View Full Details of GleavewoodI chose Gleavewood for my sister because it is small, friendly and calm. 3 staff members in particular were down to earth and helpful. Move from CareHome on South Coast was a worry. We needed staff who understood and would cater to my Sister's particular needs. So far I am pleased. One member of staff is very involved and deals with any problems. One thing, perhaps big TV could be tuned to suitable i.e Nature/Sport programmes.
My Mother and I moved from the south coast just before Christmas. Mum has Dementia so the move was something I faced with trepidation. The Staff have all been so kind and welcoming and made the transition as smooth as possible. All queries and issues are handled efficiently and nothing is too much trouble. I cannot thank the team enough for helping to settle Mum into her new home.
My uncle has been in the home for about 3 months after slowly getting worse living with dementia. It's been a difficult time for all involved but he's happy and he's getting the best care possible. Thank you to the staff who are all lovely.
My mum is really happy here. She is treated with dignity and respect. The staff are all wonderful and as visitors, we are welcomed with warmth. I am truly thankful that I know Mum is safe and well cared for.
Dad has been with them for a couple of weeks and they are just so so kind with him. The nurses are terribly patient, they've even got him smiling, not an easy task. I would thoroughly recommend Gleavewood, the nurse is outstanding with Dad. The place could do with a lick of paint, but never have I visited a care home where they genuinely care about their clients and treat them in a friendly manner but are very professional. 10 out of 10 and if I could vote more I would.
My father has been based at Gleavewood for 3.5 months now. He has been made to feel at home. The staff have built a fantastic rapport with him and I'm truly grateful for this. They are friendly and do such a wonderful job. They even make my mother feel at home when she visits every day. Thank you for your help, it is a pleasure to see you all when I visit the care home.
My mum moved into Gleavewood in August 2024 having lived in the same hour for 72 years. This was very upsetting for us all. However, everyone at Gleavewood made this trauma as painless as possible. The care my mum receives is 5-star. The staff cannot do enough for my mum and she has settled really well.
Mum went into Gleavewood after living independently, unfortunately, she lost her independence and needed 24-hour care. Gleavewood has been marvellous, very compassionate and caring. We are delighted at how she has settled, nothing is too much trouble for the staff at what was an extremely difficult time for me and my sister.
Always a warm and homely welcome when we visit. The standard of care is excellent and everyone is always chatting and engaging with the residents. A nice atmosphere with always something to watch or listen to and everyone seems to acknowledge all the residents and say hello when passing by. We know our mum enjoys the food and she has just what she likes and needs, the staff understand the different needs and where they can cater for them. The attention to her cleanliness and appearance and helping her to dress is fantastic. Just the small things like knowing her favourite pyjamas, that can really make a big difference. Thank you!
My brother was placed in Gleavewood for a period of respite having suffered a stroke. The care he received was excellent. The home has a very friendly atmosphere, all the staff are cheerful, kind and helpful and the manager was exceptionally understanding and supportive of his needs. Thank you.
I visit the care home quite regularly to visit my auntie. I always feel welcome and there is a lovely atmosphere throughout the home. My auntie has settled in well and is very happy it feels like home for her and like a family. Well done to all the staff for making this home special! The home is clean, tidy and welcoming.
The staff are lovely warm and welcoming at Gleavewood, the residents look so comfortable and happy. Some were knitting and having tea and biscuits when I visited. The food that I saw being prepared looked delicious too. The building inside looks clean and safe.
My dad came to Gleavewood in May 2024 and absolutely loves it. The staff are really caring and very approachable. The manager runs a well-organised home and there is a warm friendly welcoming atmosphere there. I have no concerns that my dad is getting the best possible care there.
As soon as you walk through the door, you can feel the warmth, love and caring that is Gleavewood. My mum first came on respite, but actually asked to stay permanently. The staff are amazing, nothing is too much trouble. The meals are wonderful and the home is spotless. Mum always thought of it as her home and she was so happy and content there, I loved visiting her there, everyone was so welcoming, and I always knew Mum was happy and well looked after, sadly Mum had to move on due to needing nursing care, but we both miss the home very much.
The staff in all departments are welcoming and supportive. Residents are treated with respect and individual's needs considered. My mother comments that all the staff have smiles and are friendly, which is very reassuring to me.
We found the staff at Gleavewood very caring and helpful to our aunt even though it was a short stay. They were all very kind to her and also made us as a family very welcome.
When it was decided by my mum that she wanted to go into respite she was taken into Gleavewood and was going to stay for 2 weeks to see if she liked it with a view to her living there permanently. It only took 2 days for her to decide she wanted to stay. What a gem of a place this is. The manager and staff are truly amazing, they take very good care of my mum, she has a lovely room which is always clean and tidy, the whole home is spotless. They have entertainment and activities which Mum really enjoys, and the meals they provide are outstanding. You can visit any time you like which is great for me. Can honestly say wouldn't want my mum to be anywhere else.
Our friend, a resident of Gleavewood care home since July 2023 has received excellent care. The staff are friendly and welcoming and go to great lengths to ensure her every comfort. The home is consistently clean and fresh and her room is always well-kept. Laundry is collected promptly and returned beautifully ironed the same day. She enjoys the food and is well-settled and happy there. Happy to recommend Gleavewood.
The home is a very friendly environment, with all the carers and staff coming across as very approachable and helpful. My mum has settled in the home very quickly and I feel she is very safe and well cared for. The home appears to be well organised with all staff efficient in their respective roles. There are also regular activities being carried out for the residents to take part in should they choose to do so. My initial impressions are that the home is very clean and well-maintained with all the expected safety features installed or available.
The staff are friendly and professional and most importantly kind. My relative originally came to Gleavewood for respite care and stayed to become resident until the end of her life. She was treated with dignity and respect and became fond of the carers. Her care was adapted as my relative’s needs changed and her wishes were consulted and taken into account. I was able to phone and receive updates on my relative’s health and well-being which was reassuring for me as I live a long way from Gleavewood.
