View Full Details of Newton Hall Care HomeMum's been a resident at Newton Hall for almost 2 years now. The staff are lovely with a stable core team who are involved in day to day care of the residents. The staff always find time to discuss Mum when we visit or call and make us feel welcome whatever time or day we visit. The home itself is lovely with clean rooms and several different communal lounges for residents and their visitors to use, including a safe garden with lovely views across the fields. It's heartening to know that Mum is safe and well cared for at a time when we could no longer manage her care at home. It's lovely to see the care and support provided to all the residents at this spacious, clean and welcoming home.
My mother has dementia and has been a resident at Newton Hall Care Home for 12 months. Mum settled in surprisingly quickly and has been well looked after, and I find her to be happier, less stressed and more settled than she has been for a number of years. The staff are kind and compassionate, and provide both the specialist knowledge and respect for her individual needs, which Mum requires, to enable her to feel secure. The public rooms are all bright, light, airy and clean. Based on my experiences, contact with staff, Mums overall care and peace of mind since moving here, I am happy to recommend Newton Hall Care Home.
Newton Hall is a good home, residents all seem happy and cared for well. Staff are friendly, approachable and willing to help whenever required. We are happy Mum is cared for well and also any health issues addressed well. Very happy to recommend this home.
Newton Hall provides excellent accommodation and care. The staff are capable, caring and qualified and always available to answer any questions. The events team puts on many events to keep the residents engaged and stimulated, from trips out on the minibus to indoor games and visiting entertainers and pets. It’s rewarding to see how happy my relative is at Newton Hall.
The staff at Newton Hall are superb, very caring and helpful, always so patient with my mother-in-law who has dementia. There is a very welcoming and happy atmosphere and I have been able to visit at any time of day. The rooms are very clean and comfortable. I would particularly like to mention the manager who is extremely responsive and caring. I would highly recommend this care home.
Newton Hall Care Home is comforting and welcoming. All the staff have been friendly and supportive. The environment is clean and fresh and the residents appear happy and content. My mother has settled in well and has been taking part in all the activities.
Lovely place for my dad to stay while his health declined, he so well looked after the staff are brilliant nothing too much trouble for them. There's always something for the residents to do. There's an event lady who's great they have karaoke, dancing, pancake flipping, chair exercises keeping the residents active.
My mum has been in Newton Hall for nearly 4 years. I can't be more grateful for the staff in my mum's care. The staff are all very helpful and explain what is going on with Mum's condition. We have a good relationship with the staff, they are happy to talk to us if we are worried about anything and we can phone and talk to the staff any time of the day. We, as a family, can't praise the home enough.
The staff at Newton Hall Care Home all go out of their way to be so kind and caring, nothing is too much trouble. Mum has had a few health issues and they get it sorted straight away. They know the needs of all their residents inside and out. We are so happy with Mum's care and attention and so glad we chose Newton Hall Care Home.
Staff at Newton Hall Care Home looked after Dad like one of their own. I was apprehensive about Dad going into a home when visiting was restricted and it was only towards the end of Dad's life, a year after he moved in, when I had the opportunity to sit with Dad for the 10 days before he passed, that I saw first hand the care, support, kindness, warmth and dedication shown by staff towards Dad. I will always be grateful for this time that I had with Dad and the kindness that was extended towards our family during his final days. The small gestures from staff that meant so much, the chips and peas that carers brought me on one particularly long day, the time that four carers simultaneously appeared from opposite corners of the building to say goodbye to Dad at the end of their shift, the beautiful floral bedspread that one of the carers put on Dad's bed on what turned out to be his final day and made Dad's room feel so homely. Newton Hall is a home from home. Heartfelt thank you to the staff.
Well where can I start, mum came here for respite care, as her present home care couldn’t look after her anymore, the decision was made for mum to have respite care. I must admit I was very nervous about mum being in a care home and feeling anxious, especially with present conditions. On arrival, we were greeted by staff and the manager. We chatted about mum, likes and dislikes and was made to feel comfortable from the off. Well, 4 months on mum is thriving. Staff are all wonderful and the place is amazing. I can’t thank everyone there enough and I know mum is safe and well looked after. Thank you all so much.
Mum has been a resident for over 4 years and the care has been excellent. It is a settled care team who support and work for each other to the complete benefit and care of all the residents with their varying needs. Nothing seems to be too much trouble and they all engage with the residents. Unfortunately, the laundry service is inconsistent and could be improved, however, that is the only criticism and does not detract from the very high level of care and support given to the residents. I believe that the carers are some of the best you could find and have rated them excellent because it doesn’t go higher; I don’t think that we could have found a better place to care for Mum.
My Mum has been resident now for a year at Newton Hall, we are extremely satisfied with the level of her care. We were told prior to going to Newton Hall that Mum’s leg ulcers would never heal; with the care and careful minding, along with district nurse support, they are now virtually gone! Well done everyone! We visited today, along with 5 other family members who don’t live locally and we were made so welcome! We were offered refreshments more than once and space was made for all of us together in the music room. My advice to anyone looking for care would be to visit Newton Hall and put it to the top of their list. It broke my heart that my Mum had to leave her own home but having seen how she is cared for and how she settled in so quickly, I now feel assured that it was the right decision.
My mother is well looked after. The majority of staff are very good, caring and sympathetic and are doing a very difficult job well. They need a full-time activity manager - 20 hours a week I think is insufficient. My mother's room can get smelly so could benefit from more regular spring-cleans. Clothes 'get lost' when going to the laundry but hopefully this will improve. Overall, I rate the care home as good but am concerned at the annual increases way above inflation.
Mum became a resident at Newton Hall just over twelve months ago, shortly after Dad died. They had meant the world to each other and we were very worried about how Mum would settle into a residential environment, particularly as she has dementia. We needn't have worried at all. Whilst Newton Hall might not appear to be some glistening palace on first inspection, it does employ some of the finest carers you could possibly want and in the end that is what has really counted. I can't fault Mum's care in any way. She is genuinely happy and very settled. I leave after every visit with complete piece of mind, totally confident that she couldn't be in a better place.
