View Full Details of The Chanters Care HomeWe had a home maintenance urgency and my mother-in-law came to The Chanters for respite care while it was all sorted. Words cannot express how wonderful the home, staff and residents are. From walking into the front door the feeling you get is so warm and welcoming, we think you're all fabulous and do a fantastic job.
Absolutely a fantastic place for our loved ones! Daily activities, trips out I’m happier knowing my relative is being looked after here well recommend, the staff always have a smile on their faces and treat the residents with care and laughter
Wonderful hard-working staff. They have really looked after mum with kindness and compassion. They have a great sense of fun and are always cheerful. They keep us updated on how she is and are very patient with our constant questioning. Amazing team.
My husband came into your care home for two weeks and I can truthfully say he was well cared for. Clean clothes on each time I visited and shaven. he joined in the activities and seemed quite at home at Chanters. Well done to all the staff who cared for him and in the future when needed he can come back to Chanters for another "holiday". Thank you.
Overall we are happy with The Chanters. Mum seems very settled. However, we would like updates. Appreciate staff are busy but an email, say every two months, with updates and progress for Mum.
I'm hoping to get him in very soon. My husband has mixed dementia. A lovely man, all the staff liked him, a very pleasant guy. I should have left him in longer as he loved it there, he had a 1-week respite stay and now I need more weeks leading to a permanent residency. I have his name on a waiting list, but there are 4 in front of him. I have cancer so I need the help. The rooms are lovely and spotless. The staff are lovely and kind, the whole place is superb and where I want my loved one of 60 years to be as soon as possible.
My sister has been in The Chanters Care Home since February 2021 and her care has been great. If I have a question and the person I ask doesn't know they will go and find someone who does. I find it very easy to arrange to visit just a phone call and all is arranged and there are still Covid checks, which I think is very important.
I have found the home to be very clean and inviting. The staff are very understanding, helpful and professional.
My husband has only been in the Chanters Care Home for a year and a half. I have had no complaints whatsoever. He is in a very comfortable room and is always clean and cared for. I have no complaints about his care.
My experience is very good, I'm kept informed of any problems. I don't like the appointment system as I'm not local and used to pop in when close, also my mum has lots of great grandchildren some she hasn't met yet and others not seen for over 2 years which she gets very upset about. Hopefully, that should be sorted soon. Apart from that everything is fine.
The home appears to be very clean and tidy. The residents are looked after and have varied activities going on. The garden is kept beautifully.
My husband was admitted to The Chanters Care Home during the pandemic, from what I have seen I’m happy with the way he is being cared for but can’t comment on the facilities etc because I can only see him in his room and haven’t seen anywhere else. I’m also not familiar with the staff because I don’t see them for long. I have put ratings in for everything but as I said before I don’t really think I can comment on everything as I don’t know.
Brilliant place, the staff are superb.
Sadly my mum passed away in The Chanters care home last week. I cannot thank the management and staff enough for all the love care and attention they have given to her in the last twelve months, an excellent care plan was put in place immediately. Mum had very severe dementia and was always treated with dignity and respect. All staff are professional, welcoming and caring to all residents, family and friends.
We owe a debt of gratitude to all the staff team at The Chanters Care Home for their care for residents and their determination to maintain a happy, stimulating environment for them despite the challenges of the past months. Since the re-opening of the home for planned visits by family and friends I have been impressed by the safeguarding measures in place and the consistency in standards evident throughout. Members of the team have been well trained in the procedures for welcoming visitors including testing, recording data and issuing correct personal protective equipment, tedious at times but always carried out with a smile and humour! It is wonderful to see the reaction of our family members to having a visitor in their room again. A long-awaited blessing. I, like many others, hope that all our highly skilled and compassionate social care workers will finally receive the professional and financial recognition they deserve. Thank you.
Since my father entered the care home all the staff members I have spoken to have been very friendly and helpful. They have always tried to give as much information as possible on Dad's condition and welfare, especially important under the current lock-down situation, where visiting is limited.
The staff of The Chanters Care Home are always professional with care and support both to my mother and also to me. During this very difficult pandemic time, I have been able to keep in touch with my mother by email, letter and video phone contact, all have proven to be a reassurance and comfort. I cannot thank The Chanters staff and management team enough for their kindness, loyalty and friendship. I would definitely recommend The Chanters Care Home.
My Mum has had the most professional, outstanding and wonderful care from the staff at The Chanters Care Home. The last few weeks have been a very difficult time for Mum and me, but we have been surrounded by warmth and understanding and treated with unfailing dignity and compassion. When the world seems to be a grim and joyless place, such care warms the soul. I will always remember and be grateful for the care my Mum has had and for the support given to me.
Mum came for a weeks respite care. We were very impressed with the staff we first met during the initial assessment and during her stay, The home appeared very well run, clean and hospitable. She very much enjoyed her stay and hopefully will be able to return.
