View Full Details of Alsley LodgeMum has been in a few care homes so I am in a good position to compare. Ashley Lodge is, without doubt, the best care home she has ever been in, there are no smells, the food is excellent, but best of all the staff are outstanding and nothing is too much trouble. My only disappointment is I wish we had come here sooner.
The overall care given is very good. The staff are friendly, attentive and helpful. Hygiene and cleanliness are good and health care and medication are professionally administered and managed. There are many different and varied activities organised for residents and the catering is very good. There is a constant program of internal and external building and garden improvements and maintenance. Overall, I'm very satisfied with Alsley Lodge and the staff.
We moved my mum to Alsley Lodge after a bad few years with a well-known Southport care home group. It was difficult at first for us to move her and the first few weeks were worrying. But the staff at the home have been fantastic with the move. I took the decision to move Mum further away from us as we couldn't find a home with the same care locally to us. My father had been here previously on respite and I was impressed by the level of care. The food is home-cooked and of an excellent standard. I have sampled it myself! There are lots of activities for the residents and great members of staff who bring lots of stimulating events. After a short time, we have a friendly approach with the staff and residents. The most important is that my mum is being looked after and now, after three years in another home, this has happened. Any issues with my mum are dealt with promptly and professionally and with communication with myself. Thank you to all the staff in Alsley Lodge.
I am so pleased we chose Alsley Lodge for my dad. He has been at the home for 5 months and we couldn't be happier with the care he receives. The home has a lovely feel to it, everyone is so friendly and it feels more like a big family. All of the staff care so well for the residents and work very hard as a dedicated team, always with a smile on their faces. I have always felt welcomed by everyone and feel at ease talking with the staff about any issues. They know and understand my dad very well and have dealt with any medical needs efficiently. The home is well managed and there have been lots of internal improvements recently which add to the homely feel. What I feel has really benefitted my dad are the daily activities and outings they organise for those that are able. The activities coordinators do a wonderful job - he is regularly out and about on organised trips and there is something on every day (and regular entertainment) which I feel has improved his overall health and well-being.
I consider that we have been very lucky to find Alsley Lodge for our mum. There is a lovely atmosphere as soon as you walk into the home and the staff are very welcoming and friendly. Mum is treated with much love and respect by everyone and she enjoys the activities that are provided for the residents to participate in. It feels as much like a home from home as we can expect and we are able to relax now knowing that Mum is being well cared for.
My mother is a resident of Alsley Lodge and has been for the last couple of years. During December 2023 leading up to Christmas I found the staff went above and beyond decorating the home for Christmas, including my mother and the other residents in the process. Me and my brother brought her home for Christmas. The staff made sure she had clothes packed and her medication, which was very helpful. The staff are always very helpful and courteous to myself and my mother. I am very happy that she is being looked after.
My mother has been a resident at Alsley Lodge for the past 6 months. We as a family are so happy with how she is being cared for and how well she has settled in. They provide wonderful home-cooked meals with a varied menu in a lovely dining room. The staff are fantastic, they are so very kind, patient and caring to all the residents. They put every effort into making each day so enjoyable with a wide range of activities and lots of entertainment and fun. Mum has made lots of friends and it’s so reassuring for us to see how happy she is and know she is safe. We really cannot fault Alsley Lodge.
I previously looked after my mum in her own home but this became increasingly difficult due to progressing dementia. I looked at several care homes before I found Alsley Lodge Care Home. We needed respite for a family holiday, which we were fortunate to book at relatively short notice. As this approached, it became apparent this needed to be a permanent arrangement and the Alsley Lodge team made a difficult time as good as it could be. The care has been outstanding. Her room is modern and fresh with an en-suite wet room. She enjoys getting her hair done every week, she doesn't participate in many activities but there are a variety of things on offer. The attention to detail is excellent, e.g. mouth care. Her mobility isn't good but we are able to put her in a wheelchair and take her to the coffee shop across the road. She enjoys the food which is nutritious and varied. Everyone is friendly and I know it is the best place for my lovely mum, she is very content.
