them enough. How they have got my grandma back in great spirits is amazing. At this difficult time, they have made sure that families can stay connected to loved ones. Thank you to all the staff for the amazing job you are all doing.
I would recommend Holly Court Care Home. My mum is in there and she looks absolutely brilliant. The staff are fantastic and are doing a fabulous job looking after her. My mum is very happy just like she used to be even though Mum suffers with dementia. I can’t fault any of the staff at all, they should be very proud of how happy they make my mum and everyone else in there. It’s a great environment to live in, own rooms, toilet in bedroom, proper food and great care. I’m so pleased I put Mum in here because now Mum can be herself with the friends she has made in there. Keep up the great work guys, I don’t need to worry while this lockdown is on. I see what Mums been up to through pictures and videos the girls put on the family page. I love this place and wouldn’t want my mum anywhere else.
Holly Court has been a God send to the family. Most staff are helpful and good at looking after the resident. On the other hand, there are a minority that are not as attentive as they should be. The place is kept clean and has a good atmosphere. Christmas was exceptional all the families were invited in with the children. It's was a brilliant day and the children seemed to enjoy it.
My aunty has been with Holly Court for a number of years. We have always been happy in the knowledge she has been well cared for. Anything we have brought to the attention of the carers or management team has been dealt with quickly and professionally and always with my aunt's interest in mind. I would recommend Holly Court to anyone else looking for a care home, they seem to be a team of people who are striving to do the best for their residents and giving the care home a family and friendly feel. Just one thing to confirm; this was the Christmas party for their residents. They had real donkeys and reindeer with Father Christmas and best of all was the fun the residents and their families had, with smiles all around.
Great staff and manager.
My mother-in-law has settled into the home brilliantly, she is much happier here, after being in two others that we're unable to meet her needs. The staff are brilliant from the manager, carers, cleaners and caterers. Food is good and it has a lovely welcoming from the receptionist. My mother-in-law looks smart, and always has a clean change of clothes when we go. Cannot praise this home enough. Thank you all.
