View Full Details of The Dales Care HomeThe staff are all polite extremely caring and thoughtful to all residents as well as family members and friends. Staff are very friendly and a cup of tea is always offered to us which is most appreciated. I am always kept well informed regarding my Mum - If ever have questions to ask there is always someone on hand for me to talk to.
Our family is deeply grateful for the warmth, compassion and exceptional care provided to our mother during her albeit short time at the Dales. Knowing she was in such skilled hands brought us immense comfort. We especially appreciated the attention to detail in ensuring she was always clean, tidy, and dressed nicely-something that meant so much to both her and us. The kindness, patience, and dignity that all of the staff showed, not only to her but also to our family, was truly remarkable. Your thoughtful efforts, especially during her final days, made her feel safe and at home. We couldn't have asked for a more caring and supportive environment. Thank you for all you did to care for our mother and help our family through such a difficult time. Your efforts will never be forgotten.
Since being here I have had nothing but a good experience. The staff are great, they all work to a high standard. The management team also works to a high standard, going above and beyond to help in every way possible.
My great uncle who is a 89 was a resident at the Dales and has mild dementia, he was able to get out through a front door that was left open, he was missing for over an hour and had fallen down an embankment and broken his hip, the staff were unaware of his absence until we informed them that he was with emergency services and on his way to hospital. We have reported the home to adult safeguarding and also the CQC, who are investigating. The nursing home's response has been awful. We as a family are shocked and appalled by the lack of care and awareness that has been showed to our family member.
I have found everything good, very nice staff, good food, nice room, management very good. I have just wanted to be in my own home with my dog and didn't want to be in any nursing home, but this one overall is good/very good.
Exceptional care home, giving great care and attention. Clean and bright.
The Dales is always a nice place to visit. The staff always give a warm welcome. Mum always seems to be happy and contented. The communal areas are always spotless as is mum's bedroom. The food is freshly cooked on site and there are lots of choices. Staff are very caring towards mum who has advanced dementia showing her love frequently. We are very happy with the overall experience of The Dales.
Mum has been here for three months and has dementia although she has found the transition to the home difficult the staff have been wonderful, caring and kind. I have found my mum coming into the care home hard but the staff are always willing to listen and talk with me and I feel so reassured. I feel my mum is well looked after here and the staff do an amazing job always smiling and helping the residents. The staff are really special I appreciate them so much I would recommend this care home, can't fault it.
Day staff, from the manager through carers, kitchen staff and housekeepers all showed consideration, empathy and care to all residents. The residents have a choice for all meals and are asked individually for their preference and offered alternatives if they don't want/like what is suggested. I have no experience of meeting night staff but have raised a few concerns re: application of prescribed creams not always carried out.
Great care home. Staff very attentive. You all deserve a medal!
I found this home after a long, hard path. I fell in love with the atmosphere and staff straight away. Dealing with dementia is an upsetting situation, but all the staff put me at ease. I am very happy with how my mum is treated - with good care, respect and dignity. I am updated on any situations with my mum. I am so grateful for the hard work and dedication of all the staff. I hold in high regard all the staff in The Dales and can't thank them enough.
The carers at The Dales, you can't fault them. Every visit, they greet you with a smile and a laugh. They keep you informed on your loved ones, so you know how they've been and what they've been included in (activities and such). Transparency, honesty and care. You know when you leave your loved one, they're in the best care with staff or even residents they're friends with. We couldn't ask for a more clean, welcoming, loving home and cares for our nan. We can't thank The Dales enough.
The permanent staff are excellent - very caring towards residents and helpful to visitors. The care home is generally very clean, though sometimes could be better. Mum is well looked after but gets a bit bored with the food - usually soup and sandwiches for lunch; hence I bring her lunch in once or twice a week. Mum's room is bright and airy, and she has her own ensuite, which is good.
Very happy with the care Mum is getting. Always has a lovely atmosphere and is friendly. Staff very good people, always seem content. Always there to talk to.
I couldn't fault the staff or anything. They take great care of my nan and I feel secure in the knowledge she is being cared for.
My mum in law passed away recently. We could not have wished for a better place for her to have resided. The Dales is homely and well-staffed. Staff were compassionate and caring. They appeared to have close relationships with the residents, at all times keeping us informed about her condition and respecting our input. My mum in law was very settled at The Dales due to the continuity of familiar faces and a relaxed atmosphere. She arrived there bewildered but with love and kindness soon settled. I never saw any unkindness to the residents just plenty of good-natured banter and tea! As a nurse, I am aware of the challenges of elderly care - the staff encouraged and motivated the residents. Thank you to you all for your kindness and love-in particular towards the end of her life-promptly facilitating a GP, community nurse, arranging a special bed and pain relief. My mum in law's skin was kept immaculate throughout her stay due to good personal care and good food. Highly recommended.
My dad and I would thoroughly recommend the Dales. Everyone was so kind from the moment Dad arrived from hospital to the day he came home, he was treated with respect and dignity. We were all made very welcome and any visitors that Dad had. He had never been in hospital (the last time being when he was a child) or in a home and as he was 95 it was a complete shock to the system. Dad had his own room with toilet/washing facilities. His room overlooked the front garden which was lovely. We were encouraged to bring any reminders of home to decorate his room too. The meals were delicious and the staff were very accommodating to the patients' needs. The Dales worked with us in preparing Dad for his return home, helping to equip his home and being so patient when I was trying to renovate/decorate his home. We can't thank you enough, the Care Navigator, the OT and all the care assistants involved in Dad's care you were amazing, so lovely. Thank you so much.
This care home is shocking, shouting at residents, offering no dignity when showering, and when unhappy with the resident leaving at short notice became nasty and bitter, dressing him in a thermal vest on one of the hottest days of the year, and refusing to put socks on him ‘because you have none clean’ although there were several pairs in his room. As we left, we had to go back because they had ‘forgotten’ to bring his money out of the safe (£80) and when we asked for it, we had to wait for more than 10 minutes whilst they ‘looked for it’, which ended up being a relief because it transpired that he was leaving with accidentally only half of his medications for Parkinson’s Disease. The reason cited for the rigmarole was he didn’t give them enough notice (24 hours). The food however in the main was good, and many of the staff were decent, unfortunately those who dressed and showered the residents have no respect! This care home was sadly lacking in care, respect and dignity.
