View Full Details of Lavender House Residential LtdMy mum moved to Lavender House in early 2024 and settled in very quickly, aided greatly by the support of the care team. The home is always clean, and welcoming and feels very homely. There are regular activities including theme nights, music/singing and visits from a local church. The food is home-cooked and tasty. The outdoor space is used regularly during warmer weather and my mum enjoys sitting out there. Communication with the home is excellent and the manager is always easy to reach with any queries. My dad visits daily and is made to feel very welcome. The staff are friendly and very caring.
Lavender House looked after my Mum for 3 years until she died in August 2024. The manager was superb throughout and whenever there were challenging moments in regard to outside medical help she stuck up for my Mum and kept me informed. Many of the staff loved my Mum and she loved them. The food was extremely nice with a lot of meals made from scratch. There is a nice garden out of the back. It says a lot that my Mum's 4 pallbearers were 4 of the Lavender carers. I couldn't recommend the home highly enough so long as the current management team are in place as in the manager. The only negative I've ever had was an inappropriate letter from the owner who I never actually saw on the premises. The manager dealt with that situation swiftly.
I can't recommend Lavender House, the manager and staff highly enough, absolutely outstanding, from the day-to-day care to the activities that families are invited to attend. My mum went in for restbite and never left she absolutely loved living there, like a home from home. The manager and her staff are friendly yet professional, nothing was too much trouble, they took away the worry of me caring for my mum so I could be her daughter again. Very clean, meals made freshly in their kitchen, they have a lounge with a television, but also a quiet room where residents can relax. If you're looking for somewhere for a family member where they will feel safe, cared for and with dignity I highly recommend you give them a call.
Always professional staff, that go above and beyond to care for everyone at Lavender House and are very supportive towards all so caring and help with all aspects of their job excellent communication, what I've seen and heard, the staff are like angels on earth.
Lavender House looked after my husband for over two years until his recent death. He didn’t settle in too well at first, but with their care and encouragement he began to feel at home and most importantly when I spoke to him he was always cheerful and laughing, which was a great comfort to myself. The staff treated him like a member of their own family. I just cannot praise them enough for all they did for him. A special thank you for getting him back from hospital to spend his last few days at Lavender House, thus enabling all his family to be there at the end. I would recommend Lavender House one hundred percent.
My mum moved into Lavender House in November 2021 and was made to feel very welcome from the moment she stepped through the door. I was constantly kept updated by staff and if I needed anyone to talk to, all I had to do was ring the manager and she would always be free. Mum was a very fiesty person and I am glad the Manager and the team took a chance on her. Mum was always clean and had clean clothes on all the time, mum loved the homemade meals, especially the puddings and would often be caught pinching someone else's biscuits. When mum started to decline in May the Manager and the team were on hand for her and would always let me know what was happening. Mum's last week of June I moved into the home to be with her and the staff could not do enough, they made sure not only my mum but also myself were very well looked after. The day mum died again the Manager was there for me and gave me some time to be alone with mum. November 2022 and the Manager is still there for a chat. Thank you!
Lavender House has supported my dad for almost two years now. From the outset until the present day, the manager, deputies and support staff have provided a fantastic level of care with/for him. They have cheerfully and patiently got to know him as a person really well. And they use this understanding and relationship so well to creatively and carefully support him. My dad was understandably reticent at first to live amongst so many new residents and to have to negotiate a new way of supported life with staff. I think for a long time he now he has enjoyed the company, the safety and security, and the connections and interactions he has with the different staff. The manager and staff liaison with me, and with external care agencies on dad's behalf are prompt, open, friendly and professional. They readily welcome and facilitate telephone contact and visits with dad. In a nutshell, I am so glad and thankful that dad lives at Lavender House!
My mum joined Lavender House in January 2020, just before Covid hit, and I can honestly say Mum was made to feel like a member of one big family from day one. The care Mum receives from every member of staff is outstanding; they truly go above ad beyond for their residents. The home itself is very homely and is always clean and tidy. Residents are allowed to wander freely and have a choice of lounges and different areas to sit in. The food is home-cooked and always smells delicious, and they cater for all needs. They regularly have entertainment such as singing, arts and crafts and pampering afternoons. Communication between the home and myself have always been excellent, whether that's a phone call or email, we are kept up to date with everything. The real gems here are the staff - there isn't a big staff turnover, so the residents get to see a familiar face each day. The manager herself is very hands-on and knows all of the residents, and very often, you find her sitting and ng chatting with residents. Definitely a 100% recommendation.
I have nothing except good things to say about this home. Its the sort of place where instantly you are at ease to leave your loved ones care in their hands. They genuinely love the residents like they are family members. Residents are treated with respect and nothing is too much trouble for them if it will improve their quality of life. I truly felt the staff were guardian angels for my loved one.
All staff do a very good job keeping residents entertained, wiht activities carried out as much as possible. Looked after my mother very well, I was very happy with the care provided, and the home felt very homely.
I cannot rate Lavender House highly enough. It is managed so well and this filters down through the staff who are all so kind, polite and genuinely caring towards all the residents and their families. No matter how busy the staff are, nothing is too much trouble. The home itself is always kept tidy and clean and the home cooked food, I'm reliably informed, is amazing! Overall brilliant and I wouldn't hesitate recommending it to anyone.
My dad lived at Lavender House from January 2020 until his passing in April 2022. As personified by the (very hands on) manager and all the staff, the culture of care was exceptional. I spent time with my dad in five other care homes when he was on respite, prior to his move to Lavender, so I understand what good care feels like. The care and love my dad received at Lavender were totally genuine, meaningful to my dad - and made his final two years of life as good as they could possibly have been. He was loved by the staff (I mean genuinely loved), and who would not want to experience that as they approach the end of their life. I will always be grateful to his care team and so many others who showed my dad warmth, care and patience. The Registered Manager who is extremely hands-on, and she puts her heart and soul into the home and this is reflected in the staff who have been hired and stay long-term, because they embody the culture.
My husband was in this care home for over 2 years. He had Parkinson's and Lewy Body Dementia. All the staff were very caring. At the end of his life in April 1922, I was allowed to sleep in his room so that he could see me and know how much I loved him. I will be forever grateful to the staff at Lavender House. Several of them came to his Requiem Mass.
My Mother in Law went into care during the most difficult period, ie the Covid pandemic, when rules were so tight that we could not even look around the home in advance. We need not have worried, she was cared for brilliantly by the staff, despite her sometimes difficult behaviour due to her Alzheimer's. The staff were patient with her, kind to her,and meet her various needs.
