View Full Details of Abbeyfield House BramhallOur mother moved in to Abbeyfield in Bramhall mid June as she could no longer live safely in her own home. The staff were all very welcoming and did their best and continue to do their best to make her feel at home. The atmosphere is friendly and warm. Nothing is too much trouble and Mum and all our family are supported with kindness and professionalism at all times. We feel very fortunate to have found such a place where Mum's wellbeing is paramount.
I have visited many care homes over many years in South London, Yorkshire and this area to visit family and friends. Without a shadow of a doubt, this is by far the best one I have ever been to. For me, it's a joy to visit my friend as I know she is getting the best care ever. This is down to the manager and all the staff. This care home is not just excellent it is outstanding. To finish, I would like to say that all care homes should be run like this one.
There are no words to convey the excellent care my father had at Abbeyfield Nursing Home. He had 2.5 wonderful years here. Every staff member was caring and considerate of Dad's needs. As a family we felt like we were walking into our own home with everyone welcoming. The end-of-life care was exceptional and it was nice to meet not only the day staff but night staff who all have a good rapport with the residents. Thank you for making the last few days calm and peaceful.
My father has settled in so well at Abbeyfield House and it's all credit to the wonderful staff and the lovely and very homely atmosphere. It's been a huge relief for me as he's so happy and fulfilled. He's made friends and he really enjoys the activities, the food, chatting to the staff and life in general at Abbeyfield. I couldn't be happier - very grateful!
The care our auntie receives from all the staff at Abbeyfield House is five-star, nothing is too much trouble. If we ever have any worries, there is always someone on hand to have a chat with. The care home is very clean, the food looks lovely and varied. Always music, the TV or entertainment happening but also quiet areas if you fancy a snooze. We all feel relieved and happy knowing our auntie is safe, being treated with dignity and all her needs are being met. This is our second family member over the last fifteen years we've had living at Abbeyfield and that says it all. Thank you to the manager and the whole team, keep up the amazing work.
Abbeyfield is a lovely small personal home, which stood out as exceptional against many others we visited while deciding on a place for my mother. It is extremely clean and tidy and bathrooms and toilets are maintained to a high standard. Staff are friendly, attentive and very welcoming and quickly learnt about Mum's needs. They have dealt with all medical issues effectively and efficiently. There is good communication, which is a blessing as I live 200 miles away. We were encouraged to personalise Mum's room with both furniture and keepsakes. The activities co-ordinator has worked hard to engage Mum and kitchen staff are extremely flexible and also work hard to provide alternatives to encourage Mum to eat. All in all, Abbeyfield is a very special place where I feel reassured and comfortable leaving her when I am not there.
My mum is new to Abbeyfield. She has settled so well. She appreciates all the staff's input. There are plenty of activities for the residents to do. My mum had a significant birthday in June. The staff made a big fuss of her, with decorations, a homemade cake and her choice of meal. My mum sparkles under the care of all the staff at Abbeyfield. They are very professional. I have no need to worry about my mum, in her new home.
I can’t tell you what wonderful care and love my Mama received in six years at Abbeyfield. The care and love and attention she received was unbelievable. The home was always spotless. The staff were always smiling, helpful and supportive. My mama received love & care as you would give to your own family member. And all the staff there became our family. If you're lucky enough to get a place here for your loved one well you’ve hit the jackpot! I cannot speak highly enough of the professionalism and love she received. And the fun she had. We were a family who was visiting Mum most days and sometimes nights. So we had really true ideas of how Abbeyfield performed. We cannot thank you enough for making this last part of Mum's life so unforgettable. Thank you from the bottom of our hearts. You did a great job every single one of you.
Our mum was very fortunate to get a place here in December 2023. She is so well cared for. All the staff treat her with kindness dignity and respect. Nothing is too much trouble for them. She is thriving and happy with the loving care she receives from her Abbeyfield Bramhall family. We are so grateful for everything you do for Mum and the kindness and support you give to us as a family. Thank you!
Absolutely wonderful staff! They are so caring, friendly and professional. They all seem very happy, as do the residents, which gives the home a very happy and friendly feeling. Everyone made Mum feel very welcome and part of the “family” when she arrived.
The staff at Abbeyfields are always friendly and helpful. They have a real concern about meeting and reviewing my mother’s needs. Abbeyfield has a very friendly homely feel and the staff work hard to make it a real home for the residents. There are also lots of events and activities for residents to enjoy. I feel confident that my mum is in a warm friendly safe environment.
The care Abbeyfield provide for my mum is magnificent, the kindness, care and love are tremendous and nothing is too much trouble. My mum has been there for nearly 6 years, we have been through a lot and Abbeyfield has given us as a family, total support. We have just celebrated Mum's 95th birthday with 2 parties because you can when you are 95. The staff, I can’t fault at all.
Such amazing staff that deserve to be paid their weight in gold. I feel lucky my family friend has a room at Bramhall. Both my Mother and Aunty experienced end-of-life care in previous years and it was excellent.
The staff are extremely caring, compassionate and responsive to Mum’s needs and wishes. Mum speaks positively about the carers and how they look after her. We are very grateful for the care received over the last five years.
The care home is very well-maintained. The staff are friendly and very efficient. The facilities are good. There is a beautiful garden, where residents can relax and enjoy the outside atmosphere. Overall, it is a nice place for the residents to be cared for.
All the staff and the facilities are brilliant and I’m entirely satisfied with the care my dad is receiving. My only observation is that there has been a need to use agency personnel. Can I suggest that Abbeyfield review the pay to permanent staff so that their rate is at least 10% above market figures. This should assist recruitment and retention.
Mum first moved into Abbeyfield House Bramhall in February 2023 and settled in almost immediately, thanks to the care and attention given to her by the wonderful staff. She now regards Abbeyfield as her home and is very happy there. Transitioning from living independently into a full-time care setting is not easy, particularly for the family, but Mum's move has been an unparalleled success story! I cannot fault the staff; they are caring, responsive and meet all of Mum's needs. The home is very homely and welcoming; Mum's care has been outstanding and she also feels safe and well cared for. Planned activities are inclusive and appropriate; she has very much enjoyed the gardens in the recent fine weather and also enjoys 'nice natters' with the other residents, especially during mealtimes. Staff have also been so accommodating and welcoming with family members visiting; most importantly of all Tilly, our RSPCA rescue Lurcher, loves the fuss and attention given to her on her many visits!

Abbeyfield in Bramhall is a small home and therefore manages to have a very comfortable atmosphere. The staffing has always been very stable which is good as the residents know all the staff and feel confident with them and they are very approachable. This is also good for relatives as they get to know the staff well. The home has always maintained good cleanliness standards for both the home and the residents themselves.
