View Full Details of The CroftAmazing staff, one member especially. Mum settled in quickly and made to feel at home. Room beautiful. The food is very nice. The manager is very helpful. Very welcoming. The home is spotless. Thank you girls for looking after our Mum.
Croft review: I can't speak highly enough about the entire team at the Croft. They have managed our mum's transition from complete independence to a need for daily physical support with a fantastic level of professionalism, empathy, and dignity plus humour and warmth. The Croft isn't a Care home, it's a second family and I don't know where we would have been without them.
Since my auntie has been in The Croft care home (December 2022), I have been very pleased with the care my auntie has received. The food is excellent. I feel very reassured she is getting well looked after. And would highly recommend The Croft care home.
My sister came to The Croft approximately eight months ago. All the staff including the chef are outstanding! They genuinely care about the resits, nothing is too much trouble! If you want a particular food they will get it in. The food is excellent, full of flavours and attractively presented! The upgraded lounge is enjoyed by the residents and visitors. A doctor visits weekly and when needed, which is reassuring.
As always the staff at The Croft are kind, helpful and always ready to assist when needed. Quite often they are very busy and will still go out of their way to assist my mother. They have a good sense of humour and always have a smile and a joke when needed. It's a very hard job but everyone I have met at The Croft does their very best to help and make sure residents are in comfort and happy!
Lovely, caring staff that really give you the feel everyone is all part of a family. Always made to feel welcome, not short of a good joke and can't do enough for you! Patience and Ice Cream a plenty.
My first stay in a care home and I can't believe how lucky I am to have chosen this one. From the moment I arrived, nothing has too much trouble. The food is excellent, plenty of tea or coffee (most important!) and the care is exceptional. I am not here permanently but if I ever need care again I hope there will be a room for me here.
I was highly recommended another residential home by the daughter of a resident there. Which then led me to visit both that one and The Croft. Both are run by the Allandale Care Group. I was very impressed by both places. But The Croft with just 10 residents felt the right place for Mum. The relaxed and friendly atmosphere is wonderful. Staff always make time to speak to visitors and residents. They are very supportive, warm and caring. They took time to get to know Mum well and encourage her independence. The care she receives is excellent. I have observed everyone from the office to cleaners, cooks, carers, being involved and contributing to the benefit and well-being of all the residents. The teamwork is exemplary. Family members are always welcome at any time and are involved and updated on any changes promptly. We are very fortunate to have found this home for Mum and the dedicated staff have come to feel like extended family members.
Have been meaning to do this for a few weeks (sorry). Following a long traumatic stay in hospital that I never thought she’d come out of, our family had to make the tough decision to look for a care home for Mum as Dad could no longer manage and neither myself or my brother live near enough to help more. Cannot thank their general manager enough, she’s held our hands and guided us from the initial viewing, liaised with our useless social worker to get Mum safely settled. She arrived very frail and bewildered, fast forward to now she’s eating, dancing and literally skipping around, which she used to do a long time ago, but most importantly she has her smile back. All the staff are amazing so friendly, caring and treat Mum with such dignity. Nothing is too much trouble. You feel like you’re in someone’s home, it’s immaculate, the rooms are lovely with beautiful furnishings and attention to detail. The menus look great, keep saying to Dad to have a meal up there, he’s even planning to reside there! Thank you so much.
The croft is very well run. With the highest standard of care to all patients, and very clean. All the staff should be given a gold star for all their hard work. Well done to everyone at The Croft.
I feel so lucky that there was a vacancy at The Croft for my 93-year-old mother when she told me she couldn't cope any longer and needed to be looked after. She couldn’t have asked for better care in such a lovely, friendly, and cozy environment. Within a very short time of arriving, she was much better and a bit more like her old self. She was well-fed, helped to take her medication and she started to sleep well. She became quite forgetful and would often say that she hadn't eaten anything for breakfast. Some staff would frequently make her more toast and tea. Nothing seemed to be too much trouble. All the staff treated her with respect and kindness and chatted with her as if she was an old friend. They were sensitive to her sadness at the loss of her independence, always quick to call for medical help if it was needed, and extremely professional in dealing with her complex medical needs. I particularly appreciated their support for me and my family.
