View Full Details of Alexandra CourtI was impressed with the unfailing courtesy, patience and professionalism shown by all the staff. It created a very safe and cheerful atmosphere.
Very good. My mum was happy to come for respite care and she wants to come back permanently as all the staff and residents are welcoming.
I'm happy with the service provided to my auntie. The staff are kind and compassionate.
Really helpful and loving care provided for my dad over the last 4 years. He is very happy and enjoys the food and musical entertainment in particular.
The staff in Alexandra Court are an absolute credit to the care home. We are immensely grateful for all the care, love, attention and respect they give my dad. Dad's safety is our absolute priority and we know that Alexandra Court provides the perfect safe environment for all his care needs. We are incredibly lucky that Dad remains under the care of your wonderful caring staff.
As a family we are very impressed with the quality of staff at Alexandra Court. They are extremely professional and caring. They treat Mum with the utmost respect, going above and beyond to make sure that she is as happy and comfortable as possible. They are all extremely welcoming to family and communicate well with us about Mum's welfare.
It's a beautiful home with very caring staff.
Generally speaking, my Mum is happy here. She has a light and airy suite, the staff are friendly, kind and helpful, meals are OK and there are activities organised. Of the facilities in the local area, this came top of our list when we were looking for care for my Mum. The only issues that have arisen are when room or building maintenance is required. This is managed by the head office in Leeds and is generally poorly organised.
The staff are all very helpful and pleasant. Meals are varied and can be adapted where needed. My flat has a pleasant outlook of the gardens. I can ask for help wherever I am in my flat if needed using the assistance call bell.
My dad moved to Alexandra Court in October after a tough 12 months in his own home. It was a massive decision for him, as it is for any person who admits that they finally need care. He was welcomed with open arms by an amazing team of staff. He has been poorly since he took up residence, but our family have been so thankful for the staff who have looked after him with patience, kindness and such good humour. He thinks the world of each and every one of them. It is such a relief to know that he is safe. He is still getting used to the idea that there are people there to help him whenever he needs it and that he will have hot meals provided everyday. I would also like to extend our thanks to the staff for taking care of us as well. The manager and the team have realised how worrying it has been and have looked after us with compassion and understanding. The staff team make sure that we are fed and watered when we have stayed with Dad, during times when he has been poorly. Thank you.
My father-in-law sadly suffers with Parkinson's disease and has been in several care homes over the past few years. Some of these care homes, unfortunately, fell short in standards of care and left him feeling hopeless and without dignity. I can honestly say that the Alexandra Court care home have turned this around. The level of care he receives is nothing short of outstanding. I haven't only witnessed this with my father-in-law, but other residents also. The home is spotless and is very well maintained. The food looks as though it comes from a 5* restaurant. Every single member of staff we have come into contact with has been friendly, professional and caring; I'd describe them as angels on earth. They have given my father-in-law his dignity back and have also provided reassurance to myself and my wife. I can not thank the staff enough. In my opinion, Alexandra Court has to be one of, if not the best care homes in the UK. I have not one negative word to say about Alexandra Court.
My parents were truly happy in the last few months of their lives because of the care and love they received from all the staff at Alexandra Court care home. My father was 92 and my mother 90 when we finally persuaded them to move into a care home. Each resident had a large bedroom, en suite wet room toilet, a large furnished lounge and a small kitchen. It meant our mum and dad could join in with the other residents in the communal lounge and dining rooms but they could also close the door of their flat and have private time together in their own flat. Everything we were told about the home was 100% true. The staff are fantastic, each and every one, they cared completely, they helped make sure my mum and dad had everything they needed but also, they had friends in the staff, people that my mum and dad looked forward to seeing every day. They have a gift in the way they cared.
From enquiring about respite for my mum after an operation, nothing has been too much trouble and the staff are very welcoming and helpful. After only being in for respite for a few days, Mum decided that she liked it that much that she wanted to stay permanently. She liked the fact that she could have meals either in her flat or in the dining room and that there were choices for each meal and if there was nothing she liked, the staff would make something her liking instead. She also liked the fact that there was always somebody around in the background and the staff popped in to regularly check on her. The manager has been so kind and approachable regarding any concerns we've had. The activities are really good for mingling and engaging with other residents, especially the Queen's platinum jubilee celebrations. A credit to all the staff. There is a lovely homely feel and the flats are nicely decorated with provisions for personal effects and furnishings.
My 93-year-old mother has been having respite care in Alexandra Court for five weeks now and will be staying on a permanent basis. This is because we are so pleased with the care that she is receiving, the attention to detail from cleanliness to dealing with her medical needs is impressive. She regularly comments on this herself. She looks forward to her meals in the lovely dining room. Most important of all, all of the staff have been wonderful to her. Kind and welcoming and nothing is too much trouble. This has really helped her settle in and relieved a lot of the anxieties that she had on leaving her home.
Alexandra Court is a lovely home with excellent and caring staff. They have looked after our Mother since she arrived in August of 2021and many of the staff have formed a strong and good-humoured relationship with her. They were also extremely helpful for the short period of our Father's stay at the home and very empathetic with our Mother and family members on his death, they could not have done more. The home is kept well and in good condition and the apartment is spacious and well maintained. Visitors to our Mother have always been made welcome. Any business is only as good as the team working there and the team are outstanding. We are very pleased with Alexandra Court as a home for our Mother.
On the whole, I have been looked after well. I still think your charges are much too high.
My mum has been living at Alexandra Court for over 4 years. She is very happy here and the family sincerely believe her life has been extended and enriched by it. All the staff are extremely caring and respectful, very much a family atmosphere. We are always welcomed by the staff when we visit, it is a pleasure. My mum likes her food and says that the cook is fantastic. Thank you all.
My mother needed unexpected care and Alexandra Court gave her a warm welcome and tried hard to settle her in. She was treated well and thought the staff were helpful and friendly. She enjoyed the food and was taken to some of the in-house entertainment.
My uncle spent six months here after a stay in hospital. He was still unwell when he arrived and extremely weak so he needed a lot of care. The care he received was exceptional both from a medical and personal point of view. The care staff were consistently the same people which meant he and I got to know them and nothing was too much trouble for them when caring for him or answering all my questions. I didn’t get to see his apartment due to Covid restrictions but in his words, it was a home from home. He has now been able to return to his own home and Alexander Court played a big part in making him strong and healthy enough for this to happen. All the family are very grateful to them.
My brother was in Alexandra Court for what turned out to be his final days. During his short stay the extremely kind, caring, and attentive staff made his stay as comfortable as humanly possible. Their consideration of both his needs and the family to be with him was a great solace. I cannot thank the whole team from management, cooks to carers for their efforts.
