View Full Details of Florence Grogan HouseWhen I walk into Florence Grogan you feel at home. All the staff including management make me feel welcome. The home smells clean and all the residents who I speak to are very happy. My ex husbands Nan has been in Florence Grogan since November 2023 and I can honestly say I've never seen her so happy. When I come to visit the staff offer my a hot drink and can not do enough. The care staff are so attentive to all the residents which is amazing to see.
I find most of the staff pleasant and polite but there is an exception. I visit a lady who is elderly and she is very happy with the care she receives but will always say that the majority of carers (staff) are good with her and have time for her but there are exceptions.
My dad became a resident of Florence Grogan House after a number falls at the beginning of this year. I find the staff to be caring and friendly and treat my dad with dignity. They took the time to understand his needs and make him welcome. The managers have been very generous with their time and have helped me through the process. Thank you.
My mother was well looked after by the staff and management who always had time for her. Mum was very happy there.
The carers at Florence Grogan House set up the room for my Mum's birthday party and the room looked great. The carers really look after my Mum and make her feel safe and taken care of. She really enjoyed her party on 01/04/2024.
My mother was reluctant to leave her home, understandably after so long in the same house, but the manager and staff put her mind at rest over the move. From the start she was made welcome, and treated with love and affection by the staff. This greatly helped ease her transition, and continues to do so. Thanks to all the management and staff at Florence Grogan House!
I came to the home for two weeks respite, all the staff made me welcome and nothing was too much trouble. I would recommend Florence Grogan House to everyone, the food is excellent and the staff are so kind, had my hair cut by a wonderful hairdresser. Please keep up the good work. I hope to return soon.
My mum was at Florence Grogan for nearly 15 months, unfortunately, she passed away. My pain of losing Mum was greatly eased by the management and staff. The care she received was exceptional -nothing was too much trouble. When I stayed the night before her passing, a staff member finished work and came back with tea for myself and my husband - so kind and thoughtful. I will always be in debt to these lovely people who make a real heart-felt difference in difficult times. You are all truly amazing, and it needs recognising.
My mother was here for two weeks of respite the moment we walked into Florence Grogan we were made welcome by all the staff the carer my 97-year-old mother received was fantastic and we will always be grateful to you.
Thank you for taking excellent care of my grandmother even though she doesn't know who we are. I know she is surrounded by the kindest, most caring people and I thank you for that. Keep up the good work.
I am very happy with my mother's care. I am so pleased that she is so well looked after. The dining tables at Christmas were wonderful, you could have been in a five-star hotel. The activities and outings are well thought out. The staff are very caring towards all the residents, who are happy when I chat to them. Well done Florence Grogan House, big thanks.
On first impression I found Florence Grogan House to be a warm, welcoming place, a little chaotic which I liked. The staff seemed happy and friendly to residents and families (it's hard to put a loved one into care when they have always said they never wanted to go). My father is not a mixer so the activities though varied were not for him. Not having had any dealings with care homes before the price was a bit of a shock but money paid for heating, lighting, cleaning, staffing, washing and meals so not complaining. We went into this with a lot of trepidation but it has turned out as a positive experience for both my father and I. The fear has gone and would if necessary seek to place him back there, no qualms at all, even from him.
My mother stayed at Florence Grogan for a short period, during which she was treated with overwhelming care and dignity by the wonderful staff. The manager was such a caring and supportive person both to my mother and the family. We will always be so very grateful for the love and support we all received whilst my mother was at Florence Grogan.
My husband had a lovely relaxing week of respite care. It's his 2nd visit and he likes it. Having familiar, friendly people to welcome him is so good for his confidence. It's a very well-run, efficient and friendly care home. Well done all of the team, and thank you!
The staff do all they can to ensure residents receive high levels of care. They keep relatives up to date and are excellent communicators. The manager has high levels of visibility and is approachable and always happy to help. Admission to the home is conducted in a sensitive manner, offering reassurance to residents and their families.
From the minute Mum arrived at the care home, she was welcomed by the manager and all the staff on duty. The care home has such a homely feel, and my mind was put to rest knowing Mum would fit in. It's 4 months on, and she is so at home; she has improved so much and couldn't be happier. I can't thank all the staff enough for their ongoing care and support.
I arrived two days ago not knowing what to expect, everybody is friendly and smiley. Nothing is too much trouble, they do not mind how many questions you ask, no matter how silly it may be. That goes for nighttime too. I am not a good sleeper, they encourage me to go back to bed, no matter how many times I got up, with nothing but kindness, even to middle of the night cup of tea.
Our dad went into the dementia household at Florence Grogan House. Putting a loved one into care was a difficult decision for us and we were grateful to all of the staff for reassuring us that they would care and support Dad as he settled in. They kept the family informed as to his progress in the early days and continued to update us over the following weeks. The manager and his team all contribute to caring for the residents and go out of their way to ensure that they are kept safe and that their individual care needs are met. We were able to visit as often as we liked and were always made to feel welcome. It was a happy place to be, and the staff put a smile even during the most challenging of times.
My mum has been here a while now, it took time for her to settle and accept her new surroundings but the staff played a big part in that with their care and support. Mum is very happy here now and is a popular resident, but again, that's down to the management and his staff making you feel safe, comfortable and happy. I was made to feel very welcome when I visited Mum. Overall, a lovely, happy atmosphere at the home.
It is an extremely emotional time taking your mum away from her home for the last time. Arrived at the care home and the staff were absolutely amazing, so caring, friendly and welcoming. As time has gone on, I have no worries about the level of care, from management to domestics, my mum receives from them. It is, and feels, very homely and a pleasure to visit.
