View Full Details of Nazareth House - LancasterMy mum went into Nazareth House Lancaster 4 months ago due to her being unsafe at Home and unable to care for herself. Previously to this, we had to have four ambulance visits and three admissions to hospital within the space of 5 months. When my mum first went into Nazareth House she was underweight, had two pressure sores on her back, was mentally very unhappy and had given up on life to the point where she was talking about ending it. As you can imagine, as a family, we were distraught, heartbroken and very worried about my mum. In the short space of 4 months since August, we have all seen a huge difference and improvement to her health physically and mentally. She has gained weight, looks so much better and is happy again. She has also made new friends and is finally receiving the care that she needs. As a family, we don't have to worry anymore about her not getting her health and wellbeing. I can't thank the staff at Nazareth House enough for their ongoing work with my mum.
On the occasions I visit Nazareth House, I am always impressed and reassured by the cleanliness and facilities with a wonderful dining room, gardens and extensive grounds. More important however, is the way the staff really care for the residents, all in all, a lovely atmosphere.
On my first visit, I was made to feel very welcome and the manager was exemplary in showing me around and answering any questions I had. The home was warm and inviting and the residents appeared happy there. Lots of activities and events outside the home are encouraged and family members are welcome to attend. It is certainly a home from home with wonderful Christmas decor and entertainment during December. Could not ask for a more secure homely environment to be cared in for my friends and relatives. I would certainly recommend to others.
Fabulous home, very caring team. Loving place. I visit my father often and always feel welcomed.
Both my parents lived at Nazareth House - Lancaster until my father passed away on 28th September 2024. The staff were very supportive, kind and thoughtful throughout Dad's illness, passing and afterwards. They have provided invaluable support to my mum, who still resides there, as a grieving widow. I feel my mum is in good hands, and the staff keep me updated between my biweekly visits if there are any concerns.
I am incredibly grateful for the exceptional care my relative has received at Nazareth. The staff have been warm, welcoming and attentive to every need. The facility is always clean, well maintained and has a lovely atmosphere that makes it a lovely place to live in. The caregivers are compassionate and professional, ensuring that my relative feels safe, respected and valued. They go above and beyond. The variety of activities and social events offered, keeps the residents engaged and happy, fostering a sense of community and belonging. Overall Nazareth has exceeded our expectations in every way. It has given us peace of mind knowing that our relative is receiving the best possible care in a supportive and loving environment. I highly recommend this care home to anyone looking for a place where their family member will be treated with dignity and kindness.
My sisters and I were very pleased when Mum was given a place in Nazareth House Lancaster. Staff and management always go above and beyond for the residents. Mum receives great care and attention. Food is first class and entertainment and activities are great.
Mum was reluctant to give up independent living at the age of 99 but is loving her new home. The care she receives is 5 star. All staff are caring, patient and understanding of Mum's needs. Mum takes part in planned activities which keeps her mentally stimulated and loves the entertainment on offer. Mum has also put weight on thanks to the help of a very thoughtful catering team who tailor the menu to her tastes. Thank you all at Nazareth House for making Mum's palliative care as pleasant as possible.
Nazareth House had Christmas Day out for the residents and their families to the big wheel and ice skating which was absolutely brilliant and the residents absolutely loved it, as did their families. And to top the day off, they took everyone for a drink. They always go above and beyond. Thank you to two particular team members and all the staff.
My Nana is always well looked after at Nazareth House, and the recent weeks have been no different. The staff constantly put the residents first, and have taken them out for some wonderful days out; including the ice skating this past week. The residents, my Nana included, have thoroughly enjoyed it. Many care homes (and through family, I've experienced a few) find it difficult to take residents out of the home, but Nazareth House make it a priority. My Nana has been at Nazareth House as a resident for a few years now, and when she went in, she wasn't her usual self - the time there has enabled her to feel looked after and become more confident again. I can't thank the home and the staff within it enough!
I am always pleased with the way staff interact with both myself and my mother, always a friendly smile and a little banter. Mum has on occasion complained about the food she receives but to be fare she has always been very picky about what she eats.
Aside from visiting my mother weekly, I had the joy of attending the Christmas Dinner event, which was wall run, with great food and an excellent atmosphere. Within the home, my mother has settled well and feels safe and secure here.
Mum had to be placed into care and we couldn't have picked anywhere better. The management and staff were very supportive to Mum, who was finding settling in difficult. She now has friends and has started to join in with the activities. The nuns are always about and very happy to stand and chat.
I cannot praise the management and staff enough for the care given to my stepmother over the last five years. She was so well looked after and I never had a moments worry about her health and welfare. Every member of staff has been so caring and helpful and the sisters always gave her a great deal of comfort. The care she received during the last weeks and days of her life was impeccable. She was so well looked after and I felt a genuine concern from all the care workers who cared for her so compassionately. I highly recommend Nazareth House to anyone considering placing a family member there. Thank you all so much.
I was worried about my nanna settling into a nursing home, thank goodness she has settled in well. The staff at the home are caring and compassionate and have gone above and beyond to make nanna feel at home. My nanna feels safe and cared for and is loving the food! As a family, we are happy we have made the right choice, peace of mind for us all. Thank you to all the staff for your dedication to looking after our family members. Very much appreciated.
Our Father is a resident here. Opting to put him in the care home was a tough decision to make but so glad that we did it. He is safe, well looked after, enjoying his meals and thriving in his new living environment. The staff are lovely and we receive regular updates from them on how he is doing, including lovely videos of him enjoying the activities.
This has been a very trying time for me and of course my husband. The staff at Nazareth House have been extremely dedicated to his care and nothing has been too much trouble for them. They have gone out of their way to dedicate extra time and thoughtful care to him and I greatly appreciate this.
As our friend is without living family members, we felt a huge responsibility to find her a suitable care home to reside in during her latter years once she had decided that she was becoming unable to look after herself in her then cottage home. After much searching, we visited Nazareth House - Lancaster care home and were immediately most impressed with everything we found there. Our friend, who sadly died there last week, reported, in our frequent visits to Nazareth House, that she found everything to be run in a caring and helpful manner by caring and considerate staff at all times. Nazareth House staff have a really "can do" attitude to their jobs whilst projecting a family atmosphere to residents and visitors at all times. Being run by at least six nuns and having their small church, offering a daily mass, within the building seems to create a community togetherness seldom found in so many care homes. Finally, I would make the point that I have never been in a care home more like a proper home that I found at Nazareth House. So often, on entering a care home, one becomes aware of various "smells/aromas". Such is definitely not the care at Nazareth House. All in all, my verdict on Nazareth House is a resounding 10/10!
The staff are absolutely amazing. The home is very clean and the events that are put on are fantastic. The rooms are clean and tidy. The meals are good and it's nice we are allowed to join the residents for meals and events.
My grandad became a resident at Nazareth House in January 2019 until he sadly passed away in January 2021. My grandad was happy at Nazareth House, he loved all the staff and enjoyed spending time with other residents. There was often activities in the homes beautiful grounds and Grandad always spoke of how nice the meals are. I was concerned when Grandad needed more help than I could give and frightened of what was to come but from my first time of meeting the manager, I knew Grandad was going to be well cared for, and he was. I used to call to see Grandad at all times that fitted round my work and it was never any trouble. The staff always welcomed me. During the pandemic I was able to keep in touch with Grandad through phone calls, video calls and pictures sent by staff, they really went above and beyond. I am so grateful to Nazareth House and every single member of staff for the love and care they gave to Grandad. They treated Grandad like family and I highly recommend the place.
