View Full Details of FernbankVery impressed with the Fernbank. They do top-class care with my granddad, who's suffering from dementia. Staff are always smiling and are always pleasant. Likewise with the manager. My family are very thankful
Recently my father's cousin has taken up residential care at Fernbank. My father no longer drives. Therefore have taken him to visit on three occasions. The experience put us completely at ease and I certainly felt immediately comfortable with Fernbank. Notably despite her condition was perfectly relaxed and cheerful. The staff are very nice and helpful with no problems accommodating our impromptu visits. The experience felt right and left both myself and dad feeling that she is very well looked after. Thank you all at Fernbank.
My mother was originally in Fernbank for recuperation after an accident. She settled very quickly and has been looked after very well. When it became apparent that she wouldn't be able to go home, it was a great comfort to know she was in such a caring, professionally run home. The meals are excellent and very nutritious. The staff are willing to accompany her to appointments and make sure her medical needs are met.
I highly recommend Fernbank Lodge, my stepmother has been a resident for a couple of years now, and the staff are absolutely fantastic, they're all so caring and friendly, it's clear to see this while visiting. It is well managed and nothing is too much trouble. The manager recently arranged for my stepmum to attend my dad's surprise 80th, and without doing so she wouldn't have been able to be present.
I recently arranged a respite stay for my mother-in-law at Fernbank Resident Home, and I couldn't be more impressed. The staff were incredibly attentive and always willing to assist with anything she needed, making her feel comfortable and well cared for. They understood how important it was for her to maintain her daily routine, and they went out of their way to ensure this was followed, which made all the difference in her comfort and well-being. The manager and her team were especially outstanding-professional, kind, and dedicated. I highly recommend Fernbank Resident Home for anyone looking for excellent respite care where loved ones are treated with respect and care.
My mum has now been a resident of Fernbank for over three years. Initially, she stayed there for respite but it soon became apparent that Fernbank was the best place for her and she has been there ever since. She is well cared for by attentive, caring staff. The meals provided are nutritious and to her liking. The management and staff always keep our family informed of her well-being and any upcoming doctor appointments she has, giving us the chance to accompany her, or, if we are not available they are very happy to go with her to an appointment. The staff are always very welcoming and friendly when I visit Mum. I would recommend Fernbank to anyone who is in a situation where a loved one needs 24/7 care. I can't fault them really.
I have been several times to Fernbank to visit my Dad and have always been made very welcome under somewhat difficult family circumstances (unrelated to Fernbank). All the staff I have come into contact with have been non-judgemental, extremely pleasant, very attentive and accommodating when it comes to my dad's needs; he seems happy and settled. Fernbank is very clean and inviting and homely without being pretentious. I look forward to my next visit. Thank you to all.
A big thanks to the manager and her team for looking after my father in a professional caring and kind manner. I feel relieved to know he is at home not "in a home "which is down to the dedication of care from the staff which is applied to all.
My dad has been in Fernbank care home for approximately 2 weeks now! We have found the staff there very caring, very knowledgeable, hospitable and friendly! We are really happy that dad is in there! He has a cosy room with everything he needs! I would recommend this home to anyone! It's like home from home in many ways! Staff always have time to chat, and we are kept well informed with dad's progress as he hasn't been well! Thank you so much! Keep up the good work you do!
The care and attention to detail regarding dad's move to Fernbank have been wonderful. Every effort has been made to ensure he adjusts to his new home and that he has all his needs met safely. There is a homely feel the minute you walk through the door.
My husband has just spent 2 weeks respite at Fernbank Lodge Care Home, from the moment you enter the staff are so welcoming and friendly and he was well looked after. I would recommend Fernbank for respite or full-time care. He came home feeling bright and chatty so it did us both good.
My mum has been a resident for 10 months, and I wanted to express my gratitude for all the care and love provided to her. I had looked at a few homes and none felt as friendly and homely as Fernbank. My mum has settled in really well and I know each staff member is caring and attentive when helping my mum. On my visits, I am always made to feel welcome by all and get to spend as much time as I like with my mum in a relaxed atmosphere. Fernbank is clean and warm. Plus they have a great variety of different meals that are freshly cooked every day to give the residents options to suit their tastes. They have days out, and entertainers in. Including great singers which my mum really enjoys as she loves music. I would also like to thank the manager for her extra assistance in fast-tracking my mum's admission and going above and beyond to make sure there was a room available quickly. Fernbank was definitely the right choice for my mum. And I would strongly recommend this lovely home.
In my role as an IMCA, I am supporting several residents at Fernbank. Every time I visit a resident at the home I observe a warm, caring, and supportive care staff when interacting with the residents. The care staff/management can provide all the information I require and show their knowledge of their residents. They know their likes/dislikes, and the tailored approach they need to take with each resident and they adapt the resident's care plan when required when someone's presentation changes or there is a deterioration to ensure the resident's dignity is respected and the level of care they require is maintained. The care records show that they do seek outside relevant professional advice when required. From my observations and working with the home they do everything they can to make the residents feel like it is their home, that they are comfortable, and encourage the residents to engage in activities and to go out on the outings arranged by the home.
Mum has been at Fernbank for over 2 years, she settled in and is well cared for and well fed. As it is a comparatively small home there is a more homely feel than clinical. The carers are dedicated to the residents and always keep you informed of any problems, or medication issues, and take the time to talk things over. Visitors are welcome.
I have very good interaction with the staff at Fernbank and find the dignity and care given to my brother excellent. Although his mental health has deteriorated beyond recognition, I am really pleased how well and happy he appears to be, with a caring association with the staff.
We as a family are very happy with the level of care for our relation. All round we are very satisfied with everything my sister has settled in really well we are all surprised how quickly she has become very much at home so we as a family could not ask for more, a big thanks to all the staff.
First class home, always very clean and is run very well. All the staff and managers are very helpful and pleasant, they are all top rate. Couldn't wish for better. The food is very good and the rooms are nice, so top mark's all round.
My friend moved to Fernbank the day before Christmas Eve 2023 so has only been there for a few weeks. She seems to be settling well. When we visit we are always made to feel welcome, the staff are kind and caring, I asked for more coat hangers which were given to us with no problem. We can move around the house with my friend to any room to chat. My friend's room is a lovely room, everywhere we went in the house it was lovely, clean and warm. I feel my friend hasn't been at Fernbank long enough for me to rate the home perhaps as I would if she had been there longer!
My wife has been a resident at Fernbank for over seven years now. I chose Fernbank for her because it is just like a family home. The staff are all kind and caring and are concerned not only for their residents but also for family members. They have helped me a lot over the years in coming to terms with my wife's condition and always keep me abreast of developments. Over the past 12 months, her needs have greatly increased, but she is always treated with gentleness and kindness. The staff go out of their way to make sure that my visits are quality time together. I think that the best recommendation I could make is that if I myself need care in the future, I would wish to live at Fernbank.
My dad initially had to go into respite during Covid as he had a fall at home but hated the one he was placed in, so asked me to move him. I had to ring around to find one pretty quickly (he can be quite demanding!) and Fernbank had a vacancy. He settled in brilliantly, and absolutely loves being there, as the staff have been wonderful with him. He can be cantankerous and challenging at times even though he has no dementia, but the staff are wonderful. The home is warm, clean and friendly, and will always ring and inform me of any problems should they arise. It would be awful for him if at any point he had to move, but as his needs change, due to his age and condition, I appreciate this could happen. I would recommend Fernbank to anybody, it's relatively small compared to some homes, so the care feels more personal.
