View Full Details of Sandiway Lodge Nursing HomeAll nurses and staff welcoming, warm and professional. As a family we felt that there was genuine care and empathy. Nothing was too much trouble.
Would highly recommend Sandiway Lodge care home, my father spent the last 4 months of his life here and the love and care he received were exemplary. Nothing was too much trouble and all the staff from the nursing care team to the kitchen, laundry, entertainment, handyman, and domestic staff were absolutely brilliant. As a family, we were encouraged to visit whenever and they also treated my mother with great respect and love. A very well done to you all for making Dad's final months so comfortable and happy.
My father was a resident at Sandiway Lodge for 10 weeks before he passed away (in hospital) due to multiple health issues. The care he received from the whole team was wonderful. From Day 1 they were extremely professional, calling us up to double-check details of his prescriptions so that everything was 100% clear. They treated Dad with so much kindness and patience, getting him involved with activities even though his dementia and mobility made this challenging at times. We visited several times a week and every time he had been washed, had clean clothes on, was comfortable and well-fed. Tasty, varied food and plentiful cups of tea. The team were always thoughtful and kind to my mother and me as well, offering us hot drinks at every visit and always having a smile and kind word for us. My mother underwent major surgery during this period and the staff always spontaneously checked in to see how she was. Based on our experience, I would recommend Sandiway Lodge without hesitation.
My husband has just spent 10 weeks in Sandiway Lodge Nursing Home. He has received the utmost care, attention and compassion. Every member of staff have been helpful and cheerful. Nothing was too much trouble for them. Wonderful staff. A home full of Angels. I would recommend this nursing home to those in need of one. With much gratitude.
We were incredibly fortunate to discover Sandiway Lodge, where my father was loved and cared for by the best staff in Cheshire before he peacefully passed away. I am so very grateful to everyone of you who cared for my beloved father with such kindness and love, dedication and professionalism. He could not possibly have been in a better care home. We know this because we tried two others before he came to Sandiway. Thank you all so much for going the extra mile.
My grandma was very well looked after by all the staff at this home for 10 years and despite her being a challenging resident was cared for with compassion and love. Thank you very much to all the staff involved in her care.
My mum died in Sandiway Lodge in August. She had been a resident for over ten years. Initially in a residential capacity but for years in a nursing capacity. She has always been looked after with care, even love as relationships grew, dignity and respect despite her often difficult attitude. I cannot praise all the staff enough. They do a hugely difficult task in a superbly caring and professional manner. During these years Mum had 3 rooms always appropriate for her needs as they changed and grew. She was not a great one for joining in with activities and outings etc but they were always available and she was always included and encouraged. For the last few years, she became bedbound but time was always found to talk to her, look at photographs or just be there. They also took loads of time to help me and were always good at keeping me informed and on the ball. I considered them friends as well. Thank you Sandiway Lodge you will always have my praise and recommendation.
My Dad was diagnosed with blood cancer in hospital and was discharged to Sandiway Lodge to spend his end of days there. He actually spent two months at the home before he passed away and was looked after with care and dignity by all the staff. His family and friends could visit at any time and were always made welcome. I could also take my dog Rex who has severe separation anxiety and this was invaluable to me. My Dad did not use any of the facilities as he was bed-bound but his room was comfortable. I would recommend the home and particularly the caring and helpful staff.
My mum came to Sandiway after a long stay in hospital. The change was a big challenge for her, and together with her diabetes and other conditions, we were worried about how she would settle. But I have to say that the staff have been excellent. They have helped her in every way they can and are always checking she is monitored and ready if she needs anything. We are very happy with Sandiway and would recommend highly.
Following a long hospital stay and various unsatisfactory care home placements, my mother-in-law was moved to Sandiway Lodge. From day one, she has been treated with exemplary care, her considerable nursing needs have been monitored and kept on top of with the staff having a brilliant insight into what she requires. The staff have gone above and beyond to make her feel welcome and ensure she settles in
Mum has been a resident at Sandiway Lodge for almost a year now and it has changed her life beyond recognition. From not leaving her bed for months (in hospital) she now is up, dressed, socialising and putting weight back on. The staff are just wonderful. I cannot express how much weight they have lifted off my mind knowing that Mum is so well cared for. They have taken time to get to know my mum as an individual, given her back her dignity and put a smile back on her face. They are knowledgeable and professional but compassionate and approachable. From the manager, receptionist, nurses, care staff, activities coordinator and all the staff behind the scenes feeding, cleaning and maintaining the home, there is a can-do attitude that is uplifting and filled with good humour. There must be days when they are tired or feeling down but you would never know. Some of the staff feel like friends of the family now and they have managed to create a loving, safe and caring environment.
I was generally well cared for. The male carers were very gentle and kind - most of the female carers were good but there were exceptions. The food was excellent and the beds very comfortable.
All staff very attentive, helpful, considerate and friendly. Their care for my sister-in-law was caring and professional and they all treated her as if she was their own. My sister-in-law was very happy and content at all times in the past twenty plus years she spent there.
My sister was in Sandiway Lodge for 20 years. She was always very happy and content there. She was always treated with respect, love, kindness and dignity. All the staff were lovely with her. They took her away on weekend breaks, took her to evening classes and away days and were always doing one-to-one activities with her. She loved it there.
Fantastic staff, so friendly and supportive. Always went above and beyond when looking after my auntie even taking her on trips out/ nights away. She loved it there so much and the connections she made with so many staff members were lovely to see. 20 very happy years for her, and she couldn't have asked for a nicer home.
Despite Mum only being in the home for less than a month until she died. All the staff provided outstanding care. Care being the operative word, they really cared about Mum and treated her and all the family with dignity. It was a real blessing to know Mum passed in a home full of love.
Mum received good care from all staff. Always welcomed us whenever we visited. Staff had time to talk to us, when needed, and helped with all our inquiries. Mum was safe and well cared for.
My mum was only at the care home for a short period of time - however, the staff were immense, and they were attentive and very patient with her - maybe they should have pushed her to get out of bed more, but I know she was stubborn and very strong willed so they may have tried and she resisted. The whole experience was lovely - everyone made both my dad and myself so welcome - I cannot thank the staff enough; they are truly lovely and amazing. My other feedback is a hairdresser sink for wheelchair users - they struggled to get my mu (hoist patient) to have her hair washed in the sink.
I can only speak highly of Sandiway Lodge. My mum was admitted on a short stay after leaving hospital on a respite basis. Her room was light and airy and had an ensuite bathroom, with plenty of space for her bed, chest of drawers, bedside table, easy chair and a riser/recliner chair. The staff were nothing but helpful and cheery. Mum made many friends amongst the staff as she was a chatty person and proved popular. They even brought up coffee for her and her visitors as if she was in a cafe! When her time was approaching the head nurse kept in very close contact with me, in a way she knew more than I did how close to passing she was and informed me in a very professional and caring manner. After she had passed away I was given all the time I needed to be with her. Like a lot of people, I had no experience of care homes and therefore preconceived ideas - I'm glad to report I was very wrong, and this was borne out by friends and family alike who visited Mum. I would recommend Sandiway.
My parents were in residential care for 5 years. It was a great comfort to my family to know they were looked after by such a dedicated and professional team. Staff were friendly and approachable and nothing was too much trouble. We particularly appreciated the efforts made during covid lockdowns when visits to residents were not permitted. My parents were comfortable and content right up to end-of-life care. We appreciate the efforts of all the staff concerned. Thank you.