The Croft, staff and management were truly amazing. From the time of visiting my father in the Hospital before being released to the Croft, to the time in the home, the care provided was exceptional and went well beyond our expectations. The Croft doesn’t just provide care, it provides a loving family environment for all residents and families visiting. Constantly keeping us updated on a daily basis with care reports was a blessing and peace of mind to know my father was being cared for 24/7. Having spoken to regional care organisations on the Wirral, they all reported the same comments - how impressed they were with the Croft! A huge thank you from all the family.
Our mum is 95 and has been at the Croft for 3 years. She has a nice bright, comfortable room. From day one staff were welcoming and got to know her personality and needs. As time has gone on and her confusion increased the staff have adapted their support. They look after her well and try to jolly her along if she is feeling down. They understand her personality and try to keep her in good spirits. Because it’s small there is always someone nearby and staff pop in with a smile and a cup of tea quite often. The food is good. She is well cared for and the staff keep the family up to date about her care. We (her children) feel we can speak with staff to discuss our mum and feel welcome when we visit. The staff work very hard. Activities have improved a lot which is good. I haven’t rated activities- no reflection on the excellent activities coordinator. We think it would be better still if more hours were possible as she is no longer really able to keep herself occupied.
I couldn’t be happier with the care my mum gets at The Croft. The staff are so friendly, caring and supportive of her needs. Mum’s needs have become more complex over time and the staff have adapted their approach and processes to ensure her continuing comfort and well-being. The Croft is a wonderful place - thank you to all.
I would absolutely have no hesitation in recommending The Croft to anyone requiring care for a sick or elderly relative. My wife is fully immobile and requires significant care. The staff have been not just professional in their care and attention towards her but their humanity, compassion and sensitivity have gone beyond what I and my family had expected in a care facility. They don't just care for my wife, they look after all of our family and friends when they visit and they literally can't do enough for any of us. It is such a personal approach they take to the individual and their family that it really does stand out as going beyond what the requirements of a care facility would typically provide and I am so thankful for that. What is a very difficult time has been made that much easier by the staff who keep us going with their light relief, their genuine care for my wife and us all and their humour, which I am incredibly grateful for.
My mum who suffers with dementia has been living in The Croft for nearly two years. The difficulty families face watching their loved ones slowly mentally disappear is such a painful process. When the time comes to move them to a place of safety it is sad and the burden of guilt hangs heavy. The support I had through this transition in my life and that of my mum's was more than I could have ever hoped for. Nothing was too much trouble for the staff; to talk, to reassure, to comfort; making me feel that my decision was the right one. It is a joy to visit my mum at The Croft. She is happy, comfortable, content, and so well cared for. I look on the staff as our extended family now. After I leave I know that Mum's 'family' are looking out for her when I'm not there. Thank you everyone. You are brilliant!
It isn't easy to choose a residential home for someone who you love and who has always been independent in their living. Choosing the right location for Mum was based on a 'feeling' that this location was going to be the right one for her, in terms of personal care as well as mental health. The management at The Croft helped me through a traumatic time in moving Mum from a hospital to their home. Within days, she had settled in and now enjoys their fabulous care (wonderful food) which is delivered with so much consideration and respect. All of the team are welcoming of visitors at any time, which is reflective of the confidence they have that everything is always spot on. This peace of mind is invaluable.
My mum has lived at the Croft for five years and sadly passed away five days ago. I cannot fault the love and care given to my mum from the top chief executive to the whole team including care staff, day and night team, domestic staff, cook, caretaker, and activities coordinator. My mum passed away peacefully with staff who loved her, they showed dignity and utmost respect. I have lost my mum but also my extended Croft family. I can only offer sincere thanks for the last five years.
I feel that my nan is in a safe, clean, happy, professional place. We love to visit. I am one of her three grandsons and we feel comfortable visiting. Any issues are addressed. Very happy, friendly staff who always take the time to speak to us.
My wife and I were very happy with what we saw at The Croft. It was clear to us that the staff were dedicated to the running of the care home and this shone through in their approach and obvious wellbeing of the resident we visited. The measures taken to safeguard against covid are a good example of the diligence demonstrated.
