View Full Details of Dystlegh GrangeI have been residing here for nearly a year and can honestly say it is a real home from home. Nothing is too much trouble for the staff who are all pleasant and friendly. We are all looked after extremely well.
The care and support my mum receives is outstanding in every way - it is a lovely environment where she can enjoy living as independently as possible whilst getting all the support she needs. The attention given to all aspects to create a comfortable, friendly home is great. There are many activities planned - many of which are open to family and friends. Santa's grotto was a big hit before Christmas!
I came for a two week trial and having gone back home missed the company. Having moved back, I absolutely love it. Great friends, great meals.
Having been involved in supplying the care sector for nearly 40 years with my job, I was well placed to judge "the best care home" for my mum when she could no longer live on her own and needed care. I cannot speak highly enough of the surroundings and ambience at Dystlegh Grange which is more like a hotel than a care home. However, of more importance is the very obvious care, kindness and support all the staff show towards my mum for which I am extremely grateful. Her health, happiness and well-being have improved 100% in the 5 months that she has been living there. She has a beautiful private room which is kept spotless and there is always some activity going on. Not forgetting to mention the excellent food and the odd Baileys! If you have to make the difficult decision to find a care home for a relative then look no further than Dystlegh Grange!
I moved to Dystlegh Grange 14 months ago and have never regretted the move for one moment. Every member of the team has made me feel most welcome and nothing is too much trouble. Standards are extremely high in every department. The facilities are excellent, and the cleanliness and laundry are superb. The food is delicious. We are invited to join in the many activities and celebrations. Relatives and friends are encouraged to visit and are made most welcome. I feel very fortunate to be at Dystlegh Grange.
My sister was a very young and alert 88-year-old when she moved into Dystlegh Grange. When I first saw the place, I couldn't believe it; it was unlike any home I'd seen. Her room is in fact a small suite with a lounge, separate bedroom and bathroom, all beautifully presented. The homely theme is followed in the public areas, where there are several places for entertaining and more quiet nooks and crannies if you just want to sit quietly. All are situated around a central lounge and dining area. My sister has spent several happy years there, stimulated by the various entertainment and nightly crossword! Unfortunately now in her mid-nineties, her health has deteriorated, but the care and attention is second to none. I know she is very happy, has a special relationship with her carers and wouldn't want to be anywhere else. I am always kept aware of any health problems or requirements. The manager/owner leads by example and frankly, the home and residents are his life. A unique place.
Having been expertly cared for at Dystlegh Grange for the past 5 years, Mum developed a complication from previous surgery requiring palliative care. In hospital for 4 weeks while Dystlegh Grange literally became a second home for my sister (south of London) me (near Dundee). We worked a 3-day-on-and-off shift system with Dystlegh supporting us while Mum was an in-patient. Finally, Mum was discharged for palliative care. Dystlegh was again able to help mum in her final days. Washed, dressed and encouraged, mum made a remarkable improvement on her return even though we knew this would not last long. When mum deteriorated and were able to spend the final 48 hrs with her in her own home, surrounded by her own things and with her own close family. The managers and the team were sensitive to all our needs. Dystlegh liaised superbly with the NHS and allowed the family to be together for the last time. Care, compassion and sensitivity were in abundance during mum's final days. Thank you.
My mother and I 'discovered' Dystlegh Grange about 12 years ago having visited about a dozen other Care Homes in the area. We were immediately impressed and when the time came my mother moved in. She's now 100 and has been a resident there for ten years. During that time, the whole family has got to know the place extremely well and we all think it is fantastic. My mother has a suite of rooms which are furnished with some of her own possessions so that it feels a bit like being home from home. There is always something going on and everyone is encouraged to take part. Each occasion feels like a big family gathering. The staff are outstanding. They all go above and beyond to ensure that the residents receive the very best love and care. This morning, I thanked one of them for everything that she was doing and she simply replied 'I just look after her as if she was my own mother.' I cannot rate Dystlegh Grange too highly. It is quite simply the best care home I've ever visited.
My grandma spent 7 years living at Dystlegh Grange, 7 very happy years. The staff, from management to maintenance, are excellent and always went the extra mile to make my grandma feel safe and cared for. We have many happy memories of the Grange and her great-grandchildren remember fondly their visits and walking around the gardens with her. Thank you to everyone who made it a special place for her, we are eternally grateful.
