View Full Details of Astbury LodgeTo my surprise, I have settled well at Astbury Lodge. The carers and staff are friendly and helpful and inmates on the whole are friendly.
My relative is always treated with dignity and respect. Staff are welcoming and have taken time to get to know her. She has been provided with an excellent standard of care in a warm and comfortable environment. There is a good range of activities and residents are supported and encouraged to join in. It really is a home from home and we are lucky to have a place there. I have observed staff supporting residents with genuine care and kindness, alongside a good sense of humour!
Overall impression of Astbury Lodge is very good. The general atmosphere is excellent giving a feeling of well-being for my friend. The staff are bright and cheerful, very supportive and my friend feels very comfortable with them around him. Talking to my friend about the food, he finds it ok and is happy with the quantity he receives. In general, all is ok.
When I visit my mother-in-law at Astbury Lodge, I am always welcomed in with a very warm smile. The staff are always polite, friendly and courteous. My mother-in-law is always full of praise for the way she is treated. She feels safe and secure in her room and enjoys the activities. The food is to a good standard, and she is well cared for.
This month my mum has needed hospital visits and the staff have been amazing at taking her and escorting her and then feeding back to us straight away about how things have gone for her. When she has a bad day they are always there to cheer her up and help her feel better. We are so lucky this was the home chosen for Mum when she left hospital and all the staff are so friendly and helpful.
What can I say the staff are all amazing, nothing is too much trouble. My mum has come along so well since she moved in here. She loves it here. The food is fantastic and freshly made, and my mum can request an alternative if she doesn't fancy what is on the menu. The whole place has a lovely atmosphere.
I was so pleased when you accepted my husband in your care home. Everyone is so lovely and caring and considerate. He always looks neat and tidy and well-dressed. All the carers look after him so well, I couldn't ask for a better service. Thank you to everyone for your kindness and consideration, you all deserve medals.
The home is amazing. Staff are always happy, smiley and so friendly. Dad has never looked better, he is kept clean and shaved and hair done. Activities and events held are really good and all residents always look happy when we visit. Great place.
My auntie aged 101 was still living in her bungalow independently but had increasing mobility problems. After an accident and a hospital stay, she voluntarily entered Astbury Lodge. In the last year, her confidence and activities have returned and her medical welfare ad social needs are met brilliantly by the excellent staff at Astbury Lodge. She now regards this as her home and enjoys the facilities available.
My friend is being very well cared for at Astbury Lodge where she has been living happily for almost a year now. Staff are always very friendly and caring.
We were new to the care system and everything was explained. Every member of staff was pleasant. So many smiles in one place. Everybody seemed happy and engaged in activities. Mum was welcomed with open arms.
Clean, friendly, excellent visuals and activities. Staff really do care about the residents and do their utmost to make their lives more fuller and rewarding. Excellent.
I visit my friend in the care home at least once a week. She has dementia and has recently lost her husband. She is immobile so had to go into care. After five months she seems settled. The staff seem to be courteous and caring which is important to anybody in this situation. The lady who organised events, hair appointments and nails is a credit to her. Her patients and kindness is amazing. Always calling patients by their first names is good practice.
My dad is currently having respite with a view to staying as a full-time permanent resident. The care home is well run, the staff are genuinely caring towards the residents, the ratio of staff to residents is good. They have regular almost daily events and visitors to provide entertainment whether it be quizzes or visits from the local schools to sing. The home is spotlessly clean and everyone is very well looked after. The garden is well maintained and staff are constantly attentive to both residents and visitors. Thank you for looking after my dad like he is one of your own family.
Although Mum has only been in Astbury Lodge for a short while, I am happy that Mum is being well looked after and cared for.
Mum has been a resident since August 2022 and the change in her mental and physical health has been amazing. Despite her declining dementia, Mum is more content and happy. Her weight issues have improved, whenever I visit Mum is encouraged to sit in the day room with the company of other residents rather than being left alone in her bedroom and is dressed nicely. Mum's room is always clean and tidy and the whole care home is spotlessly clean.
Lovely place, really helped my grandad get settled when he moved in. The staff are amazing and go above and beyond for both residents and their family, the updates on Facebook for the activity days are great and show the residents enjoying themselves and have a variety of things to do.
Both of my parents are residents at Astbury Lodge and our family are very happy with the care they receive. The home is lovely and clean and well-run. The carers are very good at their jobs and are so lovely and caring towards the residents. All the staff are excellent. We've always found the manager to be very helpful and supportive of issues we've had. Overall we are very happy with Astbury Lodge.
Dad moved into Astbury Lodge following the passing of my mother. The staff there have been extremely welcoming and sympathetic towards him helping him to settle in and feel at home. He has early Alzheimer’s and requires direction. Whenever I have noticed something that I think needs to be changed the staff have been quick to respond. Eg Dad needs direction to leave the dinner table once a meal has finished to settle in a more comfortable chair, without direction he would remain at the table. Once we informed the staff of this they started to prompt him. Dad is a fussy eater but is eating very well in Astbury Lodge as foods are targeted towards his generation. Dad is unable to shower without assistance and previously was showered every day. I don't believe that the staffing allows daily showering for all residents but Dad is always clean and well-presented. The activities 3 times per week are good and the officer is very encouraging to try and get all of the residents to join in.
Staff at Astbury Lodge have been kind and supportive of my father who has moved here after a recent bereavement. They are focusing on learning his habits and preferences along with including him in appropriate activities.
