The staff are truly amazing and you can really see how much they care for the residents. I cannot thank them enough for the compassion they showed not only to my Grandad but my Mum and me when my Grandad was in his end-of-life care. I am so pleased to know Grandad was in a home where he was well and truly looked after in the time he spent there, and he was always saying he was as well with a big smile on his face. If you are looking for a home for a loved one I can’t recommend St Lawrence’s enough such a lovely friendly family feel to the place for everyone there!
Our dad having to go into a care home was one of the hardest things we have had to do but from the moment we stepped through the door on our first visit to St Lawrence’s Lodge, we knew straight away that this was the place for our dad. It had a lovely, homely feel to it, the staff were very welcoming, helpful and friendly. Since Dad has been in St Lawrence’s Lodge, we have seen first-hand the commitment and dedication from all the staff. They work so well together as a team and the care they give is second to none. You can see that they love what they do and clearly care about their residents. The home is always very clean and the food provided is first-class and homemade. There are activities available and there is regular entertainment. Visitors are always made to feel very welcome. It is like a home from home, an extended family. We know that our dad is safe and very well looked after and would not hesitate in recommending St Lawrence’s Lodge.
This really is an amazing care home. I have visited so many and feel incredibly fortunate to have found this one for my dad. I looked after him for almost eight years, and after a fall whilst in a different care home for respite, it became clear I couldn’t continue on my own. It’s a small home with outstanding staff who clearly love their jobs and the residents. They should run training courses to show how it can be done! I felt very guilty initially and sad that Dad had to go into a home, but knowing he is safe and well looked after has made it easier for me. Visitors are made to feel very welcome anytime. Dad loves the meals, and it’s spotlessly clean. There is regular entertainment and activities are offered most days. I have no hesitation in recommending St Lawrence’s Lodge if you are looking for care for a loved one.
Mum moved to The Lodge (from another home), in January 2023. This home is excellent. It was a hard decision for me to put my Mum in a home as I had cared for her for five years. The difference since Mum has been in The Lodge is amazing! I can't praise the staff enough; they go out of their way for residents and visitors, nothing is ever too much for them. Mum is familiar with all of the girls and that to me is great. Mum has come on leaps and bounds since moving in; she never stops laughing, eating, and she is now talking again (she stopped some time ago). The manager has great staff, and she makes all the relatives of the service users so welcome. I never want to leave when I visit! The whole team are professional, caring people. I highly recommend the home, which is excellent in every area. When I leave, I have no concerns whatsoever because I know she is well looked after from the bottom of my heart. I am now able to live stress free, in the knowledge that my mum is happy and so well cared for.
This is an outstanding care home. The staff look after all of the residents with love and care, taking into account their individual needs. As a family, we are always kept up to date if my nana is unwell or needs anything. It is truly like a home environment, and we could not ask for anything more. We are so grateful to all the staff for everything they do. The care home is also lovely and clean. When my nanna has been unwell, we have been able to go up to her room and spend time with her. Her room is lovely, and there is always a sheet in there to tell us when the staff have been in and if she has eaten, drank, had a shower etc.
