View Full Details of New Milton HouseMy father who is 102 moved into New Milton House in February this year, and I couldn't be happier with the level of care Dad receives. Dad suffers from chronic dementia and isn't always the easiest person to deal with. But whatever his mood he gets the care and support he needs. I cannot say there haven't been the odd bump in the road and things have occasionally gone amiss. But the manager and her team have always listened and resolved any issues I had with a minimum of fuss. I would have no hesitation in recommending New Milton House to both friends and family.
My mum was initially in respite care at New Milton House she has now moved to a more permanent placement. Each time I've been in contact with staff at the home, either by telephone or in person I've always been impressed by how friendly and helpful they are. I've witnessed first-hand various interactions with my mum from staff members and they are always jovial and affirmative, which suits my mum's character. It really seems like my mum has settled in well at the home and it's just reassuring to know that her daily care needs are being met in such a caring way.
My stepmother has been a resident at New Milton House for about 21 months and over that time I have come to be impressed by the high quality of care provided. While the sound physical aspects of the home speak for themselves in providing a safe and healthy environment, it is the less tangible aspects of care that have particularly earned my respect. My mother was a reluctant and somewhat resentful new resident seeming to find her admission stigmatising but the kindly attitudes of the staff, the happy ambience created by them and the stimulation provided by the activities have brought about a surprising and complete about-face so that she is now a happy and enthusiastic participant in the life of the home. Staff go out of their way to create opportunities for relatives and friends to share in the life of residents by way of special events and individual celebrations. I have no reservations whatsoever in recommending New Milton House for people in need of residential care.
My mum now lives in this wonderful care home. It was her 88th birthday at the weekend and having had a family meal with her Mother’s Day, we asked if we could have a little afternoon tea party for her with close family, the response was “of course”. The staff arranged the event perfectly for us, we did it as a surprise and Mum was delighted. The visits for meals have shown us exactly how tasty the food is. New Milton House is always clean, Mum's room is bright and airy and the staff are always smiling and friendly. I keep an eye on the online page and although Mum can’t always remember what she has been up to I can jog her memory because I’ve seen the many activities she joins in with. My mum was a florist and loves the flower arranging and gardening club, she likes the pamper days where she gets her nails painted, the visits from animals and the sports activities provided. I would highly recommend this care home to anyone.
The staff are extremely pleasant and helpful. I have no issues with my mum's care.
My stepmother has been in the home now for over 12 months and is quite settled and reasonably happy with the treatment and care delivered by all the staff. Medical care via nurse and doctor are readily available when required.
Our family have been incredibly impressed with the care, patience, and understanding that all the staff at New Milton House have shown Dad since he arrived in May 2023. He settled into life so quickly. Given his initial resistance to leaving his home and moving into care, we were worried about how well he would adjust. However, we needn’t have. He is happy, comfortable, feels safe and is enjoying a much more socially active lifestyle. He particularly enjoys the in-house activities, especially baking, outings to local coffee shops, clubs, and churches. Following social media we see that he's always involved in all of these. The collective efforts of all the staff at New Milton House have transformed what could have been a challenging time for Dad and our family into a truly stress-free, seamless transition. Knowing that he is now surrounded by caring individuals and enjoying his days without loneliness or fear in his previously confused world means more to us than words can express.
New Milton House staff are unfailingly kind and friendly whenever I visit. My relative is well cared for and seems noticeably better in terms of personal bodily care and relief of worry than he was when living alone with increasing health issues. Staff have been able to arrange small comforts, such as regular newspaper delivery. My relative doesn't seem to join in with social life there, but then he's always been a loner. The home smells nice! (Not all care homes do!) There was, for a time, difficulty getting let in to visit, but this seems to have been sorted out by use of different doorbells. I'm having difficulty getting a statement of account from head office. I feel fortunate to be able to have my relative cared for so well so near to my home. Thank you.
Greatly appreciated all the help, kindness, care and respect that you all gave my mum in her final days. Thank you.
All the staff at New Milton House made our mum's final months as comfortable and caring as possible. At all times we felt she was in great hands and all the staff who we spoke to never found it too much trouble to take time out of their busy schedules to answer our questions on her welfare. Each and every one of you are a credit to New Milton. Thank you.
New Milton House is a very caring environment. The staff are very friendly, helpful and sympathetic to individual needs. The staff all work together (this includes the carers, catering staff, domestic help and the caretaker/maintenance team). I put my trust in everyone to look after my mum.
We chose New Milton House for my nan back in December 2021. We couldn’t be happier with the care she is receiving since moving here. It was overwhelming for her at first with being in a ‘new home', but all the staff have made her feel so welcome and we’ve seen such an improvement in her. She’s back to her cheeky self. The staff are so accommodating and have such a friendly and approachable nature to them and are so very compassionate in their ways. I can’t thank them enough for everything they do. They go above and beyond. Thank you for everything that you all do and for making me at feel at ease knowing my nan is in a safe and loving community.
We've found New Milton House to be a safe, clean, comfortable and very caring home. We're really pleased with how well our mother has settled in. She feels safe and well cared for. She's relaxing, eating well and enjoying the social interaction with the daily activities and at meal times. Overall it gives us piece of mind that she's in the right place and is being well cared for.
Mum has been a resident at New Milton House for over two years now and she absolutely loves it. The staff are fabulous and work really hard to make it a home from home for everyone in their care. We, as a family, couldn’t be happier with the care and attention mum receives. They always keep us informed and are there to answer any questions we may have. 100% I would recommend New Milton House.
My dad has been in there now for nearly eighteen months. The staff are really caring and always seem happy to help. It’s lovely that the home has so many different activities that take place, covering all residents' needs. Well done to everyone who works there.
My husband is a resident in New Milton House and I am more than happy with it. I cannot praise the staff enough. The carers are wonderful, so pleasant and accommodating, cannot do enough to please. I also love the amount of activities they do with the residents, always something going on for them; trips out into the village, the park and even the local club for a game of dominoes. It’s way beyond my expectations and I would highly recommend the home. I’m more than happy with it and my hubby is too. All in all, I would give it 100 out of 100.
New Milton House has been amazing and I would not be able to have placed my mum anywhere else. As a nurse myself who has worked in care homes I was very reluctant for my mum to go into one but New Milton House and all the staff I trust with my mum 100% it's an amazing place and so thankful to all staff. Thank you
The care given to my mother over the last two years has been outstanding. The staff are superb and are very passionate about their work even when working with the day-to-day challenges that people with dementia create. A caring environment created by caring staff.
From the moment I stepped into New Milton House with Mum I felt as if it was home. Smiley faces, welcoming smiles, happy residents, fluffy black cat and a proper dining room. Highly recommended, Mum has basically been locked up since 2020 when she was admitted to the hospital and their place in care and now she is home and happy at New Milton House.
My husband has been in New Milton House for almost two years. His dementia, speech, mood and mobility problems must be quite a challenge. The staff are wonderful and deal with this with kindness, caring and humour. When I visit the staff always greet me with a smile, it's like being amongst friends. The management are lovely and are always available. Top marks from me for New Milton House.
