View Full Details of Cedric HouseCedric House staff really look after Mum. They are very kind and caring towards her. If she has any medical needs these are always dealt with promptly and efficiently. I am always notified promptly of any concerns. Mum really likes all the staff and they are very attentive to her. I am so pleased that we found this placement. The home is not large and impersonal, but small and homely. I would highly recommend it.
My father was in need of help, he was very confused, with Alzheimer’s, Cedric Care Home has been looking after him, and since he’s been there since September he’s improved and is less confused, the staff are like one happy family with everyone, Cedric House is clean and everyone there is well looked after. Also, my father is very happy there. Thanks staff for being amazing people.
We really appreciated the care and support that we received at the sad time of our fathers passing. Over the two years our father was a resident in Cedric House he was treated like a family member and looked after in a kind and caring manner by everyone at Cedric House. The choice we made for him to become a resident at a care home was very difficult but we could not have chosen a better place for him.
The care provided for my mum was exceptional. The staff, from cook to cleaner, to care staff and owners, all supported us as a family and my mum, in what was an emotional time. They did this by treating my mum as the person she was, they knew her character and met all her physical and emotional needs. My mum and us, as her family, were consulted and involved in every aspect of her daily life while in Cedric house. The difficulties faced with dementia for my mum and us was not just a daily change but a minute by minute change and all staff supported my mum and us as a family with dignity and respect no matter what the situation. The most important thing was they used my mum's name and every other resident there showing that the staff treated, including my mum, as the individual person they were not a resident in Cedric House as a person with dementia.
I find this home to be very professional, the staff are caring and polite and always have smiles on their faces. The care is exceptional and the staff are highly trained and nothing is ever too much trouble. I would highly recommend this home.
Having visited my sister over 600 times in 5 years, I would say that the greatest thing about Cedric House is the wonderful Kindness there: to see my sister's face light up when a carer comes to talk. There are constant refurbishments and improvements in decorations & fittings - so many lovely touches! My sister's room is charming. The cleaners are wonderful, working really hard on an unremitting job. Everyone works hard, coping well with people with such diverse needs. There are good contacts with the wider community: volunteers from St Bartholomew's Church come with Communion every Sunday; local choirs visit and sing; there are craftwork sessions for those able to join in. My sister has always enjoyed the food and great efforts are made to make it varied and nutritious - I get to enjoy the lovely party food! I enjoy chatting with residents and staff. I feel it is a privilege to be in the company of people who are striving with all their might to do some good in the world.
My mother in law has spent two visits at Cedric House and she is with them now for a third time. I am very pleased to say that every possible care is taken to make her as comfortable as she can be. She suffers from dementia and she is unable to walk or look after herself. The staff at the care home look after her with the utmost kindness nothing is too much trouble for them and my wife and I are able to leave her there knowing that she is in the best possible place. Thank you all at Cedric House for all you do.
