View Full Details of The Cedars Care HomeMum has been at Cedars for just over a year now. It was such a worry for us all, at the outset. A very difficult and worrying time but we knew it was the necessary step to take, without much knowledge or understanding of the process. Cedars made it so easy for us, welcoming us into their splendid home (more like a hotel!) with a warm and cosy lounge, like a Scottish Lodge! Mum has been widowed and lived alone for almost 33 years, so we were worried that living with others would be a concern. Not at all! She has made many friends (Upset a few on occasion, probably?!) and enjoys socialising with residents and staff in activities, exercises, and trips out. The staff are caring, patient, and attentive with Mum and also with family members. Timely comms when Mum is unwell. We are under no illusion and well aware that sadly her condition will continue to deteriorate, but as long as she remains comfortable, content, and most importantly, safe, we are grateful for the care she receives. Mum is well looked after!
I cannot recommend The Cedars Care home enough. My mum went into The Cedars in October 2024, I had viewed many homes but The Cedars to me stood out from the rest with its friendly cosy atmosphere, cleanliness and forever happy staff. Being honest moving mum in on that first day was difficult but the staff were fabulous settling her in, making her feel welcome and putting us at ease and since then mum has put on weight, seems happier in herself, she takes part in all the daily activities and is often taken out to lunch in the local area by the staff. Mum has found her new home and we couldn't be happier.
From start to finish all the staff have been amazing, from assisting with the interaction with the local authority through to the move. The care home is beautiful, clean with fantastic facilities. My relative is flourishing since her move into The Cedars 14 weeks ago. The daily activities and interactions with the staff provide us with much comfort knowing she is safe and well cared for in a lovely community environment.
Mum has received excellent care at The Cedars. The transition from home to residential care was something we were worried about but we didn't need to. She was welcomed and from the day she arrived was cared for and was treated as an individual, meeting all of her needs. She is thriving at Cedars. She had a pressure sore for 18 months at home and within 5 weeks at Cedars it was gone! The staff are amazing and I love the constant interactive events. As a family, we can't thank them enough. She is happy and very well in herself.

The Cedars are absolutely fantastic with mum. The staff are really caring and they show such compassion, treating mum with respect and dignity. Mum tell us she is “very comfortable “ there. Mums needs are met superbly well and her care package is constantly fine tuned as mums needs change. The meals are good, wholesome home cooked food and mealtimes really are something to look forward to. They have plenty of activities to keep mum occupied and she finds them very enjoyable, especially the painting. The building and grounds are beautiful and it is all spotlessly clean and smells fresh and pleasant. I couldn’t wish for a nicer place for mum.
The care my mum receives is outstanding. She is treated with respect and dignity and her care plan is updated as her needs change. The environment is clean and welcoming and I am kept up to date with activities and how mum is doing. I feel like the staff really know my mum. The staff are just so lovely and nothing is too much trouble.
My stepmother has been a resident at The Cedars Care Home since the end of March 2023, and I have found the home to be welcoming, caring and friendly. My stepmother's needs are being met, and she is encouraged to join in the many activities which are available to all the residents and is treated with kindness and respect by all the members of staff. I am kept informed of any events which are being organised and of any practical issues concerning her, which I may be able to assist with, and I receive the monthly newsletter with updates on all that is going on. I am happy with the care that The Cedars is providing my stepmother.
My partner was made to feel “at home” from the moment they arrived at The Cedars. From day one nothing is too much trouble for the management and staff and they are always on hand when needed with help and encouragement.
My mum has been at The Cedars Care Home for several years now. She seems to be very happy there and has no complaints. The staff are always welcoming and friendly. She has a lovely clean and tidy room, and the food is very good. My mum had an operation a while back, which resulted in her having to have a colostomy bag. The home was brilliant in managing this and provided extra training for the staff, so they were able to cater for her needs and support her. They also do a lot of activities. My mum does not always want to join in, but does sometimes, and seems to enjoy the painting. It is great to be able to visit again, now covid is over. I attended two events which the home has organised for residents and family. One at Christmas time, whereby they had a singer, and one more recently to celebrate the King's coronation. They had a singer and games (the coronation bingo was very good!) and a superb buffet. A great time was had by all. Overall as a family we are extremely happy with mums care.
Very pleased with the general atmosphere and pleasantness of the staff. Excellent food...halves the horror of parting with a husband who I can no longer physically care for. Always made me welcome whatever time I turn up. Cannot believe our luck as it is so near our home.
My Grandma (age 97) moved into The Cedars in April 2023, after 6 weeks in another home, prior to this she lived independently in her own home. I visited a few Residential Homes in the area, and The Cedars just stood out above all the rest. It is a very sociable place, which is perfect for Grandma, as she loves to talk to people. There is such a warm feeling each time we go and visit. Grandma has settled very well. There are different activities throughout the week, which Grandma will join in with. All of the staff members are so welcoming and friendly. Each member of staff is aware of Grandma's care needs. We are always included in any decisions that are made involving Grandma. We are allowed to visit at anytime of the day, and can stay for as long as we like. The management team are always at hand too, which we found invaluable in Grandma's transition from another home to The Cedars. I would not hesitate to recommend The Cedars. It is like home from home.
My mum has only recently moved into The Cedars Rest Home and the welcome and service have been exceptional. It was a huge step for her to move from living independently in her own home and we are extremely grateful to the manager and the team at The Cedars for their personal care and attention during this transition period. Mum's health and cognitive ability have much improved and she is now getting more and more confident in her new home environment at The Cedars.
My mother-in-law moved into The Cedars in November 2022, and everything has gone smoothly with her transition to new surroundings. She has settled in well and looks healthier and happier than during her last months in independent living with a support package. The team have been very supportive of her needs, and the manager has maintained regular contact with me in the initial weeks to explain how the home works; she has subsequently made sure that I am happy with her room and the facilities generally, even suggesting a room move to improve safety for her away from the stairs.
Brilliant staff who are patient, informative, caring and proactive. No question is too much. They are understandably aware we don't know how our relative/friend is coping and they help us understand her health and deterioration. They are always welcoming with smiles. I've appreciated everything they have done in settling my friend in, learning to understand her and getting to know her ways. A wonderful team.
My mother has dementia and is 93 years old. She is a strong willed lady who resents being in care and the limitations it places on her independence and freedom to choose her lifestyle. The Cedars have worked to meet her needs and have never made her feel less than human. It is this respect for her humanity that has impressed me most. Old age and senility (to use non PC words) strips us of our humanity of the ability to take decisions on our own behalf we place these in the hands of others. My mother is a fiercely difficult and stubborn woman who has never found it easy to form meaningful relationships. The Cedars work with her and with me. I feel supported and cared for too. They are an excellent care facility!
Overall my experience has been very good. The staff are very pleasant, helpful and accessible. I feel the care my auntie is receiving benefits her very much. She is very at Cedars which in turn makes me happy.
I have found the Cedars to be very accessible to us as a family. My aunt is very well cared for. It hasn't been easy with Covid but we have always been able to come and visit her.
The care of my mum has been exceptional. Her needs are always at the forefront of the home's care. They communicate with the family at all times when Mum is not so well, appointments (which they take her to), results of any tests she needs etc. All the staff are aware of Mum's needs and her personality. They treat Mum with dignity and respect.
Some great care staff, but ultimately this home let us down hugely as a family towards my grandmother's end. From what I experienced, completely not set up for palliative cancer care and should recognise their limitations.
