View Full Details of Ash Grove Care HomeIm extremely happy with the care that my sister is receiving at Ash Grove even though her illnesses are complexed the care she receives are excellent, staff are always in attendance or on hand for her. I find there is always staff to talk to about my sister and are great at updating me on how she is and will always include me in her daily life Although the home is an old building there are renovations being done but this has not had any effect on the care that my sister receives
Staff are very friendly. Room could be more cleaner. Activities are doing well and getting there. Looking forward for the activities coordinator to take my brother out. With upcoming things, looking forward to seeing new things within the home!
I never dreamt that I would have to put mum into a care home but sadly covid hit and mum's dementia deteriorated rapidly. I genuinely hand on heart could not cope without Ash Grove Care Home and the staff who make this care home so outstanding. The team cannot do enough for the residents, they love them dearly, it's like the residents are an extension of their own families, they care and are extremely passionate about the service they offer. They go out of their way to plan activities to break up the day, they do arts and crafts, play games organise fun afternoons from entertainment to just recently a buffet with wine afternoon tea event which was a huge success. They take residents on trips out according to their capability. These extra measures go a long way, you can see smiles on all of the residents faces. It's a very difficult job that the staff have to do, it takes a certain disposition and patience to care. I know that my mum is in brilliant, safe, loving hands at Ash Grove. Well done team.
We are really pleased with how our mum has been cared for. Staff has been really helpful and made her do things she has never done before. She enjoys the food and is really pleased with how she is cared for especially at night. Really loves all the activities she does. So far so good and think this is the best decision we have made for our mum.
Both my parents are living in this care home, they have been here since November 2022. The staff (most of them) are lovely and approachable, they look after the residents as if they are their parents. The food is lovely and the chef goes above and beyond to give my parents a nourishing and healthy diet. Since visiting in November the home has begun doing activities with the residents, I have noticed artwork being displayed on the corridor walls which brightens the place up, they have allocated a member of staff to start taking residents out for day trips and getting them involved in outdoor activities which will be good for residents well being! The manager of this home is very down to earth and will give her time to listen to anything that I am not happy with, she also keeps me informed of anything that is troubling my parents or if she has any concerns regarding health issues.
All staff are caring, helpful and considerate. So far so good. Works really well considering it is an old building. My mum says the meals are really good. Activities are well coordinated and are inclusive of everybody.
Staff are always helpful and friendly. They know the person we are visiting well and are aware of her individual needs. Everyone is always polite and welcoming, always a pleasure to visit. Our relative always comments on how good the food is.
This place is great, my wife has been a resident for over two years and we have nothing but praise for both carers and operations staff. Food is great with taste and variety and my wife is as happy as she can be with her care and consideration.
All staff are really caring. The home is clean and well organised. All the staff are very helpful to residents as well as family members. I want to give a special mention to certain staff for their help and also lovely caring attitudes.
I find all the staff good and really helpful and caring.
A lovely, friendly welcome with all Covid procedures carried out in a proper manner. The home was lovely and clean and the staff were welcoming, after such a long time. We have been kept well informed about our friend and as we couldn't visit, a member of staff went above and beyond to get her some clothes shopping (in her own time too - thank you).
Mum has been at Victoria care home for over five years. She quickly settled in and being able to have some of her own furniture and trinkets around soon enabled her to see it as her home. At times her behaviour has been challenging resulting in her hitting out. Whilst this was to do with her illness, the staff have always treated her with the utmost respect. Fortunately, this phase has now passed and once again she is settled and happy. I must mention the laundry staff who have always been very helpful in locating missing items of clothing. The cleaning staff always make a fuss of her and often give her a huge hug. The care staff both days and nights have taken mum to their hearts and nothing is too much trouble. Now she is becoming more ill, the increased levels of medical intervention are making her as comfortable as possible. I cannot praise the staff enough for the peace of mind this is providing to all her children and extended family. What a wonderful find this home is! Thank you!
Doing a wonderful job in such difficult circumstances.
Overall the home has improved. Nice staff, homely feel. Relative happy with her care received. Staff always happy to help.
Mum has been at Victoria care home for 9+ years. We have always been happy with the care and support shown by all the staff there. We have always been made to feel very welcome and part of a big family. At the end of Mum's life, the kindness and compassion shown were outstanding, from everyone there. We will always be extremely grateful for everything they have done.
Overall I think a good home. One of the chefs is excellent, the other chef is also good. Care staff are very friendly and helpful. The acting manager is very good, I wish she would stay. I hope whoever the new manager is, is up to the standard at the moment?
My husband was well cared for over a period of 4 months. All members of the staff became very dear to both of us and it was like a second home to myself. My only concern was of change of staff over a few months but this did not affect the care my husband received.
My Mother-in-Law has been a resident for a number of years. The home has gone through changes but her care has always remained very good. The staff are so kind and friendly and we have looked after her with compassion and dignity. The home has gone over and above their duty of care in providing a safe, homely and caring environment, which has given us total peace of mind. She has always loved it and considers it her home and we (her family) are so appreciative of everything staff do for her.
My mum was very happy on her short stay at Victoria House. All the staff treated her with dignity and respect. She often said that they were her friends.
My auntie has been in Victoria since 2005. There have been several upheavals in the care home but in all that time, we have never once thought of moving her. The staff have been great and to see her smile when she saw the carers made it all worthwhile.
