View Full Details of Promenade Care HomeMy Mum went into care here in October 2023 as her care was beyond me and she stayed there until she passed away last month in January 2025. She had 2 main carers who went way above the levels of care that is required. All the staff there are caring and dedicated. The Management are very approachable too. I firmly believe this is the best home in the whole area. I visited my Mum virtually every day for 15 months she was there. I even started the Funeral procession from there and all the staff lined up outside to see her off. Not only was the care exceptional for my Mum, but they have also helped and supported me throughout after her passing. Staff on their day off even chose to come to the funeral. The food in there is exceptional and better than what I eat. Cleanliness is also exceptional. Hand on heart I can honestly say I would be happy to live there myself. Thank you everyone for all that you did. I highly recommend the Promenade.
Due to a lack of staff, not enough to do. My sister was promised to get her nails done and shower. Only went out once in two weeks.
My mum is happy here and that's what matters to me. She is treated with dignity and respect. Her clothes are well-laundered, although there can be a problem with them getting lost in the system. I believe they are trying hard to resolve this.
I have been very impressed with the care and understanding provided by the Promenade Care Home since my friend became a resident in March 2024. Plenty of entertainment including bingo; quizzes; singers and even trips out. My friend also enjoys the food, of which there is plenty of choice at both lunch and dinner. Since being diagnosed with Alzheimer's disease, she has been prescribed medication which hopefully will slow down the process. I hope I do not have to move her to an EMI home.
I couldn’t rate this home any higher! From the manager right down to cleaners! Everyone bent over backwards and it is a home from home! Visiting is open door policy and you can help yourself to a brew! It’s so warm and welcoming. My father-in-law is blind and any potential hazards were considered and dealt with. My mother-in-law had a recent fall and again so much professionalism and effort was put into her comfort it was so thoughtful. Unfortunately this was a respite stay and I was overruled and as a family and they were moved south. I was really saddened as I am pretty sure you won’t find better. Totally recommend a look round. Honest, friendly and wonderful staff. Lovely homely atmosphere!
The Promenade Care Home team are so positive with all their residents. I would definitely recommend. There are lots of activities organised and residents are encouraged to join in, residents are not all sat lining up the walls, they are encouraged to move, to think, to remember through pets visiting, games, interaction with others/carers. Promenade Care Home often have musicians in/dancers. Residents can join in or watch others if it's not for them. The place is airy/clean and fresh. The care team 'care' each and every day.
Mum's very well taken care of, and she is loved by the staff and management. The staff are all lovely and go the extra mile. Mum always looks clean and is always in her clothes. This home is beautiful and is always clean. The manager is amazing, and the admin lady is always helping me if I'm stuck on anything. Love this home and the staff.
Over the last two years, I have been treated with respect when visiting my mother, who has always looked clean and tidy. She is happy and settled here, and the staff love her. I am very happy with all her care.
Dad has settled into the home well, his room is tiny but he is getting used to it. Ideally, if a larger room was available it would be nice to think he would have the first opportunity to move when available. I take him food as he is not keen on the food provided but I am happy to take meals for him so he eats well. He is cared for very well, I feel happier that he has 24-hour support and the team is amazing. He gets upset about his clothes as they are not ironed when coming back and some of his clothes are worn by other people even though I put name labels on all of them. He has always looked after himself so seeing him in clothes un-ironed is sad. My mum is in another care home and her clothes are well looked after.
Such a caring home; they could not do enough for my uncle and me. I live 300 miles away, and they were like a second family; they could not do enough for him. The room and food were excellent, but the true quality was the staff. despite all the challenges of Covid, they looked after all the residents like their own. That extra smile, chat and moment of caring were great and much appreciated. They even offered me a room to stay in near him when he was so ill. I would recommend this home to anyone.
The staff are always helpful, friendly and easy to talk to. They offer refreshments and always listen to residents and their needs. Always clean, tidy and well maintained. Always observe Covid practices. On the phone, polite, courteous and knowledgeable.
Mum moved into the Promenade several weeks ago. The staff there are simply marvelous dealing with mum's needs with such care and attention and at all times making her feel safe and special. The Promenade is a fantastic place with a really nice atmosphere. In my experience the staff are friendly, special people doing such an important job quite brilliantly. Thank you so much!
Review is good because of Covid. So we are unable to give a proper review. The staff are marvellous and obviously very caring.
Do agree it is great. However due to Covid unable to give a detailed review but the staff have been very accommodating during this pandemic.
My friend seems very happy here.
Finding long-term care for Mum was a difficult decision, but in choosing the Promenade, I think we struck gold and it really has become a home from home for Mum. The staff and management go out of their way to help Mum in every way. There are lots of activities which Mum loves, her favourite being the sing-a-long. The garden room provides a completely safe environment for visits. I recommend this wonderful home and it means so much to know Mum is being so well cared for.
I visited a resident after booking an appointment. I was asked questions regarding covid and had my temperature checked. Following this, I sat on one side of a screen and my resident friend on the other. We chatted for the half an hour allotted time in very comfortable surroundings. It was nice and warm. My friend tells me she is very happy there and the staff are very kind. She has her hair and nails done and enjoys that. Thank you for an enjoyable visit. I cannot comment below for an external visit.
This care home has changed my mum's life for the better in all ways despite her Alzheimer's getting worse. The staff here are so gentle, kind and very considerate. I thank all the staff and managers on behalf of my family and me. It gives us much comfort to know mum is looked after so well.
A very friendly and pleasant place to visit. During these difficult times, they have made every effort to help. Staff are lovely and helpful.
My Mother in Law, who is 93, has been a resident in Promenade Care Home since February 2020. She is very independent and we thought she wouldn't settle into residential care. how wrong we were! She is very happy in the Promenade and all the staff are helpful, kind and thoughtful. Thank goodness that Mum in Law has been safe and happy during this awful Covid pandemic.
