View Full Details of MayfieldsMy mum has been a resident of Mayfields Ellesmere Port since June 2022. Her care has been exemplary. The transition to the home was a little rough for my mum, but the staff made sure she was given lots of attention and made her feel very comfortable. Mum loves the staff and her face lights up with their interactions. It really has become a home away from home. Both the carers and the administration staff are approachable and always answer any questions or concerns. The facility is always exceptionally clean. The kitchen staff are very friendly and the meals are varied and thoughtfully prepared. During my visits, I have continued to watch the patient and loving interactions the carers have with all of the residents and I would not hesitate to recommend Mayfields to anyone who is looking for care for their loved one.
My mum has been a resident of Mayfields since November 2019. So she’s been cared for all during the pandemic and beyond. I have no concerns about her care. She has been looked after excellently. The staff also treat my father and I with respect and answer any concerns we have. I would not have any hesitation in recommending this care home to those who need it. All staff do their best sometimes under very difficult situations and all greet you with smiles on their faces. My mum has been very settled in her surroundings. The staff went out of their way to treat those of us with mums to a Mothering Sunday afternoon tea. It was a very special moment for me as a daughter. I can still after all this time recommend Mayfields and my wish is for my mum to remain there.
My mum was well cared for whilst I was in hospital. She really enjoyed her stay joining in activities and getting her hair and nails done. Even though it was planned for later date Mayfields were able to take my mum on early with having an early c-section and then my baby having surgery. Can't thank them enough. When I phoned the carers were giving updates and advising and enjoyed having her. When visited Mayfields originally I was impressed with the cleanliness and food menu. My mum can be fussy but ate well. I was also impressed with the care for other patients and had heard how good Mayfields were with a friend's uncle whilst he stayed there.
Mayfields Ellesmere Port has provided my father with the best care that we could have hoped for in a care home environment. There is a homely atmosphere and staff are, generally, kind, caring and compassionate towards the residents and welcoming to relatives/friends. There are religious services and activities for the residents, some of which relatives/friends are actively encouraged to participate in. The choice of menu and quality of food provided is of a high standard.
I am quite happy that recently you have decided to put in more permanent staff as they know the patients better and are more familiar with them and know their needs and their behaviour. The only thing I suggest if possible, when the weather is good, especially for residents who can’t move, take them with the help of family to the garden for a change.
My husband came to live at Mayfields a year ago, and he is still there. I can’t put into words the love and care that he receives at every level, every day. He is only 66, and I was incredibly frightened when he first went in, not knowing what to expect. I have complete confidence that he is in the right place, and I am once again his wife, not his carer. Everyone has also looked after me, as well as him. I’ve shed many a tear, and have had many hugs, but also lots of laughs. You are all very special people, and I thank you for every day. Even at the end of a long shift, when you must be worn out, you still smile. You’re incredible. The managers are always there for a chat, nothing is too much trouble. Nothing is ever perfect, but this is a very special place, that strives for the best all the time. I would confidently recommend it as a place for your loved one to live.
My father has been at Mayfields for over two years now and is very well cared for, in what is a homely environment. Most of the staff are excellent and are very caring, but some of the temporary weekend staff are not as well engaged with the residents. The food appears to be very good, and the facilities are kept very clean. The ensuite bathrooms would benefit from an upgrade, but generally, the facilities are good and suitable for people with dementia. Activities have improved lately, and the introduction of visiting small animals, such as the chicks, really lifts the residents. The senior carers do keep us well informed on any medical issues that arise, which is reassuring. On occasion, the personal care is not as good as we would hope for, but generally, Dad is clean and presentable each day. It was a hard transition placing Dad into care, but I think that Mayfields is probably the best in its field, in this locality, and we thank the staff for their continued care for Dad.
Mum has been in Mayfields since December 2023. We had to make quite a quick decision in our choice of home, but I think we were very lucky. The residents are treated with respect, dignity and good humour. Mum has taken part in various activities, not all to her taste, but the staff are very encouraging and patient. Communication, especially regarding medical matters, has been very good, be it by phone calls, email or face-to-face. The staff also greet visitors with a friendly smile, kind words and often a cup of tea! Any concerns we have had have been dealt with quickly and always with Mum's best interests at heart.
I find that Mayfields is a top-class home run by excellent management and excellent teams in all departments. I visit regularly and can see that the residents are looked after above and beyond. I am so glad that I chose Mayfields to look after my wife.
My husband has been in the care home for almost 2 years. He is and always has been happy to be there. The staff are very caring making sure my husband's needs are met. It is a lovely bright, light, and comfortable establishment with plenty of space for people, such as my husband to walk around and sit whenever he wants to. I am very pleased that I chose this care home for him and wouldn't want him to be anywhere else whilst his present needs are being met.
MY mum was looked after so lovely and nothing was too much trouble for the caring staff. The home (Mayfields) is very warm and comfortable, the food is amazing, the bedrooms are nice and homely. The activities are plentiful including music therapy, church services, crafts, quizzes etc and residents are encouraged to participate. I can't thank the staff enough for treating Mum with respect and love and for caring for us too as a family when Mum fell ill. You truly are angels - thank you from the bottom of my heart.
I visited a family friend on March 17th 2023. She was in good spirits. Her physical appearance was good and she appeared to be very hungry and quickly consumed the cakes I had brought for us to share. The care home maintained a good standard of cleanliness and order. The staff were friendly and helpful.
This is a very good home from home for the residents. The staff are very conscientious and professional.
Staff are very friendly, Mum is always happy and well cared for by all the staff. Excellent home. Kept informed about any issues which may arise with Mum's health etc. Would highly recommend Mayfields care home to anyone.
My mum has thrived since she has lived in this home. Staff make an effort to really get to now her and us as a family. I've always felt very welcomed into the home. My mum is treated with dignity and staff pick upon her fun nature and sing and dance with her. I feel she is loved by them. Hats off to the staff - they're amazing.
My mother has been at Mayfields since the beginning of August 2022. So far we are very happy with the care she has been receiving. Many of the carers are so lovely and sociable/interactive with residents and my mum has already made good connections with many of them. The place is light, airy and always has a lovely warm atmosphere.
My mother is being looked after very well in Mayfields. She is treated with dignity and with understanding. The staff team are kind and supportive. I receive phone calls informing me about Mum's care needs. If Mum has had a fall we are informed immediately. Mum's clothes are clean. Her hair is washed and cut regularly and, importantly, her nails are out and often varnished. Food is excellent. One or two more activities each week would be good.
Lovely comfortable and homely residence. Staff are very helpful and friendly to ensure Mum's stay is an enjoyable experience. Lots of activities take place on a daily basis and staff encourage the residents to join in. Overall, a safe and well-organised care home.
Mum is currently a resident here. I have to commend the staff for their level of care and due diligence. They are truly lovely in their dealings with Mum and speak with genuine fondness and compassion. It’s been difficult given Covid but staff are well trained and do their utmost to keep residents safe. I have been impressed with the range of activities available to the residents and management are always accessible and available.
My mother has been a resident of Mayfields for several years now and I have nothing but praise for their care and professionalism. Since before the complexities of COVID, the staff of the home have been consistently caring and supportive of my mother. The staff handled the COVID difficulties really well and gave me confidence and reassurance that she would receive the best of care. The meals provided are of a very high standard. I live in Florida, USA so being far away, it is important to know that my mother is so well cared for. I have no hesitation in recommending Mayfields to anyone considering making it a home for themselves or their loved one. Although the review date is December 2021, my comments apply to the more extended period that my mother has been resident at Mayfields.
