View Full Details of Hurst Hall Care CentreIt wasn't until I had cause to visit other care homes that I fully realised just how lucky my stepfather is to be a resident at Hurst Hall. Of course no social setting is perfect, be it a school, hospital or care home, but Hurst Hall has set the bar pretty high. The staff are friendly, compassionate and patient. The home is clean, well maintained and calm with a very welcoming atmosphere. The food is tasty, varied and plentiful. It's abundantly clear the residents are lovingly cared for.
The staff at Hurst Hall Care Home are amazing. They get to know their residents and let you know about the slightest changes. The residents are treated with kindness, compassion and professionalism. My mum was in Hurst Hall in October. The staff let us stay over night with her, they couldn't have treated us any better and were there with comfort and guidance when the end came. My step father is still a resident.
Whilst the staff are always busy, they are always there if and when required. They notice small changes in residents and bring it to your attention on visits. The carers deal with a lot during their shifts, but always are compassionate and caring.
My partner has been in the home since February 2022. I am very pleased with the care he is receiving, he is very happy here. He likes the staff and he says the food is great, he told them he does not like the white of the egg so they always cut it off for him.
Management and all staff have been wonderful and very helpful in the ongoing process of my nan becoming a resident. Very knowledgeable and have been very welcoming to us as a family.
Attentive staff - that know all residents by their names. Always on hand to assist the residents and maintain a safe environment for all. Meals are served on time and varying dietary requirements are catered for. Staff are approachable and friendly throughout the home.
I have only good things to say about Hurst Hall Care Centre. The place my mum had the last part of her life. Surrounded my brilliant staff who cared for her like she was in their family. Cleanliness and there always did have time to talk one to one of u needed. I didn’t have to worry about anything. Clothes always done and put away. Food is always on time. My mum went off food. But if they saw her they would always do her a jam butty. She loved them every day at home. My mum said she would never go into a home, but she loved it there and settled in very well. I was put at ease knowing she was cared for 24 hours a day. Loved having fun and singing with the staff even though some say they couldn’t sing. My mum sadly passed in November.

My elderly father has now been at Hurst Hall Care Centre for three months and I have been visiting him on a regular basis. Consistently he says that he is happy there and that the staff treat him with kindness and respect and help make him as comfortable as possible. The place has a cheery sociable atmosphere and seems to be well organised and professionally run. All the staff are angels. They deal with everyone's varying needs in a responsive, positive, caring way. My dad says they wash and shower him nicely and I've noticed that the residents are encouraged to get dressed and sit in one of the two lounges with the others. There are regular uplifting activities such as exercises, art and sometimes singers. The food is delicious, tasted some! and varied, my dad finds it tasty. Hurst Hall seems clean and tidy with no unpleasant odours. It has an excellent layout, all on one floor in a square shape with a central courtyard garden. Can't be easy working there but they have managed to make it pleasant.
Mum came in June 2022, mum was not great due to a fall at home so mum was being assessed for full-time care, the care mum has received from June till December has been 100%. The carers can't do enough for her and mum was very well looked after 24 hours 7 days a week. Mum passed away on 14th December 2022 in the home. I was there with her and all the staff have looked after me too. even when I was taking dad to visit his wife, they are supportive of all the family members. Thank you for all you have done.
Mum had been in Hospital with knee problems. When fit to go home she was advised not to climb stairs for 2 weeks. Unfortunately, she doesnt have a downstairs toilet and we were due to go on holiday for most of that period. Mum suggested she would be happy to go into Hurst Hall for 2 weeks and this was arranged for her. She was greeted warmly by the staff and we were shown to her room. We were impressed with her room, clean, lots of space, TV and a wet room en suite. Lots of storage for clothes and personal possessions. While we were with her the staff explained all that would be happening, meal times etc. Every day when we phoned her she said how caring, hard working and friendly all the staff were. She was very happy with the quality of the food. Her every request was immediately seen to. We were relieved that the home was so good and she was happy there as I had been very worried about leaving her. She says if she ever has to go there permanently she will be very happy.
The resident himself has enjoyed himself and loved staying. He has been very happy with all the care staff. My husband has been really looked after. I will always ask for Hurts Hall every time we require respite.
The acre home is very well run and very organised. Very clean and well-kept care home. I would recommend to others to stay here at Hurst Hall Care Centre.
My mother passed away on 25th September 2021, just to say thank you to all the staff and carers who looked after Mother these past 4+ years.
I am pleased with the care given to our mum. She has been at Hurst Hall for nearly 2 years and the only problem was bathing and having her hair washed, as mum is very awkward she refused to have people/carers telling her it's time to have a bath, she is adamant she can manage it herself.
My mother has been resident at Hurst Hall for two years and on the whole is settled and happy. Despite a few teething troubles which were rapidly resolved I am on the whole happy with the care my mother receives. She is encouraged to maintain a level of independence whilst being supervised and monitored in an unintrusive way. My only criticism would be that the management has changed frequently which is not good for the morale of the staff or indeed relatives looking for a strong line of leadership and a stable structure.
Lovely place, they look after my mum and dad, always very polite and get on very well with my mum and dad.
My mum is extremely well cared for and looked after. The staff are second to none and look after her brilliantly. She has improved with her mobility since entering the home. The improvement has been wonderful.
Thank you so much for allowing inside contact with mum. It has made such a difference to our whole family. Care staff have been fantastic over the last 12 months working under very difficult circumstances.
All the staff are very caring. Dad thinks you are all angels and that is so important that he is happy.