Dystlegh Grange is a magnificent residential home, providing an exceptionally high standard of facilities, which are second to none. Everything about the home is amazing, accommodation, staff, care, food, in-house entertainment by visiting artists (pianists, choirs) and celebrations etc, to mention just a few. Also, various charity events are held in the home for residents and visitors. The welcome that we, as members of the local parish church receive, is exceptionally warm; we provide a Holy Communion service monthly for everyone. We feel part of their 'family'. I was invited to join the residents for lunch, which I can recommend; it was first-class quality! Residents have their own comfortable private, ensuite rooms with their own furniture if they wish. They can stay in their rooms or socialise in the lounge. They say it's like a first-class hotel. I recommend Dystlegh Grange as a very top-quality residential home and well deserving of its already 'outstanding' rating.
As a member of the team from our Disley Parish Church we visit each month to do a service. We all receive a warm welcome from both staff and residents. The service is usually Holy Communion where most of the residents attending and some staff participate.
Dystlegh Grange is a very caring environment for all the residents. Every attention is given to the individual resident. I cannot recommend Dystlegh Grange highly enough. My Father was a resident some 20 + years ago and my husband and we still visit regularly. Outings and special days such as St George's Day yesterday are recognised, celebrated and enjoyed. This is a happy home.
A most caring and respectful environment where each resident is treated with individuality and dignity. Great long serving attentive staff, together with newer members who share similar values, know and understand the needs of the residents and they strive to attain the best possible care. Well appointed in generous grounds in a leafy suburb, it is an ideal setting for such a residential home with care. My father has been in Dyslegth Grange for 18 months. I could not wish for a better place for him to reside in his latter years where he needs care and compassion. He attends many of the social events which entertain and stimulate him and enjoys the company of the fellow residents. I cannot speak highly enough of Dystlegh Grange.
When our father died, we looked at a number of homes but our mother said the only one she would consider was Dystlegh Grange. Now nearly ten years later, we have all been delighted by the way the staff has looked after her and indeed the whole family when we visit. On Christmas Day, our 99-year-old mother was very unwell and we witnessed, firsthand, how the whole team did everything that they possibly could to ensure that she received the professional care that she required and that the family was kept fully informed throughout. Thankfully our mother bounced back and yesterday when we went to see her, she had just had her hair done and enjoyed welcoming us to lunch in her home. As always the staff updated us on how she was, and demonstrated by their words and actions how fond they are of her, and she of them. This does not happen by accident. The leadership is superb and all the staff go above and beyond what might be expected of them. The team is outstanding.
Dystlegh Grange was my mother’s home for the last six years and I have witnessed the outstanding care given to her over this time. I have no doubt that the quality of the staff, the environment and the ethos of everyday life helped to make this period of her life as fulfilling as it could. She was always treated with respect and after many setbacks in her health she was given the encouragement and support to regain as much of her mobility as possible. COVID brought its challenges, but every effort was made by the staff to keep everyone safe. As well as offering exceptional care, the staff ensured the wellbeing of all residents by creating a stimulating environment with special themed activities. The effort they put in was remarkable. Now restrictions have eased, family members are always welcome to visit and the staff have continued to go above and beyond in all the many interesting events they organise. We cannot thank Dystlegh Grange enough.
My mum made her home at Dystlegh Grange in 2016. At the time it was a difficult decision, but since the move she has never looked back. Residents and their families are treated with respect by every member of this great team. The care is exceptional, the food is remarkable, the housekeeping team are always on hand. Standards never slip and the safety and wellbeing of all the residents is paramount. Following my mum's recent stay in hospital, I am again very grateful to the staff for their care and efforts with her ongoing recovery, it has given me and my family peace of mind knowing she is being so well looked after. To the whole team, keep doing what you do so well, you are without doubt ‘outstanding’.
Always a good experience when visiting. The team are amazing and treat my parents with respect, but also bring fun and laughter. We are always welcome to join for a meal that is tasty and of restaurant standard.
The staff at Dystlegh Grange are the ‘Dream Team!’ This is a care home which is more like a hotel. The residents are very much treated as though that is their home, but with people around to care for and look after them. Their, health and well-being of every resident is of utmost importance. The meals are incredible, they are invited to join in with a varied range of in-house activities and outings, and the cleaning and laundry are fabulous, in short, Dystlegh goes the extra mile and they are outstanding.
My mother has been in Dystlegh Grange for 4 years. The support and respect she is treated with, and us as her family, has always been nothing short of excellent. During her time at Dystlegh Grange, she has moved to a bigger room which could have been a little traumatic, but the staff handled the situation calmly and in a very controlled and relaxed manner.
