View Full Details of WellcroftWellcroft is a bright well care home and the staff seem to make a considerable effort to treat the residents with respect and affection.
Have dealt very professionally with a couple of issues we have raised over the last 12 months. A particular staff member has been fantastic and very supportive in helping my Mum deal with her mobility deteriorating. I feel my Mum is safe in the care home.
Absolutely great service from all staff. I would recommend people put this place as their first choice. The food is excellent, the residents have plenty of snacks, tea and coffee in between meals and when families are visiting they are offered drinks and snacks. I can't praise the staff enough.
My mum seems as happy as she can be. The carers are friendly, understand my mum's needs and are attentive to those and and are open to me asking a couple of questions now and again. I also like the way Wellcroft do a little a bit extra for things such as recently for Halloween. I understand security is very important, but I wish there was an easier way to get in/out of the building when I visit as sometimes I may be waiting for up to 10 minutes; however I do understand staff are busy and that I tend to call in early evenings when there is less staff about (an idea might be individual passcodes for frequent visitors such as myself, whereby you'd also know when I arrived/left). On the non-care admin side, appreciation to a staff member for her timely assistance when needed.
Since Mum moved into the home in August the care she has received has been good. The staff deserve medals for the job that they do. Our only area of concern is that Mum doesn’t always get the one-to-one attention that she needs when eating her meals. We know this may be difficult at times as there may be a shortage of staff plus other residents as well.
My aunt seems very happy in the Wellcroft and has settled in well. She has her own room but prefers to be in the social areas which are always clean. Whenever I visit, she is clean and tidy. The carers know her well and have adapted to her needs. As a family, we are always welcome.
Great Care Home, they take care of their residents really well. The staff are efficient at communicating any care needs or requirements with key relatives and always put the well being of the resident at the heart of everything they do. My grandma is currently one of their longest residents and is very happy there.
My wife who is suffering with Alzheimer’s has been in Wellcroft since December it’s a nice friendly home, she has a decent room which I was allowed to decorate for her, she also had a picture frame put up which her sister did for her with the family on, the care staff are lovely and nothing seems too much for them, from what I have seen Wellcroft is very well run.
Mum has been a resident at Wellcroft since November 2020. Throughout the time she has been a resident she has received outstanding care from a team of professional staff. The staff know each resident's own particular preferences and adapt their care accordingly. Wellcroft feels like a family and residents are treated as though they are family members. The staff help to support residents' individuality and arrange some lovely visits and one-to-one activities. Mum is extremely happy at Wellcroft and I wouldn't want her to be cared for anywhere else.
My mum moved to Wellcroft 8 months ago and it has been difficult at times for her to adjust and accept, but the care shown to her (and us) has been kind and genuine, respectful and professional. Her physical health is well monitored and she is much better medically than when she went in. I am kept well informed and feel involved and welcomed when we visit. Her friends that visit also comment positively on the care in the home. Thank you.
My husband has recently been moved into Wellcroft, and to date, we have found that he has settled quickly and is being very well cared for. We are advised immediately of any problems and the actions taken. Both my sons and myself could not have asked for better care and attention. Thank you, Wellcroft staff.
I have been very impressed with the actions of the staff at Wellcroft, be it collecting the residents for mealtimes or entertainment. Their patience is to be commended under occasional stressful situations. Every one of them referred to the residents by their name and is genuinely fond of each one.
To all of the staff at Wellcroft, thank you for making the last fourteen months of my mum's life very happy, comfortable and content. The care, compassion and professionalism shown by you all were exceptional and lovely. On many an occasion, Mum would say how kind you all were to her and I know that she would want me to say thank you from her too. I miss seeing you as you were all so welcoming and friendly which made me feel that Mum was in the very best place for her and in the safest of hands. With the greatest respect for you all, thank you.
The staff at Wellcroft are always amazing. However, the effort that the whole team made for the Queen's Jubilee celebrations was nothing short of fantastic. Our whole family was welcomed into Wellcroft and everyone had a truly spectacular time. The team's hard work and dedication certainly paid off. Our thanks to them all.
What a fantastic job Wellcroft did in celebrating the Queen's Jubilee. Mum, who has been in the home for three years now, had such a great time. The staff were all amazing, making sure everyone was looked after. Beautiful buffet on both days, a quiz with prizes and a fantastic singer. Everyone was so happy, all up singing and dancing, which brought me to happy tears. That weekend is something I will treasure forever in my memories, thank you all so much for making it so special for everyone, let's have some more of these fun times.
Myself, my daughter and grandchild visited for the garden party which was in full swing when we got there. I can only go by what happened when I was there so can’t comment on anything that went before or after. I appreciate how difficult running a care home must be and I know the staff are of good heart and try hard so this isn’t aimed at any individual more rather how I felt on that day. On entry, the lady that let us in wasn’t sure whether we needed to have brought our Covid tests or not and a senior member of staff assured her that she needed to be checking as at that point there was a Covid case upstairs which I thought was a bit lax that the member of staff didn’t know the drill on something that important. Even though there was effort put into the celebration, there was no offer of a drink or anything to visitors and felt that once they had been sat down on the whole that was it, there was nothing going on. Other homes in the group seem to be doing a lot more? Appreciate the new manager.
Staff always welcome family on arrival. They are happy to assist Mum into a wheelchair for us to take her out, even when it is obvious they are so busy. We are always kept up to date for example, if the GP has visited and when Mum was the resident of the day we received a lovely message. We always feel included in Mum's care and Wellcroft. They always encourage us to maintain a special relationship with Mum. We cannot thank the whole team enough.
I believe my dad is not being cared for at all. He has been dressed in women's trousers thus preventing him from going to the toilet for a whole day. His wedding ring of 65 years has gone missing, his hearing aids have gone missing, his glasses have gone missing several times, he is on his third pair of slippers. The Management does not take notice of any complaints and basically call you a "lair" or that you "miss-hear things". He is dressed in stranger's clothes when he has adequate lovely shirts and tops of his own which are clearly marked with his name. He has three pairs of his own pj's yet I found him in someone else's top and bottoms one day. I have had to ask on numerous occasions if "dad is allowed a cup of tea". Not really the best care that I had expected for my dad who is nearly 91 years old.
I have found the staff at the home to be very good. They look after my auntie very well.
As you walk through the door at Wellcroft it doesn't hit you with that 'this is a care home' feel but of a more homely feel to the place. Management and staff are always polite and welcoming. The standard of hygiene and cleanliness are excellent.
