View Full Details of Turnpike CourtDad was a resident in Turnpike Court from September 2023 until 3 days before he sadly died in January 2025. Staff were always warm, friendly and welcoming and the unit had a very 'family' feel. Residents were treated with dignity and respect and care was personalised. Activities were well planned and organised, and there was a variety of group and one-to-one activities and trips out. Dad was extremely happy at Turnpike Court.
I find Turnpike an excellent place for my wife. She is well cared for and the staff are very helpful.
I would just like to let people know that if they are looking for a Rest home Turnpike Court is the place to take your loved ones, I cannot express how amazing the staff/secretaries are and the management team. Nothing is too much for my mum and they are always checking on mum even when she's not there (mum stays for respite). It's not just a care home it's a family and they take exceptional care of Mum nothing is too much. They are only a phone call away day or night if I need care for Mum. I couldn't be happier knowing Mum is cared for just the way I do. Mum is so happy when she stays and all the girls smile when they see her and say "Hi, would you like a coffee?". Mum seems so happy when she's there. So if you need care for a loved one Turnpike Court is the place to go you won't be disappointed. Thank you to all the staff for being so caring and always being there for Mum and I. 100% fantastic service. Kind regards.
We took my sister to the shops and returned approximately 4:30pm after quite an experience of shopping. We went to a local shopping centre for the first time mainly to shop for my sister to get Christmas presents - lift was broken - no cafe. We returned cold and thirsty. When we got back to the home, a buffet was taking place with entertainment later. We were asked to join in and were given refreshments and sat with my sister for a couple of hours. This was very pleasant and very much appreciated.
My mother has settled well in her new home and surroundings. She is happy and well cared for. Nothing is too much trouble for all the staff at Turnpike Court. Thank you to all at Turnpike Court.
The care my father receives is excellent. All of the staff have taken the time and effort to get to know and understand my father and his needs. His medical needs are all well considered and taken care of which has given me a massive relief. I appreciate the staff being so friendly when I visit and updating me with all information required as next of kin. Thank you so much!
The manager and the team were able to take my mum as a resident when other care homes in the area could not or would not, due to Mum's dementia and behaviour. The manager said this would not be an issue and she was correct. The home looked after my mum with care and compassion, in a warm, friendly environment. Full compliments to everyone at the home.
My mum spent the last year and a bit of her life living in the warm, caring and friendly environment of Turnpike Court. The staff knew her as an individual and cared for her knowing what she needed. Her end-of-life care was very good and staff looked after her with care and sensitivity. We were given great support by the staff at this time which helped us through a difficult time.
My mother (now 96) has been well cared for approximately three years. She has got on well with her carers and enjoyed the food and comradeship throughout her stay. Her room was quite spacious and very comfortable. She particularly enjoyed the en suite facilities. The staff were very friendly and my mother enjoyed a pleasant friendly relationship with many of them.
I think the commodity that was most noticeable at Turnpike was kindness. I wanted to say that because I think that anybody new to this system feels that fear of handing a relative over to strangers. These people do a difficult job and through challenging times (my mum was there from April 2020) and mum felt that she was amongst friends more so with the staff than even the fellow residents. Thank you.
Can't be faulted, Mum could sometimes be awkward (I know) and demanding but it wasn't safe on her own at home. I often thought of the carers as heroes, told them too. Very caring and dignified in her last days with us. Thank you all.
My husband has been a resident at Turnpike Court for just one year, in the dementia side of the home. It has been a difficult year adapting to the transition but the staff at Turnpike Court have gone above and beyond with their care and consideration for both myself and my husband. He is loved and well cared for, which gives me peace of mind. They keep me informed of any changes and always update me. He is clean, tidy and eats well. The home itself is well kept, activities always seem to be happening. I would warmly recommend the home and thank the lovely staff for always having his best interests at heart. Thank you. My only comment would be of Minister Care not upgrading the garden seating, which badly needs doing.
My mother became a permanent resident in March 2023 having had a short period of convalescence in the summer of 2022 (6 weeks) following a long stay in hospital. Mum's experience in 2022 led to her asking if Turnpike could be an option for her permanent care. We both find the staff friendly, attentive and on top of all medical and care needs. Mum's health is poor and unpredictable. She suffers with Parkinson's, heart failure and also has gastric problems. She has needed two hospital visits during her stay. Staff are always quick to respond, get medical attention quickly and ensure Mum is monitored appropriately. We have been impressed so far. The home itself is a little tired in terms of decor. It needs makeover, but the staff are excellent.
My mum loved being at Turnpike Court. She was content and happy for the seven months that she was there. The staff were friendly, kind and caring and I know without a doubt that my mum felt loved by them all. Nothing was ever too much trouble. The staff acted quickly and responsibly whenever Mum was poorly. I would like to thank all of the staff for making the last seven months of her life very special.
Turnpike Court in our view is excellent, it is spotlessly clean and has a good selection of meals on offer. The staff are fabulous always willing to help out and go the extra mile with the slightest of queries. My mum has settled in nicely since her failing health made it difficult for her to live on her own. Thanks again to everyone at Turnpike for all your continued hard work.
Dad moved to Turnpike Court as his care at home failed to meet his needs resulting in a fall. His stay was 3 months before moving to another home closer to his friends, however, we wanted him really to stay where he was but it was a compromise. I can honestly say from the time we arrived to the time we left every single member of staff was brilliant with Dad. They helped him settle in, providing reassurance and both physical and emotional support when he needed it. However, this support extended to us as family members too and we used the experience, quality of staff and management at Turnpike to compare other homes when looking for an alternative. We count ourselves lucky that our first experience of residential care has been so positive. Our sincere thanks go to everyone involved in Dad's care at Turnpike.
Dad came to the home in November 2022 on a short stay after a hospital stay. He has been very well cared for and he looks really well. The staff are friendly, kind and caring. They always make us feel welcome as relatives. It feels like a partnership and they remember our names which means a lot to us. Dad speaks highly of the staff too and they make time to chat to him and I really cannot fault the care he has received during his time there.
Staff are always friendly and happy to help. I never thought that my dad would settle in a care home, he has always been so independent but sadly at ninety-seven it was time he needed help. He has settled into living here and gets on with all the staff. I would recommend Turnpike Court Care Home to anyone looking for a care home for a family member.
Mum has been a resident at Turnpike Court Care Home for almost eight months. She has always been an active and independent lady, so placing her in a dementia unit, although the right decision for her, is still a tough step to take. The staff have been kind, patient and understanding with her as she has adjusted to her new lifestyle and environment. She appears settled and is busy with activities and staff engagement. The staff have kept us up to date and informed about mum and also any changes within the home. We are able to take mum out regularly and also take her dog to visit. All of which still brings her joy. She has put a little weight on, not a bad thing! so is enjoying her meals and always looks clean and tidy when we visit or go out. She is safe and secure, as are we, her family, knowing she is cared for by staff who genuinely show an interest in her well-being and keep us abreast of any concerns or changes, should they occur.
Mum was in Turnpike Court Care Home while awaiting a care package to be sourced. I had my reservations as I had dealt with care homes in my role as a nurse practitioner in primary care and the standards in some were appalling. My opinion changed. When Mum arrived she was disorientated and distressed, she was welcomed by a manager and made to feel at home. She therefore soon settled in. The staff, without exception, were caring and friendly to Mum, me and my family. Mum quickly adjusted to her new environment as she felt safe in the knowledge there was always somebody there if she needed help. She loved the food and I genuinely think she was happy in the last few months of her life in Turnpike Court. Thank you, that means a lot to me.
