My mother-in-law had been a resident at The Elms for almost 2 years. We,as a family, cannot thank the staff enough for the care ,kindness and compassion shown to her during that time,we were so reassured to know that she was safe and comfortable. We found every member of staff and indeed the manager to be friendly ,approachable and professional, going above and beyond for all the residents ,treating them with dignity and respect. The home is a little dated ,however ,the domestic staff work tirelessly to ensure high standards of cleanliness throughout. Food is homecooked, plentiful and of a high standard ,with plenty of drinks provided throughout the day.We cannot recommend highly enough, thank you.
Two weeks of respite was required and The Elms provided immediate care. It was reassuring to know all needs were being met and all were safe. I was contacted when there were concerns and I was reassured of actions taken. The staff are all very friendly, approachable and knowledgeable.
I cannot recommend this care home highly enough. To know that a family member is safe and taken care of is wonderful. From all the staff, to make a snack in the middle of the night to personally getting items if the person cannot get to the shop. I have known many care homes in the past 10 years or so and there is not one that can hold a candle to The Elm, the staff have such a relaxing lovely manner and genuinely care about their residents. You can call anytime no restrictions, it is constantly being cleaned, the manager and her staff do an amazing job on probably a very restricting budget. This care home should be outstanding on any register and the staff should be thanked and appreciated for the standout services they offer. They go above and beyond their jobs. Thank you and well done.
My mum was originally admitted for a short-stay bed. The care shown to my mum has had and continues to be first class. Management is visible and easy to access. The care staff are warm, and friendly and show compassion and empathy to all residents. I am a nurse of 30 years and it takes a lot to impress me and I have very high standards however I have not been disappointed. Medication rounds are safe and given correctly, residents are given lots of drinks throughout the day and food is of good standards. The home is so clean and the domestics work so hard to keep the home clean. This home is like an extended family and I am just praying that my mum gets a permanent bed here as she has now decided to stay in residential care and has settled so well. Thank you The Elms Team for letting me rest knowing my precious mum is so well looked after!
My husband has been to The Elms several times. This year, I have found the manager very helpful in arranging respite. He is always happy there and finds the staff warm and friendly. He always says how ell he is looked after, and the food is excellent.
I was in respite care for two weeks after I had a hip replacement. The staff were very helpful and caring. I was very impressed with all the staff I came into contact with. They were looking after some very disabled people; their care and kindness were super.
My mum was only in the home for a short period of time but I cannot thank the staff enough for their care, support and diligence. The Elms is a lovely place, very homely and calm and I would happily recommend it to others for their relatives who require residential care.
My wife and I were thankful of my mother in laws care at The Elms. It was a huge blessing at a troubled time for us all. All the staff were fantastic, friendly people and a real credit to the caring profession and should be very proud of themselves and the work they provide. I would have no hesitation in recommending The Elms to anyone!
My dad has been at The Elms for a fair few years after him having 2 strokes. He can be a handful at times and can take his frustration out on the staff but no matter what he has said or done they do not take it to heart and help him in his daily routine. All staff are fantastic with him and will always bend over backwards for him as well as the other residents, they are great with them all, I couldn't ask for better carers for my dad.
When visiting my uncle today the home was very clean and tidy, staff are very helpful and friendly. Although it’s an old building and outdated, staff have made it look lovely and welcoming and are doing their best for it to look nice. My uncle is very happy here and has been a resident for 3 years or over if he needs anything staff go above and beyond to support him, nothing is too much trouble, can’t thank them enough keep up the good work.
The resident was happy in The Elm, although only there for a short period of time, we could not fault the staff. Her only complaint was the food could have been better. The resident passed away on 28th January 2023 with one of the carers with her.
Excellent care, have helped me to regain my confidence and become totally independent. So I am able to return to my own home. Exceptionally brilliant staff in all departments, catering for all my various needs. Have given me more understanding of other people's needs and not just to care about myself. Gold star all around.
I found all the staff very friendly, nothing too much trouble. They were short-staffed some days though, and one or two little things did get overlooked because of this. I should like to mention when serving food out, they should wear gloves, plus long hair needed putting up out of the way, as a lot of staff did this, but not everyone. I thought the doctor should have made an appearance during the three weeks I was there, but that's up to doctors I expect. Overall, staff we're friendly, helpful, they do as much as possible. Managers and office staff - excellent.
My mum has just spent 4 weeks in respite at The Elms in Crewe after her accelerated dementia during the difficult times of Covid. It was so very hard at 89 taking her from her own home which she had previously loved and lived safely for so long. I can't praise the manager, assistant manager, and the entire team for looking after her so very well. Also, they were so caring and supportive to my brother and I at such a difficult and emotional time. We were particularly impressed with how the chef worked hard to find tasty food for his only vegetarian resident! It was a real family atmosphere and an incredible testimony to the hard work and challenges faced and the dedication of carers all over the country - especially during Covid. Thank you so very much!
My brother, who they care for, is extremely happy as they look after him extremely well and I am very happy for him to be in a care home with dedicated staff and all the help they give him and as he is on end of life, they could not do as much as they are doing for him.
I spent 7 months at The Elms after my home was badly damaged by fire. At that time I was confined to a wheelchair having had my leg amputated4 months earlier. The staff were very caring and helpful and gave me every encouragement when I was learning to walk on a prosthetic leg. By the time my home had been repaired and adapted to my needs, I felt I was saying goodbye to friends, not staff.
I came out of hospital and was not strong enough to look after myself. I came to The Elms for respite reasons. My strength, energy and outlook improved tremendously. A very focused and caring staff. If I need respite again, I will have The Elms as top of my list.
My mother spent a happy 14 months here at Elms.
My mother was very happy at The Elms. All the staff were really helpful, polite and very friendly. Also, the ladies in management were always very helpful to us. The food was really good and they always made the home feel like home. Thank you.
More than a care home, a home from home. All staff caring and home is spotless. My mum was very happy here for three years in a lovely room thanks to all staff. I was always made so welcome and my mum was treated so well by all staff.