The care and support provided to me and my husband is simply wonderful.
The team at Alsley Lodge are caring, considerate and extremely competent. I felt my grandad's needs were always considered. I can't thank the team enough for their care, from the manager to the cleaner, they all helped with what was a sad and emotional time for myself and my family. I would highly recommend Alsley Lodge to anyone looking for a care home.
Highly confident that the staff at Alsley Lodge provide a superb service for residents. The facilities, activities and level of care are excellent, I would say to anyone placing a relative here that they would be highly pleased.
Having moved my sister into Alsley Lodge in March 2022 for respite and then permanently later in the year, she was made welcome. With the aid of sections of the NHS, problems are solved. Sadly she has suffered a relapse but every member of staff without exemption has rallied around and made every effort to get her back on track. Given the level of care shown in the past, have every confidence they will achieve this.
I visited my mother today it was the Christmas party, the staff were setting up the lounge and the artist was preparing his speakers and tapes, we took Mum up to the lounge and got her seated at a table and the show started with tombola, drinks, party food and party poppers. The residents, staff and families, old and young, had a wonderful time joining in with the singer. It was a great party atmosphere thanks to all concerned.
My mother-in-law has only been in Ashley lodge for two weeks. She is now looking at long-term care and I'm so glad we picked Ashley Lodge. It's a lovely friendly place, staff are always happy which in turn makes residents look happy. The difference in my mother-in-law in the short space of time is giving us as a family peace of mind knowing she's been well cared for at 88 years young. She's looking happier and laughing with staff and residents which we haven't seen in almost 5years of living at home alone after losing my beautiful father-in-law who she misses so much. But now unable to be cared for at home I couldn't have picked a nicer caring team. We visit any time of the day and always welcome I couldn't be more happier and all the family feel the same. Thank you for taking care of my mother-in-law in the lovely way you are and hopefully, she's as happy as she looks each day. Thank you all.
The staff are very approachable and offer a very good level of care and support to the residents. The quality and variety of home-cooked, locally produced food is excellent. My mum has settled in well and is treated with respect and dignity. The management are constantly looking for improvements.
The Home is always clean and tidy and well maintained. Staff are friendly and accommodating. I like that Facebook is used to post photos of the residents so I can see what activities they have been doing and it gives me something to talk about when I visit my mum. I know my mum enjoys having her hair done weekly and also her nails occasionally. I would recommend this Care Home.
I think my mother is well cared for and the staff all seem to work as a team and enjoy what they do, carry on with the good work. I just hope that the new manager stays as there has been a rapid turnaround in the past with no explanations.
Alsley Lodge has been a perfect choice of care home for my mother. Mum’s care needs have increased greatly in the last six months and these are being met excellently by management and staff at the home. I am kept fully informed of any issues concerning her and how they are being dealt with. This is really important and most definitely gives me peace of mind, knowing that she is in kind and capable hands. Mum is now socialising more and is really enjoying the food. Different social activities and entertainment are offered to suit all residents' needs should they wish to partake. Staff and management are always welcoming and the home has a pleasant and friendly atmosphere.
My 93-year-old mum lives with us and has just returned from a short respite break at Alsley Lodge. She has never been one to socialise much but she was gently encouraged to mix and engage in activities and she absolutely loved her time there! She has returned home happy and relaxed telling me how lovely it was and showing me the photos on Facebook from when the therapy animals visited. There is a happy environment thanks to the kind, caring, responsive, considerate staff who make residents feel safe, welcome, and valued. The home is clean, bright, cheerful, well maintained, and welcoming but most noticeably it does not smell like an old people's home! Mum's room was spacious and modern with a lovely garden view and a well-appointed en suite shower room. Mum enjoyed the food which was tasty, varied and plentiful, well prepared, and presented. She says she cannot find any fault with her stay at Alsley Lodge (and coming from my mum that's really something!) She will be back!
My mum has settled in well. Well cared for and looked after. Mum enjoys the meals and the company.
