View Full Details of Moorings Residential Care HomeMy husband was safe, secure and well cared for during his two weeks staying at the Moorings whilst I recovered from surgery. I would not hesitate to use the services offered by this care home again in the future. Thanks go to all the staff at the Moorings from the top to the ladies who keep the home clean and fresh for residents and visitors alike.
My 2nd time for respite. Very pleased with everything. The staff are fantastic, for an 88-year-old Royal Air Force veteran. It was a lovely experience and hopefully will do it again so I will keep saving and see you again.
I was most welcomed into the Moorings Care Home, which I felt was a home from home experience. There a good, happy atmosphere within the home where it was clear that other residents felt at ease on a day to day basis. I was staying for a short period of time but totally satisfied by the end of the visit. Morning or night I felt secure in the knowledge that the home could help me should any problems arise. The home readily supported my request to assist with a vegan diet. Each and every resident (including myself) was treated with absolute care and dignity and I will be recommending family and friends to stay at the Moorings for a first class experience. The activities provided were fun!
My father was a resident at The Moorings Care Home for over 2 years. His mobility had worsened and following a few falls at home he decided he’d feel safer in a Care Home. He was delighted that he had a spacious room with a sea view, which was large enough for him to move around in whilst in his electric wheelchair. He felt safe, well cared for and the staff treated him with respect and dignity at all times. He wasn’t one to join in with any of the many activities taking place, preferring to stay in his room to read his daily newspaper and tackle his number puzzles in peace! The staff respected that this was what he enjoyed doing and left him to it. He couldn’t have had better care than he had at The Moorings.
My husband and I moved into The Moorings for three weeks R & R. We liked it so much we booked another 2 weeks! Sadly, my dearest husband deteriorated and passed away on the 3rd March. He was 97 years old and what a fitting end for a perfect English gentleman in luxury first-class care. I can't speak highly enough of them. I stayed on for another 2 weeks to be thoroughly spoilt and pampered. If I find I can't manage on my own, I won't hesitate to move back in!
Initially I came for one month for rehab after a stroke, but was so impressed I decided to stay permanently. This is not your usual care home, more like a hotel with benefits. I would highly recommend this home.
Mum has been resident for nearly 7 years. Throughout that time and with changing needs I found the home, particularly its excellent staff, consistently delivers care to a very high standard. Superb facilities, well maintained, extremely clean, with options and activities to spend time away from the bedroom, lounge-type areas(every landing) for more private family visits. Dedicated dining room, with library, lounge, and TV area including reception providing options. The hair salon is always high on Mum's priorities. Meals are home-cooked with local high-quality suppliers. Care and medication routines have all been handled precisely. Communication re: hospital appointments, doctor or health visits, and health monitoring between family and home has been managed consistently to a high standard. Close monitoring of Mum's health has seen early calls to Doctors made based on health indicators causing concern. Cannot fault communication between Home and Doctor / Health Centre on the speed of referral and communication.
My dad resided in the home for approximately 4 years, he was very happy. He liked the staff and felt comfortable there. When he first joined the home, he enjoyed the activities, social day trips and the comradeship of both staff and residents. As time passed, he was less able but was still made to feel fully inclusive. The patience and compassion was truly remarkable! The home is very well presented, constantly being maintained and updated. Standard of cleanliness is extremely high. Surroundings put you in mind of a comfortable hotel, with a calm and relaxed atmosphere. The staff are kind, respectful, sociable and very helpful. They ensure the residents are happy, safe, and have their individual needs met. A real happy relaxed community! When my dad became poorly, then end of life, the home gave us the opportunity to spend time with him, due to there careful planning, forethought and organisation his final days were peaceful and pain-free. Forever grateful for Dad’s outstanding care.
Very caring staff who have excellent knowledge of the people they care for and treat everyone with respect and dignity. Very clean and comfortable. Excellent food choices and good extensive activity programme. Something for everyone.
Whilst the initial introduction and moving in were good, things went downhill from there. A move to a smaller room was done due to the shower facilities not working, which caused Health and Safety issues. The quality of care has been less than acceptable. Dirty linen left on the dressing table and not bagged appropriately, not changing PPE between tasks involving food, and a few more to mention. Have to say I wouldn't recommend it, and has not lived up to expectations. The response received to my complaints is less than acceptable, and would urge anyone to start a diary when moving into any care home, as without specific dates, times and names your complaint doesn't go much further. Thankfully moved into another home.
A lovely, caring, safe place for a respite stay. Thank you. My husband was taken care of and treated with respect. He enjoyed the food and always ate all his meals. He looked happy and healthy. He will be staying at the Moorings again in the near future. I feel confident while I am away that he will be looked after.
After a hip operation, I wanted somewhere to be looked after before I could go home. I was recommended the Moorings Residential Care Home and I'm so glad they did. I could not have had better care anywhere. The staff, from the top to the bottom, have been very good and I have felt really at home.
I have found my stay at the Moorings Residential Care Home very enjoyable and I will be happy to return.
Home is excellent, particularly in terms of treatment of residents by staff. Unfailingly polite, kind and gentle. Accommodation excellent, food good choice.
My husband and myself were given outstanding care and support during our stay at the Moorings. Every member of staff, from the most senior to whatever role they were undertaking, made us feel welcome, safe and respected. We would not hesitate to choose them again if and when the need arises.
My mother became resident here in January 2023 and could not have wished for better care. This place is welcoming from the reception area where you are met with smiling faces; the staff and management can't do enough to ensure my mother's needs are met. The activities coordinator does a marvellous job entertaining residents with craft-making, quizzes sing-alongs and much more. There's so much for everyone. The rooms are kept lovely and clean as well as the communal areas. I personally can't thank all concerned enough, knowing my mother is happy, safe and well cared for.
My mother will be 99 in Mat and moved to the Moorings in November 2022 after her then-current care home closed. She is so much happier at the Moorings, and I am much less worried about her care.
Excellent in every way. Will come again.
The care my mum has experienced so far is second to none. The Moorings has quickly become a home-from-home following initial admission for respite. Mum continues to live independently with support when required. We can't fault anything.
Very good as per previous visits on 2019 with a party from the RAF association and then again on my own. Plan to visit again in 2023.
