Truly a lovely lovely place.
We are very happy with the care that my mother is receiving at Salisbury House and can't praise the staff highly enough. Moving into a care home is a big adjustment for everyone but she has settled in really well and it's a relief to know that she safe and cared for as her health deteriorates. She enjoys the outings and activities and she always looks well. It's a pleasure to vist her as the staff are always welcoming and supportive. The atmosphere is always cheerful and lively and the house is very clean and beautifully maintained.
Mum is well cared for by kind, dedicated and caring staff. Mum is very fond of all the staff. The family are always given time to discuss Mum and her care, no matter how busy the staff are. The staff are very helpful and nothing is too much trouble. Salisbury House is clean. Activities are very good and families are involved and included.
Mother was admitted in June 2023 for emergency respite. As she settled so well, we decided that in Mum's best interest, we would request that her stay become permanent. We cannot praise the staff enough for the way they cared for Mum, who sadly died on 11th January, still at Salisbury House. She was happy, contented, warm, well-fed and obviously liked by many of the team, who coped with some of Mum's odds ways with good-natured responses. Although there was only a double room available for Mum, she was 'paired' very well with her new friend. Always spotlessly clean, the room was of an adequate size, with plenty of storage space, individual to both. Salisbury House 'does what it says on the tin' Plenty of activities and outings, which Mum enjoyed, and we were made more than welcome to hold a small party on her 93rd Birthday. When Mum suffered her second stroke, we were allowed to stay with her, both day and night, which meant so much to us. Thank you to the whole team.
My wife has mixed dementia, caring for her 24/7 became so demanding I sought daycare for her at Salisbury House with some trepidation. I needn’t have worried, everyone there welcomed my wife each visit like she was a friend calling by. In addition to the excellent care of my wife, during the hours she was there, they offered me support too, recognising the demands placed on the carer. I would not hesitate to recommend.
They made my dad feel like he was living with a family. All his needs were taken care of. The staff were brilliant in the way they took care of him. They regularly take them out for coffee all over the Wirral. Every meal my dad loved; he said you would never go hungry in here. Meals were a big thing for him.
This is an extremely well-run care home where we are happy to leave our cousin, who sadly has an Alzheimer's diagnosis. Friendly and skilled staff, always cheery in this difficult task. The home is very well decorated and kept very clean and tidy. We recommend it wholeheartedly.
Since our first contact, all the staff have been so helpful and friendly. We love the activities available for Mum when she’s there. Knowing she’s being looked after allows Dad to have a little break.
Salisbury House has a warm and homely feel. In my opinion, it is very well managed and has amazing staff. In the eight months my mum was there, she received first-class care and was always treated with dignity and respect, especially in her last few days, which we, as a family, will be eternally grateful for. I have no hesitation in recommending Salisbury House.
I would like to thank Salisbury House for the way their amazing staff looked after my cousin. She absolutely loved being there. Unfortunately, she passed away, but it will stay in my mind that she was well cared for in her last days.
My mum was given the best care. The home went above and beyond to look after her. The staff were all amazing and treated my mum like their own mum or nan. I cannot thank them all enough. Mum's room was always spotless, and Mum was always immaculate. She was a proud lady, and she was treated like one. Mum was there for nearly four years, but without their care, dedication and love, she would not have lasted as long as she did. 100/100 to every staff member. I love them all.
My dad was at this home for a year and a half. The care he received was excellent, and all staff and management are very caring. Dad was very happy here. Dad always looked lovely, clean and happy within himself. Dad passed away with dementia. Thank you once again.
