View Full Details of Arrowsmith Lodge Rest Homes LtdWhen visiting my unresponsive mother and being told "we have to try" when Mum clearly has chosen not to eat or drink is unacceptable. When asked for Mum to be in her bed this was also declined. A considerate support worker who showed empathy personally asked and was given the same response. Mum being independent who has in her life kept her privacy was made to sit with other residents every day rather than be in her room which she personally paid for. Receiving phone calls saying "we don't know what to do" speaks volumes. I was informed I should be escorting Mum in an ambulance to hospital, due to her dementia, this is not necessary as further investigated, Mum at the time was unresponsive. Regimentally organised organisation, no updates, no response to emails or left phone messages. Residents wearing clothes that are not theirs even though each personal item is named.
Things have definitely improved over the last six months - staff morale is higher and things get done quicker.
My father has been at Arrowsmith Lodge Rest Homes Ltd for 20 months. In all that time, he has received the best care possible. If there is a problem, it is sorted immediately. The staff are very caring and kind. They take the time to spend with residents chatting or helping with their needs.
As of when the new manager has taken over, everything in the home has improved tremendously. The morale of the staff and everything, in general, has had a boost which I admire. Everyone working there does their best which is all they can do. The only thing I would suggest that could do with improvement is the staffing levels. Could do with more help especially at the weekend.
