View Full Details of The Woodlands Residential HomeThe current owners have been in situ for about two years and are gradually doing any necessary work with consideration for the beautiful old house. The staff are amazing. They know everybody and their quirks and their special needs and go out of their way to help them. The majority of the food is home-cooked. One of the staff let me use her details to video call over Christmas to speak to my partner as I couldn’t get there due to my own health. I never have to worry about his care.
Dad moved into Woodlands back in February 2023 and he has improved no end. He was very subdued and never spoke to anyone. The staff are fantastic and Dad is now back to his happy, jokey self. The care is second to none and they can't do enough for him and all the residents. Food is all home cooked and before Dad moved in he wouldn't eat anything other than bagels and cheese pasties, he now eats a home-cooked meal with meat and vegetables every day. The staff are fabulous and every resident is treated well. They took the pressure off when we most needed it and would highly recommend.
Woodlands cared for Dad for 18-months after Mum passed away. We have nothing but praise for the care and expertise we saw in action. Encompassing the difficult covid period, Woodlands was well-led/manager and the owners were also closet involved. The building was upgraded during Dad's time there, inside and out, whilst retaining its homely feel. Staff turnover appeared low, and with 14 residents, the personal touch was always evident. Mealtimes were well organised, and the response to any occasional issue was open and professional. Each resident has different needs and is treated and an individual. The staff get to know all residents on a personal level. I would recommend it to anyone, whether purely for essential support or more complex need, including dementia care.
My Dad went into Woodlands care home around a week ago. He has settled in well thanks to the kind and caring staff. The manager of the home has been in the care industry for over 20 years having previously been a nurse. She has the experience and skills to run the care home diligently and she is 100% committed to doing so. A genuine interest in the well being of the residents shines through. I have met the majority of the staff now and they are all lovely, I do not know all of the names yet but everyone we have met has been amazing, the assistant manager is lovely and one member of staff, in particular, is a huge credit to the team. It is a difficult decision placing a loved in with an establishment for care and like most families, we worried about it for months, however when the time came we did not need to worry, this team are in my view the best there is.
I have nothing but praise and admiration for the management and staff. My sister is so happy in their care and it puts our minds at rest. I am always made welcome and there's a cup of coffee for me. I have eaten there once or twice and the food was delicious. I tell everyone about the care home and how good everyone is. Keep up the good work everybody and look after yourselves. You are doing a fabulous job.
The Woodlands is a small well run home with a friendly, family atmosphere. My mum really enjoyed her time there particularly the activities and outings. The staff at The Woodlands are truly wonderful. The care and support given to residents and their families are great, they are happy, friendly, welcoming and knowledgeable. Nothing is too much trouble for them. All residents are treated with respect, love, care and dignity. I would recommend this home to anyone.
The Woodlands have cared for my Mother for the last 18 months of her life and the care and patience they showed her could not have been better. They were always friendly, always respectful, but knew her well enough to always respond to her requests (and sometimes her irrational demands) in the way which best served her needs. I cannot thank the staff enough, not only for the wonderful care they gave my Mother but also for the support and friendship they gave to me.
My mother was resident for the last eighteen months of her life. My sisters and I immediately felt fortunate to have found a residential home which met all our needs. Mother's room was clean and freshly decorated with new, good quality furniture, she was able to have her own bed and bedding as well as her beloved recliner chair, but most importantly it was clear that The Woodlands is a well-run ship. The staff ensured Mother was included in activities and introduced to other congenial residents. The manager kept us well informed and regularly consulted us about Mother's care. The happiness of the last months of her life was largely due to the excellent professional care, love and support she received from The Woodlands 'family' of staff.
The love and care that the staff showed to my mother during her last 18 months of life went beyond the call of duty. All the staff knew intuitively how best to deal with the occasional bouts of difficult behaviour resulting from her fierce independence. Sensitive to her needs and generous in their understanding of her foibles, the level of care they provided was simply outstanding. In addition to this, the support that they gave to me, my mother's only locally-based daughter was immeasurable. Discharged from hospital at end of life stage, my mother was, fortunately, able to return to The Woodlands to be nursed through to her death, which could not have been made more peaceful and comfortable. Right to the end the staff painstakingly attended to her every need, showing a compassion that was humbling. I have nothing but praise for all the staff and would not hesitate in recommending The Woodlands to anyone looking for the very best care possible for their loved one.
The staff at "The Woodlands" are so very kind, not only to my sister who is resident with them but also to me when I visit her, making me feel very welcome. They treat me like a friend with a cup of tea and an update. All her other visitors feel the same way, nothing is too much trouble. My sister has settled in really well and is as happy as she can be in her advanced state of dementia.
This care home is the next best thing to being in my own home, the carers of all ages are really quite wonderful. Nothing is too much trouble, my room is lovely, although this is an old building it has been made to feel homely. There is always a very good choice of food but because it is so delicious I have to be careful not to put on too much weight!
The staff at The Woodlands Residential Home are all without exception very caring and attentive at all times. So much extra is done for the resident as far as taking them our for meals, taking them out in the wheelchairs, playing games with them like snakes and ladders when the weather is bad. Also always on hand for me as a visitor for help and advice and a cup of tea. My sister can have visitors at any time which is good.
The care and service are very good. The staff are caring and very helpful, very pleased I was able to get mum a place here.
