View Full Details of Connell CourtMy mum has just completed her third respite stay at Connell Court. We can't praise the staff enough for the care they provide. My mum is always happy to go there and, if and when the time comes that she needs more permanent care, we would have no hesitation in using Connell Court. Mum loves her food and the menus are great. She appreciates the kitchen staff and wants to especially record how much she enjoyed all her meals. The activities programme is very good and mum always comes home stimulated and chatting about the things she has got up to. This month she loved the Burns night activity and the chair hockey. It is a massive comfort to me and my sister that she is so well looked after when she is in Connell Court for a temporary stay and I highly recommend the home and the staff for everything they do.
My mum has been at Connell Court now for 18 months and I cannot fault the care they have provided. She is very happy there and considers all the staff members as friends. The peace of mind that it brings knowing she is safe and comfortable is enormous.
It's been so easy to move my elderly father into Connell Court. All the staff have made each step straight forward. To see the difference in my father is so delightful. He's so happy and content. The weekly programme is fantastic - like being on a cruise ship! The food and menus are welcome and nutritious. I feel a weight lifted off my shoulders knowing he is safe and well cared for.
My sister and I visited Connell Court and immediately had a 'good feeling' about it. Mum was able to go for a few weeks respite and then made the decision to stay. She has been a resident for 8 months now. The staff have been wonderful and are very pro-active, if ever she has any care needs, contacting the GP or relevant people as soon as they perceive a problem. They keep me fully updated on everything that is happening with her care. All the staff are very kind, caring and respectful towards Mum. There is a full programme of activities for her to take part in or not as she wishes. They have also held events involving family and friends, quiz evenings, afternoon tea, cheese and wine evening. We have complete peace of mind that she is in a good place and being well looked after.
My mother- in- law is a resident at Connell Court and the care she has received has been exceptional, she is fully supported by a loving and caring staff. Her needs have increased over the time that she has been there, but all the staff provide care to a very high standard. She enjoys the variety of activities available to her, particularly the Church and Chaplaincy services. We have complete peace of mind that she is in the best possible hands and receiving the care that she needs. Thank you to all the staff, we are most grateful for everything you do and your dedication to the residents.
If I ever have to go into a care home, Connell Court is the only one I would choose. The staff are lovely and helpful, it's beautiful and clean. I would recommend it to everyone. I don't know about the food as I have never tried it.
There seems to be a multitude of activities organised that residents are able to participate in and these might be recurring as well as specific to an occasion or theme. Staff, residents, and families are able to join in. Food and catering are of top quality and choices are varied. Staff attention to residents seems to be 100% focused but at a level that residents themselves can also decide upon. Really impressed by everything.
I feel that mum is in very safe, qualified and experienced hands here at Connell Court. She is very contented and all the staff have been so helpful and kind showing much patience and attention. Everywhere is kept very clean throughout. There is always a great range of activities, quizzes, competitions etc., excellent meals (always a choice) and beautiful gardens and we are very happy with the overall experience.
Mum has had a few falls and has become less confident when walking. Caring staff at Connell Court have helped her immensely. Mum doesn't join in with many activities but does enjoy carpet bowls. Her hearing is impaired and caring staff make sure she understands conversations.

I am confident and comfortable with the care that my father receives. I know he is safe physically and mentally - more so than he has been for years. I appreciate the homes' efforts to keep me up to date, by sharing his activities through photographs as I cant be there.
The standard of care provided at Connell Court is excellent. The staff works tirelessly in all areas and the range of daily activities is extensive. The facilities such as the hair salon and the lovely garden are second to none.
The staff have provided excellent care to my mother and have been reactive to her changing needs. They have kept me updated with any changes to my mother's health and care needs and I feel confident in the level of care she receives.
Every time I visit my Dad in Connell Court I am always greeted with a friendly smile and chat with one of the staff. I can catch up with any member of staff who knows my Dad. Everywhere is spotless. Dad is so happy and genuinely has fun each day. It is a great comfort to all our family to know Dad is safe, being well cared for, and happy in the company of fellow residents.
Initially moving in for respite care, my father settled so well, with the support of staff, that he made this a permanent move. Still active, the staff have been encouraging his trips out and involvement in in-home activities whilst ensuring his comfort and safety, a huge relief to all his children. Staff have been so welcoming and considerate that this initially reluctant resident (independent being his middle name) has become a bit of a fan of all of them. The many activities organised ensure he has something to do every day which he happily talks about to all his children with praise for the staff involved. Thank you to all the staff.
Very impressed with the dedicated care, kindness, and attention to detail of everyone in Connell Court. The lady I care for is very fussy but is always delighted with all the attention she receives there. Can't wait for her next respite care. Such a relief for her family who live a long way off and for me to know how happy she is.
My Auntie has been a resident for seven years, my Uncle was a resident for the first twelve months of this time. Both were strong, independent hard-working people. However, in their nineties, decided they needed that special care. Sadly my Uncle passed away but not without the special care and dignity required and supplied by Connell Court. Auntie continued on her own and with support from Connell Court, she has continued with a happy, relaxed, fulfilled time making friends with both residents and staff, enjoying the activities and themed projects. She has also appreciated being able to take part in meetings and decision-making on behalf of herself and fellow residents. Connell Court during this time has always been outstanding for care provided, cleanliness, standard of food, activity schedule, and the kind and personal connection with all involved. It is a great comfort knowing that my auntie is being cared for to this standard and she too has always appreciated Connell Court as her home
My mother, a grammar school girl who made it to Oxford, had always been fiercely independent. 'Promise me you’ll never put me in a care home.' But at the age of 91 the medics said she needed full time care, not visiting carers. Mum spent the last five years of her full life in Connell Court and they were among her happiest years. She settled straight away and threw herself into the many and varied indoor and outdoor activities the home puts on. Everyone, from the very accessible Manager and her experienced Seniors to the newest carer, was kind and compassionate and quick to tell me about any changes in Mum’s condition and in the home’s routines. I never felt that I was kept in the dark or was being a nuisance. The care Mum received throughout her stay was exemplary. I visited her frequently and she often told me 'such a lovely place, and lovely people.' We were both very lucky to have found Connell Court.
Excellent, caring environment for my mother. Staff really helpful and supportive. Communal rooms always clean and fresh. Can't speak too highly about the dedication of all the staff. My mother feels part of the Connell Court family, and very much at 'home'.
The overall experience of Connell Court was excellent from the start; phoning up the management and making enquiries to getting my mum in and settled. She was only in for three weeks recovering from an emergency operation. She was made very welcome by all the staff and other residents. I would highly recommend the care home and would not hesitate to use it again in the future if needed.
