View Full Details of Roby House Care CentreMy mum went to Roby House and the care, love + support that she and us a as a family have received has been overwhelming. When mum passed the staff were phenomenal. I would like you to post something to them to let them know that we are so grateful to them. From kitchen, laundry, nurses, healthcare all have been fantastic and please recognise this and let them all know how special they are. Keep doing what there doing.
I would like to thank all the stuff for the care and love they show my mum. I cannot fault any of the care she received and the compassion they showed towards us. I would recommend Roby House to anyone in the future.
My mother is currently a resident at Roby House - Both my mother and the family have nothing but praise for the staff and the care provided here. There are numerous activities on a daily basis and residents are regularly asked what their interests are to make sure there's something for everyone, should they wish to join in. Nothing is too much trouble. All residents and their families are treated with utmost respect. I can't praise this establishment enough. Thank you.
My father was cared for at Roby House for three years. It was a difficult decision for my Mum to make but it was the right choice. We want to thank all the staff who cared for my Dad and Mum who visited him almost every day during that time. We always felt a warm welcome when visiting, staff would always be willing to help even when there was a shortage of staff. The staff also arranged a birthday party for the family and residents to celebrate my Dad's 90th birthday which we are thankful for as my Dad was not strong enough at that time to leave the home. We will remember with thankful hearts the final weeks when my Dad and the family were looked after. The professionalism, concern and care was exceptional. We will never forget how you lined up outside the Home during the funeral procession. We had a few tears when we saw the genuine affection and respect you showed towards my Father that day. Many thanks to you all.
I couldn’t be more pleased with Roby House. I wanted my Mum to go there for nursing care from the hospital as I lived nearby and my father-in-law lived there for around 4 years until he passed away 10 years ago so we were familiar with this site. I am extremely impressed with the approachability I have with the staff and how they listen and act upon any request I have made to them. The receptionist and the nursing staff deserve special mention, nothing is too much to ask and dealt with either immediately or within one day depending on the request. Also several of the auxiliary staff two of them in particular strive every day to make the residents comfortable. The Home itself is kept clean and tidy. Mum doesn’t use many of the social facilities as she is bed-bound now but they are available and she is encouraged to attend. Well done Roby House for everything you do.
My mum has been a resident for almost 15 months and in that time she has had several falls none of which could have been prevented however the care and support she received immediately afterwards was exceptional. The fact is that she is fortunate to reside with Roby House and the wonderful staff who care for her and look after her needs. The number and severity of her falls have reduced as the staff comes to know her well. For example, they allow her to stay up late watching TV and wake her early mirroring her home life with her sadly departed husband. This alone has made her time here in tune with her family life that she no longer thinks that it is anything other than her own home.
The staff at Roby House were amazing with my father after he had a nasty fall and cut his head they were all very caring and supportive while waiting for the ambulance to arrive special mention to three staff members in particular.
I met with the manager and another staff member who were both really professional in their approach and I could tell they really have the residents' best interests at heart. Very caring and warm atmosphere in the home. Ten out of ten would recommend this home.
The staff are always very helpful and obliging. They are very welcoming in what could be a trying time for your family. The home is very clean and kept like that all the time. The staff are very good at keeping you up to date with what’s going on with my mum’s health. They were also good at giving me advice as it’s something I haven’t done before. The food is always served nice and hot, with the staff always making sure the residents are always happy with it. All in all a very good care home.
Hi, overall experience is just amazing and outstanding, all the staff are loving and caring, my mum was in a bad place but has come on leaps and bounds, the staff are very helpful, supportive, and loving, I’m just so glad I got my mum in here, the staff are also very good as to keep me informed of what’s happening and if there’s any issues with my mum, please let all the staff know how much they are appreciated by myself and my mum. Thank you so very much. Staff members are amazing and caring people and deserve a lot of respect and praise.
Mum went in this place on 29th June. We quickly took her out on Tuesday 4th July to maintain her safety and dignity we removed her from the filth that was evident. Mum was left in soaking incontinence pads, dishevelled and upset in her room on the first 2 mornings I visited. Pressing the call bell is a waste of time because it is left to ring. Money was stolen out of her room as we were unable to have it locked in the office because the staff were not there on the occasions we went to the office. One member of staff advised me to mark everything as things "will get stolen", including her toiletries, and also to wash mum's clothes ourselves because they will be lost or stolen. I will be contacting the CQC to inform them of the very poor quality of this home. The list is endless. I am abhorred by the disgraceful attitude of the manager, dismissive-no compassion non caring attitude or interest shown as to why we removed our mum so quickly. Do not put your loved one in here.
All the staff at Roby House are truly dedicated and nothing is too much trouble for any of them. Our mum has been there for the past month, previously having been at hospital for six months after suffering an extensive stroke. She is settling really well at Roby House. The caring, supportive staff have definitely helped the transition from hospital to be a positive one. Hopefully, she will progress further with the continued support and care. Thanks so much for all your hard work and for taking care of our precious mum.
I am just so pleased my son was allocated a room in Roby House. My son took residence in April 2022. It’s not what you want as a mother, you’re son being in a care home, but my son was really disabled with multiple sclerosis, which he suffered with for 27yrs. In the beginning my son wanted to go home, but, within a couple of months, he was happy. This was down to the wonderful, caring, helpful and friendly staff. My son and I were made to feel so relaxed, we felt like family. My son died in February 2023. The staff were truly amazing and supportive. I miss the girls/women and guys.
I find the home to good standards, and my wife is well cared for, and all the staff do a good job. Thank you.
My dad was in Roby House for respite care following a hospital admission and the staff are fantastic even though they are rushed off their feet they always have a smile on their face and will give you any updates whenever you ask.
New manager arrived in January 2021, and she has completely changed Roby house around for the better, my nana was cared for and kept safe right through covid and all the staff went above and beyond for her, we had regular video calls with her and updates on how she was doing along with pictures of her. Nana is bed bound and her skin is perfect. She is happy and content with her surroundings and that gives me peace of mind. I work in the care home environments and I believe this to be the best run care home I’ve come across.
New manager and deputy manager have turn the care home around and it’s run brilliantly. They are both very approachable, and all carers are very helpful and nothing is too much trouble. The home is always clean and fresh and the food always looks appetising. Laundry is always clean and irons and put away in drawers or wardrobe. Receptionist is always pleasant and helpful. If anything needs repairing the caretaker takes care of it quickly.
My Mother in Law has been resident in the home since December 2019, originally for respite care but now is a full-time resident. You always get a warm welcome from the staff, who really do offer a high standard of care, nothing seems too much trouble, in the fact they go way beyond what’s required for which we are truly grateful. Care homes, in general, get very poor reviews and it’s only when you spend time with your relatives you realise how hard the staff work.
My mum who is 99 has been a resident of this care home for about 18 months prior to being in there for respite care, prior to Covid19, but this has proved good for the family as mum decided to become a resident due to her receiving excellent care and attention that she decided it was best to stay here, we did not want anything else for her as it was care we could not provide for her and we also live an hour away. During the time mum has been in the care home I can honestly say she has been well cared for and the staff are all so good with her she has the best care, and now as she has got really poorly they are outstanding providing all the care she needs with being moved to the nursing floor and she is with staff she has been used to over time. The last few weeks have been really stressful but the home has become our second home, all the staff are so good to her it’s like an extended family, which is really comforting to know she is in the best care and place. I recommend this home.
Mum has only been in Roby House a few weeks, and we are so impressed with the care, compassion and understanding shown by the staff. The environment is so homely, and we have been made to feel so welcome visiting her. Thank you so much to all the staff.
