View Full Details of Hillbrook GrangeMy 92-year-old sister was a resident for 3 weeks as respite for her carer. The manager and her team were excellent, accommodating my sister at very short notice. I was immediately impressed by the genuine, helpful attention I received when making initial enquiries and upon my sister entering the home. This same attention was evident from all the staff at each of my visits. The meals were excellent and home-cooked, and my sister benefited enormously from these, having suffered from a condition prior to entering the home, which had caused a loss of appetite. The home was warm and welcoming, and its setting in wooded grounds created a very pleasant ambience. I have no hesitation in recommending this home, and I would like to say a grateful thank you to the manager and her staff.
A fine woodland setting close to Bramhall Railway Station. Welcoming friendly staff. First impression of loud piped commercial radio in the reception area. Inappropriate for elderly residents - and visitors! Please discontinue or replace it with a (quieter) classic radio station. Incontinence odour on the ground floor. Lovely light-filled dining room but the board displayed the previous day's menu. Is the evening meal served at 16:00 hours? Too early. Large lounge dominated by ubiquitous TV. Other lounges are available but please provide drink-making facilities in the Coffee Lounge. Library is heaven but books need some shelves or bookcases. The wallpaper depicts pretend shelves! 'This day on previous years' newssheet is a good stimulant for conversation and reminiscences. Some clutter in the communal areas, boxes of incontinence pads? My aunt is happy with her attractive spacious en-suite room.
My mother was a resident for nearly two years. She received excellent care throughout her stay, in all aspects. Mum was treated with dignity, respect and kindness at all times, by all members of staff. The food choices and quality were consistently very good, even when Mum's appetite decreased. Thanks to everyone at Hillbrook Grange, from all the family.
My husband has been in the home for the past 12 months and has been looked after well. There have been ongoing improvements in staff levels and standards. The kindness and thoughtfulness of the Management and all the Staff have been exemplary, thank you so much for all your care.
Mum has been a resident at Hillbrook for over three years now, having entered before the Covid pandemic so she has experienced a lot of changes in that time. Whilst there was a time of concern during the changeover of management I am happy to say that the improvements have been tangible and most welcome. Mum is now well cared for by staff and carers who know her well and understand her needs. If there are issues they are addressed in a timely, caring, honest and professional manner. There are still improvements to be made but that is to be expected. Overall the care she receives is good.
The staff know the residents well and respond to their individual needs in a cheerful and respectful manner. The management listen to any concerns raised and try to resolve any issues. The staff try to stimulate the residents with a variety of activities but I do feel more could be done in this area in particularly making better use of the outdoor area. Fresh air, walking outside regularly, gardening and making it more accessible to all. The gazebo is a fantastic facility but it should be regularly checked for cleanliness.
The staff treat the residents with respect and dignity and are kind and caring. There is a homely atmosphere and the home is always very clean. The food is home made and the residents enjoy being offered a choice at all meal times. The senior team are very approachable.
Friendly staff. Inclusive. Caring. Quick to answer phone. Staff know names of every resident and their foibles. Central to Bramhall. Home like feel. Staff genuinely care for residents. Deputy manager very supportive.
My mother is a resident and it's been and continues to be a struggle. Although I have found the staff to be excellent always helpful. I would recommend to others. I am just not sure that the situation of not being able to use the separate lounge area for visits etc. When I first visited there was a coffee machine and comfortable chairs. I am sure with the winter approaching this would be a good option for my mother's friends. As she is still adapting in many ways I realise there are still restrictions regarding Covid.
My aunt is in a happy and settled environment. She is fond of the carers who take very good care of her. The home is extremely clean and a pleasant place to visit. Overall a happy and caring place in which to place a loved one.
Mum (93) moved to Hillbrook Grange at a challenging time, a) Care Home Covid restrictions b) the home itself engaged in a major service improvement programme. It wasn't a seamless transition but my sister and I are happy to say Mum seems to have settled well into her new home and is happy. We hadn't expected it to be easy as Mum suffers with dementia and has a sight disability. We experienced some early teething problems. Thankfully, the family worked closely with the management team who actively resolved the key areas of concern. We quickly identified the Care Home itself was on a steep continuous improvement journey. We are now pleased to say we have seen significant improvements in the first 5 months. The manager knows the journey is not yet finished. We noted the management team always display a "can-do positive" attitude; they are vastly experienced and know the standard they need to achieve. Service has further been helped by recent recruitment of new permanent staff.
Over the last few months with new leadership we have been overall delighted with the care of our mum. The staff have shown such kindness to Mum who can be challenging at times. They seem to understand Mum, are respectful to her and very professional with the care and standards they give. During such difficult times and restrictions they have tried to accommodate not only our mums needs but those of my aged father too. Communication has been very good, always being informed of changes, needs and incidents, liaising with other professional bodies. We wouldn’t hesitate to recommend Hillbrook Grange and very soon can see my father being a resident there.
Hillbrook provides a well run and safe environment which has become all the more apparent during the current Covid crisis. The bright and airy ambience of the communal areas provides a spacious and comfortable environment from the moment you enter the estate. The standards of hygiene appear to be very high and the level of medical support from the nursing staff is most reassuring. As a relation of a resident, I have always been well received with all the staff being eager to accommodate my enquiries and suggestions.
The home is very clean and the staff are spot on with medication. The staff are very caring and kind. The manager making positive changes. End of life care for mum was perfect couldn't have been better. Safe and warm environment. If any criticism more varied activities to meet the needs of dementia residents and more outings for all the residents. More training needed to nurture residents in taking part in activities.
I have visited Hillbrook Grange weekly for over two years. From stepping inside the front door the excellent ambience meets you. Friendly, caring receptionist, friendly and caring staff. Cleanliness is excellent. No smells hit you in any part of the home. Residents are well presented, with dignity, respect and compassion and are happy. All this presents to me that the home is well led.
Home from home. Professional staff who are always welcoming. A genuine concern and affection for the residents. Clean and tidy communal areas and individual rooms. Food very good.
My father has been at Hillbrook for 5 months. Whilst his room is not en-suite, the bathroom is directly opposite his room and this suits him fine. The staff are really friendly and approachable and nothing is too much trouble. They look after the residents and the family, which is really refreshing after several bad experiences with hosptial staff. I would definitely recommend Hillbrook Grange to others looking for somewhere safe and personable for elderly family members.
Hillbrook Grange is very welcoming. The staff are always friendly and helpful. The facilities are clean and well kept, with a variety of different areas to relax. Residents are treated with kindness, dignity and respect.
This care home has a real heart with very friendly and efficient staff. My mother has been resident for over 12 months and has been extremely well cared for. Lovely gardens for when the sun shines and cosy lounges and bedrooms. I feel Hillbrook is a cut above others and if I have to go in a home Hillbrook will be top of the list!
