View Full Details of Stone House Care HomeMy mother was cared for so well by all the staff at Stone House Care Home. I couldn't have wished for a better family type environment. The staff treated her with compassion and I could tell that she loved them as well. I always felt welcome when visiting, as did other members of our family. I couldn't have asked for better care for her and thank them all for everything they did for her. I wish them all well, with whatever their futures hold.
I cannot praise Stone House enough. They have cared for my 86-year-old Father for 18 months, who had vascular dementia and a collection of other comorbidities. Their attitude of treating residents like one of their own family is amazing. The staff are patient kind thorough and don't miss a trick. Dad was always clean and comfortable. The senior staff are good communicators, efficient, effective and approachable. There is no doubt who runs the place, and when issues arise their professional attitude is there for all to see. Security and safeguarding are excellent and they love our family dog. Unfortunately, Dad died suddenly in hospital and their caring attitude towards us is a real support. Thank you everyone.
My mother had been a patient of this home for the last two and half years. She died on the 9th of August this year. We had paid for August and September in advance. We have tried to get a refund but the on-site staff keep referring to the Manager who will not engage as to why he will not return my mother’s money. If he is treating my family like this how is he treating other more vulnerable families? I have spoken with Social Services to urge them not to recommend this home and after self-funding approx. £120k in fees we will be speaking with our local MP as the treatment of vulnerable patients should not be allowed.
Dad who has Dementia has called Stonehouse Care Home his home for the last two and a half years. The care and support Dad receives from all the dedicated, friendly and kind staff is outstanding. I cannot praise them enough, he is treated with dignity and respect at all times. Dad is happy and cared for, safe and part of this lovely family of staff and residents.
My mother is a resident of Stone House. The care and the kindness, and the understanding shown to her I have witnessed first-hand and they do care a lot for their residents. They are very professional and committed, and I am happy for my mother to be in their care.
I visit my mother at Stonehouse and it is always a pleasant and happy atmosphere and makes visiting very easy. I'm always kept up to date with my mother's health. As she has been there six years, a lot of the staff know her very well and she knows them. The home is bright and fresh and welcoming. The staff do a fantastic job in what I am sure can be demanding and difficult circumstances and they should be praised for their efforts and dedication.
My father was a resident at Stone House from October 2020 until his death in April this year. Throughout his stay, the care he received was wonderful and very personalised. I cannot thank the staff enough for this hard work, commitment and compassion - particularly given the difficulties presented by the pandemic. The care and support they gave to Dad (and us as his family) were exemplary, and I would not hesitate to recommend Stone House to anyone.
My father has been a resident in Stone House for 13-months. Over this time, his health has deteriorated, requiring increasing levels of support and care. I cannot praise the staff enough for all they have done and continue to do for Dad and for us. They have been quick to respond to changes, called for medical and nursing support if needed, arranged for additional equipment and always treated Dad with kindness. The manager is excellent, very approachable and always available.
Finding a Care Home for your mum-in-law is one of the hardest things, especially when she desperately wants to stay in her own home. Doing it in the middle of a pandemic, because it is not safe to leave her alone and you can't physically meet her needs, made it seem impossible and having tried 2 places which could not deliver the most basic of needs, we finally got a placement at Stone House in August 2020. Since that time, she has positively thrived. It's like talking to a different person. She is enjoying her food for the first time in several years and gaining much-needed weight. Her general health has stabilised and she has made new friends, amongst the residents and staff. For the first time in years, we have no concern for her safety and feel she is being cared for incredibly well, in the most difficult of times. The safety of residents during COVID is obviously a priority and every member of staff we have encountered has been excellent.
