View Full Details of Wentworth HouseOne of the hardest decisions I've had to make - but one of the best. Wentworth House was recommended to me by a former community nurse as the best residential care home for my father who suffers from dementia. Dad has been a resident now for 18 months. He is generally settled and happy and I am confident that he is in the best place. The staff have taken time to get to know him and are attentive and caring. A recent change in ownership has resulted in continuing improvements, including efforts to increase staffing levels.
My mum has been looked after here since May 2014. The care and love she has been shown is outstanding and they are like her second family. The home is clean, warm and very friendly and staff are excellent. Food is good. Mum enjoys living here although she hated losing her independence she has settled in very well. It is a very well run home from top to bottom.
Mum has been a resident at Wentworth House for just over 3 months now and although she is still settling in, so far so good. Mum has mixed dementia and needs a lot of stimulation which Wentworth offers in abundance. With lockdown, Mum's condition worsened considerably and so after a successful period of respite in another care home, we took the decision as a family to find permanent care. Wentworth came highly recommended by an extended family member and social worker. We have found the staff and manager so helpful, caring and supportive to both Mum and her needs as well as ours as a family. We’ve not had a chance to visit mum inside due to Covid rules but as others have commented the daily updates and pictures on Facebook really help and our phone calls to help keep in touch.
Mum has been a resident for 6 years, the care she has received has been exceptional by all the caregivers working there. She is well cared for and all her needs are met (apart from family unable to visit due to Covid) we have had a couple of visits through the window and staff have accommodated this. Food is plentiful and nutritious. We as a family would recommend this care home.
The staff have been very professional, caring and friendly while my Mother has been in residence over the past 2 years. I and my family were always made to feel welcome and supported when visiting. They were very proactive in keeping all there residents safe from the COVID virus by locking down at a very early stage in the beginning of the pandemic before most other places and I would like to thank them immensely for the updates that they have put on social media regarding her health and well being. It has also been rewarding for me, that photos and videos of my Mother are shared during this lockdown too, which is something I will always be able to treasure and cherish. My Mother always looked comfortable and happy in a very safe and caring environment.
Mum has been resident for almost 3 years, having Dementia and Alzheimer's. She moved in after being unable to cope at home. Almost from the moment she arrived the improvement in her was apparent. The staff were really friendly and made her so welcome. They took time to help her settle and help my sister and I come to terms with Mum going into residential care. It has been my experience that all the staff are always professional and caring. They display empathy and understanding and the care is certainly person-centred. Mum always looks well cared for whenever I visit or more recently look at the Facebook updates there are always activities going on to keep her mind stimulated. I really appreciated the video call on her birthday and the effort the staff had put in to celebrate with her. I cannot thank the staff enough for what they do and I am so grateful to them for keeping her safe and well during these difficult times.
My mum was in and out of hospital before she went to Wentworth House. Since being in Wentworth House, she has gained a new lease of life. It is great to see her happy, healthy and well looked after. Thank you.
Uncle had been in another Care Home from hospital for continuing care and review. He was assessed for 24-hour care, at which time we had to search for a suitable care home for his needs. Having visited and reviewed many care homes in the Salford area, we put his name on the waiting list for Wentworth House. We found that the atmosphere in this Care Home, together with the management and staff was far superior to all the others which we visited. And we are so pleased to say that it has lived up to all our expectations. And most especially during this very difficult time. Although we have not been allowed to visit Uncle, we are kept up to date with all the activities, birthdays etc. by the photos on the Wentworth House Facebook Page. He has settled so well, has put weight on and looks to be so well compared to when was admitted. And he is smiling a lot more by joining in all the activities - especially Dominoes! - Previously he never left his room. A big thank you!
Our mum was a resident at Wentworth House for 8.5 years, she was admitted as she was suffering from Alzheimer's and was unable to live at home any longer. The home was recommended to us and she was very happy there. Whilst she was there she received excellent care at all times, as time went on she was unable to do very little without aid so there was always a member of staff to help her with care, dignity, respect, and a smile too. It is obvious from the outset that the staff genuinely care for their residents. Some of the staff who were there when mum entered the home are still there now. I would recommend Wentworth House without any hesitation. Thank you to the Management and Staff for taking such good care of mum during her time with you. xx
Mum has been a resident at Wentworth House for over 4 years, during which time she has received excellent care from the management team and carers. The staff are respectful, but even when Mum can be a bit awkward they know that they can be firm and use humour to bring her round. She has a bright airy room where she is happy to spend most of the day in.
My mum is very comfortable at Wentworth House. The staff are extremely caring and very attentive to her needs. She is very deaf but they always make themselves understood. The staff are also fun and make mum laugh. She is very safe and her medicines are given to her accurately. The food is well-cooked and varied. The home is always immaculate and her bedroom and ensuite kept especially clean and tidy. We are delighted with the home and so is my mum.
My Aunt is very happy in this home where she is treated with cheerful respect. The management and staff are really caring and I have 100% confidence in them.
I am very impressed by the standard of care at Wentworth House. There is always a very cheerful atmosphere and all the staff appear committed to doing their best for the residents. Clearly, this is being led from the 'top'. The owner/managers do not spend their time hiding in their offices, they are always about working alongside the staff.
One of the most welcoming places I've ever been. The decision to place our nanna in a care home was difficult and at a traumatic time for our family as our mum was ill too. Wentworth house always kept our nanna's needs first but supported us too. The staff were so kind, caring & understanding. It is an excellent place. Thank-you for looking after my nanna so well & giving her the dignity & respect she deserved.
Wentworth House takes very good care of our Mum who is 88 and been a resident for 10 years now after having a stroke which has badly affected all her left side. It's really good to know that she's in safe hands and cared for. Mum has good and bad days and we know she can be stubborn and some days she can't be bothered to get up and get dressed. All the staff are friendly but three of them are particularly excellent at encouraging Mum but also know when to leave her to rest or when it's time to call for medical help.
Wentworth House is an amazing place. My mother has been here 4 years and in the 4 years staff have been wonderful, her care has been the best. If anybody needed a care home Wentworth House is the place to go.
Wentworth House is a wonderful place. At the most difficult time in our lives, Wentworth House gave mum and dad the most wonderful care and attention and without their added love, care, and compassion for us we would not have got through !! Thank you to the wonderful Management and Staff xxxx
When the family couldn't cope with the demands of age dementia and other illness, the lovely staff and owners at Wentworth House became a second family. AMAZING!!! The management employs wonderfull staff that really do understand and care, as they do themselves. NOTHING was too much trouble. My background is in pharmacy ownership, and we dealt with many homes. The standard of care offered at Wentworth House is very difficult to find.
My mother was a resident here for 6 years. She was very happy here and I had peace of mind in knowing she was well cared for. She made friends and enjoyed playing dominoes with them. She had a stroke in July and the staff very quickly got an ambulance and ensured she was kept calm and safe until it arrived. Sadly she died in September but I will always be grateful for the care and compassion she received from the wonderful staff here.
