View Full Details of Lyndhurst Residential Care HomeI cannot praise staff enough for what they did for my mum, for all Mum only there just over 3 months, staff gave her a wonderful life, caring, compassionate. They treated myself and family wonderful, nothing was ever any trouble. Thanking them doesn't seem enough but I will forever hold them dear.
My initial assessment was that Lyndhurst was a home with a warm and friendly atmosphere and was managed by people who cared for the residents proved to be correct. The staff were very approachable and despite the challenging environment they worked within did so with respect and dignity for my uncle and with a sense of humour. Safeguarding and security procedures are a high priority at the home and this provided a great deal of reassurance to our family as did the fact the management of the home was always on hand and available to discuss any aspects of his care plan. Rooms are of good quality, clean and fresh. When my uncle passed away recently, Lyndhurst again provided caring support and handled all the necessary post-death administration with great professionalism and respect for our grieving family. He loved his time at Lyndhurst, feeling both safe and well looked after by all the staff. I have no hesitation in recommending Lyndhurst Residential Care Home
Excellent Service. Highly recommended. The staff were polite. We got to meet the manager and he was very patient and I informative. The place was warm, clean, pleasant and loomed comfortable. We would use it again.
I visited this home in October 21. The facade of the building is tired and in need of general maintenance. The grounds could do with a good tidy. Some of the staff do genuinely care for the residents but are poorly managed. There was a clear element of miscommunication when it came to her dietary requirements - no one knew my Great-Aunt is diabetic; sadly this is not uncommon in this home. There was also a lack of communication between staff and her social worker when it comes to her basic needs. The CQC reports have been ‘requires improvement’ when it comes to Leadership and Health and Safety since 2020. This generation enjoy their cups of tea and treats, however, the manager is a business and made further cutbacks to save money. I would like to remind the manager all these people have an allowance of £25 per week - I would like to know where it is going. He certainly doesn’t spend any of his profit on updating the place or entertainment like other homes.
My mother has dementia and has been a resident at Lyndhurst for two years now and is happy and well looked after. Staff are very attentive and friendly, always eager to help, and were quick to protect all by putting Covid safety measures in place. It was a difficult time but myself and other family members were able to keep in touch by landline calls, face time and then eventually safe space visits. Looking forward to normal visiting in the lounge with other residents because it’s always a happy and fun place with outstanding care.
My Mother was so well looked after, the staff were so kind and thoughtful, nothing was too much trouble, the home has a lovely friendly atmosphere. In her final days we couldn't have asked for better care, they not only cared lovingly for Mum they looked after us as well, made sure we were alright. I would definitely recommend Lyndhurst to anyone thinking of needing a care home.
My dear friend had to go into care at Lyndhurst in February 2021. It wasn't the easiest of transitions, especially when you have lived in the same house for 97 years, and we were in the middle of a pandemic which meant no visiting, but the staff made her so welcome and accommodated our calls to her until we could visit. What I really like about this care home is, due to the size and amount of residents, they get more one to one with the carers. My dear friend loves the homemade cooking, especially the morning porridge. We know it's not the same as her being in her 'own home', but she has made new friend's and is very content. I have noticed that my friend has put a little weight on and looks healthier. I have to thank the management and carers for going the extra mile and having to take on extra duties such as covid testing for all visitors, which has had successful results as no one has contracted covid in the home, and many thanks for all my brews.
Within a short time of arriving, Mum looked ten years younger. The other residents are typical scousers, and the humorous banter is enlivening. In pre-covid times I loved my visits because it was like I was visiting all of the residents, and I got to know many of them. Of course, the other side of this coin is that my mum would benefit from those visiting others. The staff are amazing, very friendly and very accommodating. Living down south I cannot visit as often as I would like, but I am always made to feel welcome. It is a testament to their professionalism that they have come through the last eighteen months and kept Covid out of the home.
My nan is well looked after. She is in good hands. Thanks to all the staff at Lyndhurst. Brilliant team. My nan got admitted to Lyndhurst last year before the pandemic. She is happy and safe. Every-time I visit her she is happy and well. Staff at Lyndhurst keep her happy and stimulated. My nan enjoys the food at Lyndhurst. The two chefs at Lyndhurst are professional and very kind. Before my nan’s admission, I went for a tour the chef was very helpful. She actually sat down with me and went through the menu and asked me about my nan’s likes and dislikes. Lyndhurst delivers high standard care.
Well trained staff, very helpful and approachable. Hopefully they maintain the high standard of the residential care home forever.
