View Full Details of Peel Moat Care HomeOverall, this is a good care home. My mum has been resident here for 7.5 years and is happy here. I am mostly happy with her care...the manager is very approachable and always available to speak to, if needed. The majority of the care staff are polite, friendly and kind. I always feel welcome when I visit. Some go the extra mile. The activities team are amazing - they carry out lots of great activities and allow all residents to get involved where they can. This has been particularly good for my mum. It is lovely that they have an accessible jacuzzi bath and a visiting hairdresser. As with all care homes, there are some issues, but these are minor and usually addressed promptly. I have had some issues with my mum's clothes...items going missing, items not hung up in her wardrobe, some incorrect items and sometimes not her clothes have been put on her and photographed and put on Facebook.
The staff were welcoming and everywhere clean and fresh smelling. Residents were having their individual needs met and I heard a staff offer to fetch an item from a resident's room and said "it's no trouble." Staff came to explain about our resident's medical condition. They always make time to listen if you need to share information. Glad we chose Peel Moat it put our minds at rest knowing that our loved one is happy and contented and we did the best we could for them.
My mum has been in Peel Moat over 12 months. She is well cared for and is safe and happy. The staff are resident-focused and very patient. The home provides activities to stimulate the residents which is needed for residents with disabilities and dementia. I would recommend this home to new residents.
I feel that we were extremely lucky for Mum to be offered a placement at Peel Moat Care Home as it offers its residents a peaceful, warm and homely environment to live in. I've always found the staff to be exceptionally kind and compassionate with her, the food is always of a high standard and there is always plenty of tea and coffee available. I would definitely recommend Peel Moat to anyone needing supported living.
Peel Moat is a care home that really cares. The staff are caring and treat the residents with respect. My mother has been here for twelve months and has settled well. Family are allowed to visit at any time and are greeted cheerfully by staff.
My mum has been a resident at Peel Moat Care home for 13 months. She has Dementia, her needs in the home are met perfectly. She is so much happier since the decision was made by myself and my siblings to place her in residential care a decision that wasn't taken lightly. I have just returned home from visiting her. She had a Sunday lunch of salmon with vegetables roast and duchess potatoes followed by a trifle. All food is homemade. Mum's appetite is up and down but is always encouraged to eat her meals by the lovely caring staff too many to mention by name. Mum has six children and as a result lots of visitors. However, each and every one of us is made to feel welcome. I can highly recommend the home.
Peel Moat staff are the most caring people you could hope to meet. The love and consideration shown to my brother has been outstanding over the last 18 months which included some challenging times. I would definitely recommend Peel Moat to anybody looking for a caring environment for their relative. Thank you to the manager and all your team at Peel Moat.
Staff are professional and helpful, giving me the confidence that mother, after two moves, had finally been admitted to a home skilled to care for her complex behaviours and needs. Keeping me informed on her initial settling-in period and updating me during a period of ill health. The management are proactive in referring to other services, ensuring the best care is available for my mother.
The staff at Peel Moat are understanding, friendly, hard-working, attentive and professional. My mother has complex requirements and is always well cared for. My family has no regrets about placing my mother here, and we have no complaints.
Mum has spent her first Christmas at Peel Moat and enjoyed an excellent festive atmosphere with plenty of food and activities. Activities take place throughout the year, reflecting the season or holiday and are very helpful in keeping everyone active and interested. The staff are very caring and extremely helpful in giving updates and support to relatives. The home itself is always clean and seems to have an ongoing programme of redecoration that keeps it looking modern but welcoming. Mum is much happier in this environment than in her flat, where the days are long with little to interest her, and her needs are well met by the staff and management.
We were so worried when we placed Dad here nearly four years ago. It's never easy to make the decision to give up the care of a loved one, but since getting to Peel Moat, my father has flourished! The staff are so accommodating, warm and friendly. They have such a tough job to do, especially during lockdown, which was handled by management and staff brilliantly. I live over 70 miles away, so we don't see him as much as we'd like, but the girls keep in constant contact with us via telephone and email with updates, and the Facebook page is a delight, posting videos of birthdays and Christmas. When we do visit, there is always something going on, from karaoke to bingo, and it melts my heart to see Dad singing and waving his hands in the air. We could not ask for a better substitute family than the staff at Peel Moat, and that is what they are... an extension of our family. We're so blessed that he is in such a caring environment, and we can't thank the staff enough. They are all heroes in our eyes!
I feel really lucky to have found Peel Moat for my mum. We are both very happy with the choice. The staff are just lovely and notably friendly. They really care for her and about her and are so welcoming. Mum's physical and mental health has definitely improved - she speaks very highly of the food - and there is always lots going on, which is good for her even when there are activities she can't really participate in. They have sorted out a few medical things, including instigating a recent diagnosis, and are thoughtful and clear in their communications with me. Any issues/queries are resolved immediately and well. Because it's an old building and relatively small, there are some limitations. However, the atmosphere and comfort make up for this. I like the fact that it's homely. The lounges have just been refurbished and look lovely. Like many people with elderly relatives, this was all a new experience for me, but I am happy I made the right decision.
Had a really lovely visit to Mum's the other day. And had a good laugh with the staff too. Everybody is so friendly at Peel Moat. Deep down I'm so happy that Mum was lucky enough to be placed in such a friendly place a couple of years ago now. You see all sorts on the telly, but I can quite honestly say, here, lay all those worries to bed... the staff cannot do enough to make sure everyone is at their comfiest. They're lovely. And must have to put up with so much. I truly believe you have to be born for this line of work. I most certainly don't think I could have ever coped with Mum without people like this in the world especially now. In fact I know I wouldn't. But they just crack on, making the best of any challenges, big or small. Just amazing. Mum's probably one of those challenges! I can rest assured! In jest. And I just don't think we give these lovely people the highest credit they deserve at times... thank you Peel Moat. From me. And, on her behalf, deep down, Mum.
Very happy with the love and care given to my husband. The food is excellent and they help my husband when he has difficulty eating. Nothing is too much trouble. I prefer to wash shirts and jumpers myself and have a notice in his room stating this. But there is never any of these items there for me. (This is my only complaint!) Otherwise, the care is outstanding.
Always caring, attentive and prepared to go the extra mile! Everything you could wish and hope for in a facility. Would certainly recommend it to anyone wishing to look for a suitable residence. Overall, well satisfied.
The home was very friendly, nothing was too much trouble. The care and attention the residents received was fantastic. The home was very clean and tidy and the food smelled delicious. The care and attention residents received was great to see and the time spent with residents just simply talking. The staff were very friendly and funny, this friendly loving fun environment meant the residents were having fun and a great banter between the staff and residents. The care home manager didn't stay in her office she spent quite some time talking and reminiscing with the residents, helping them remember places they had been and enjoyed.
All the staff are caring and considerate at all times. They treat all residents with dignity and respect. I have been very impressed with the home and the way it is run. My auntie has been well cared for and she has been very happy at Peel Moat.
The staff are very good but when short-staffed, it can't be helped. The staff are helpful and always nice. My husband likes the food, he has been here for over twelve years.
My mum has been in Peel Moat Care Home for over four and a half years. The staff are always cheerful and professional. If they have any concerns we are informed by phone. Plenty of activities throughout the week to keep residents activate. Photos are put on social media so you can see how they are going, lovely to see.
I am very happy with the care that my father receives at Peel Moat Care Home. The staff look after him well, are attentive to his needs and he is very happy there. I feel that he is treated as an individual. The Activities Coordinator is brilliant.
