View Full Details of Eldonian House Care CentreMy mother was a resident at Eldonian Care Home for over 2 years sadly she passed away in early December 2024. I was worried about finding a home for my mum, it can be very daunting but, from the start my mum was happy. Every weekly visit you could tell she was being cared for by the staff, like it was their mum. They all go above and beyond with kindness and give all the residents the dignity they deserve. The home was always well maintained and very clean with a fresh smell. Their choice of food at meal times was really good and plenty, they had parties for different occasions all families welcome, with entertainment. The staff and managers can't do enough for you and your loved one, nothing is too much. They are all approachable. My mums end of life was at the home, they were very professional and caring of our mums needs and worked closely with district nurses and Drs to keep her comfortable, they also looked after us as a family can't thank them enough. All the staff are amazing.
Covid restrictions have meant I'm unable to see Mum as often as I would have liked. However, feel disappointed at the length of time it took for a screen to be fitted, which would have allowed me to visit much sooner. My mum is 92 and does not know who I am. Time, therefore, is precious. I understand the staff are keeping all residents safe... for that, I am grateful. The council have been cautious and not really understanding relatives anxieties to the same extent.
When my uncle went into the hospital, and we were told that it was no longer safe for my two cousins and me to look after our favourite uncle, which we had lovingly been doing for three years, we were devastated. The thought of placing him in someone else's care absolutely terrified us. We settled on the Eldonian because it was close to my uncle's house, but what really swung it was the very kind manner of the manageress, who from the first telephone conversation, put our minds at rest; her professional manner was friendly and very patient, her attitude was kind and very reassuring. The lady who runs the office is a joy to speak to each morning and always keeps us informed of any problems. The rest of the staff are so happy and loving towards my uncle, which we can see clearly for ourselves. We have all agreed that the Eldonian care home is a home from home environment, all the staff are second to none. We are delighted he is living there with carers who love him as much as we do.
What makes this home is the staff; they treat my mum like one-off their own. Been tough going through lockdowns, isolations etc, but knowing the staff are so amazing, helped us deal with having no visits. We knew they would make her feel special every day. Mum always has a smile for the staff, and that shows us she is happy and comfortable in the home.
Lovely place - Mum was in another care home, but it closed down and had to move. I found Eldonians (much better) and am so glad I did. Staff are fantastic. Mum is much more at home and comfortable. Mum is safe and content. Thanks, guys.
My aunt was transferred to Eldonian House directly from the hospital in June 2020 in the middle of the Covid-19 Pandemic. The staff at Eldonian have managed to ensure that my aunt has settled in well and her physical health is much improved due to their care and expertise. Whenever I visit my aunt, she appears happy and tells me how kind the staff are, and anyone who is familiar with my aunt knows she wouldn't say this lightly. The staff are welcoming to me whenever I visit. The pandemic means restrictions are in place, and Eldonian observes these as appropriate. I am unable to comment on her room as I have not been able to see it due to the restrictions in place.
My aunt was a resident in Eldonian from September 2018 until July 2019 and I could not have asked for better care. When you hear the expression "salt of the earth Liverpool people" the carers are this and more. They treat the patients like their family and this was so evident on the day my aunt relocated to a home in Ireland. I can't thank you enough for all you did, keep up the good work. I can’t mention you all individually but you know who you are - a very grateful relative! Thank you.