Dad moved to Salisbury House 14-months ago, following a rapid decline in his mobility which meant he was unable to remain in his own home. This change took place during covid, so the family relied on reviews to choose residential care for Dad. Thankfully, Salisbury House has a room for Dad, and the staff and management team have far exceeded their score in the care they have given to Dad. Dad settled in after a few weeks and soon began gaining weight as he was enjoying his meals so much. He was always clean and smartly dressed when we visited. The staff monitored his general health and did not hesitate to contact the GP if they had any concerns Sadly Dad's health began to fail, and the family were able to visit at any time during his final week. We cannot thank the staff enough for the care, dignity, and respect they showed Dad and the family at this time. Dad made it to his 93rd birthday and passed away a day later. I cannot recommend Salisbury House highly enough.
My mother received exceptional care throughout her eleven-year stay. I was most impressed during her last days when, without exception, every member of staff showed her respectfulness and care, ensuring she was treated with dignity and love. They also looked after the family, who were with her. I can't thank them enough.
My mother was reluctant to go into a care home, but after a short time, settled well here. She reported she felt safe and supported, and she was clearly well cared for. Her dignity was maintained, and she was encouraged to make her own decisions where possible; she was a valued member of their community. The staff were kind and caring at all times, and very professional. Our mother reported she enjoyed the catering very much. They gave both us and our mother peace of mind during a difficult time. We have no hesitation in recommending this care home and extend a big thank you to all the staff.
The managers and staff at Salisbury House have been, and continue to be, faultless. The level of care my grandad received over his 10-day stay was excellent, which left him willing to return for potential future stays. As a family, we can't thank them enough for all they have done. My grandad has been more receptive and alert as a result. The manager has been incredibly professional and yet totally compassionate to my grandad's needs, and also our needs as a family in what is a challenging time. Again, we can't thank everyone involved enough.
Mum was here for a short while during Covid, March 2021 - August 2021, due to her needing more 1-2-1 care, we had to move Mum to more of a nursing facility. The time Mum was here, she was well looked after by all of the staff, she was always clean. We never got to see inside her room or other parts due to Covid, however, they have a visiting cabin outside, and in the summer, we could sit outside with Mum. Dad was more than happy with all the staff and their fondness towards Mum, and we wished she could have stayed here. The setting in Egerton Park is also lovely, very quiet and secluded, which to us as a family, was important for Mum to be in. Thank you to all the staff who looked after and got to know Mum, and we hope the new place where she is, is as caring as they have been.
In March, my mum, who is 83 and has Alzheimer’s, had a severe water infection; she lost her mobility and speech, so spent quite a while in the hospital and then she went to Salisbury House for 6-weeks to be assessed. Unfortunately, she would now need 24-hour waking care, which sadly we were unable to provide, so she then became resident at Salisbury House. Mum, I’m glad to say, is improving week by week and is so happy there. She absolutely adores the staff, and the treatment she receives is second to none. Every visit she’s immaculately dressed; you can tell her outfit wasn’t just thrown together. So in view of what we have seen over the last few months, this has helped us as a family come to terms with the very difficult decision we had to make. We couldn’t have wished to find a better run place for Mum to go into, and we can’t thank the staff enough for all they do in caring for her. We’ve not seen her this happy in a long time, so a very big thank you to everyone who has made her feel so welcome there.
We have a wonderful mum, who looked after our dad, who suffered from Parkinson's disease for over 30 years; she is a selfless lady, loved by all of our family relatives, as well as us and our friends. The fact that she has dementia (heartbreaking on its own), but is now elderly a very proud, tidy, kind, a huge-hearted lady who was always well kept had to go into a home for care, was a huge decision for us had to make, a choice and thankfully, we chose Salisbury house! When we tell our friends about Mum being there, they all say if the time comes, they will place their relatives there too. They have been trusted to look, love and care for our precious mum, we could go (before Covid) at any time of the day/early evening to see her, so it was never set up that she looked good for us; she always did. Thankfully, she is very happy there, and we are pleased we made the right decision; thank you.
My mother was only a resident for a few months before she passed away, but during that time, she received excellent care and attention from the wonderful staff. All the staff both on the care side and housekeeping were friendly, courteous, and nothing was too much trouble. I would highly recommend this care home.
