View Full Details of Southview Lodge (SVL Care)Southview Lodge is a beautiful, quiet home, and I’m so glad we found this place for my Nana! The staff have been so lovely and welcoming towards my Nana, she felt at home from the moment she arrived for what was meant to just be 2 weeks' respite. My Nana loves it so much and felt so welcomed here that she’s decided to become a permanent resident at Southview Lodge, and we couldn’t be happier for her. She keeps us updated with the activities she’s been doing, from bingo to quizzes and says the food is delicious too. Nothing is too much trouble for the staff, and they’ve made sure my Nana’s needs are met with dignity and respect. I can’t thank the staff and management of Southview Lodge enough for everything they’ve done so far, and would highly recommend.
I can’t thank Southview Lodge enough for what they have achieved with my mum, when she came out of hospital she was like a little bird in bed, on fluids only. She was put on palliative care and we didn’t know how long she had to live, but with Southview Lodge’s wonderful care team, they brought her back, now she enjoys joining in the activities and sits in the lounge with the other residents and also loves her food. Thank you, Southview Lodge, for taking such good care of my mum.
I’m so pleased my husband is there all the staff care they have so much patience. The staff treat me as a friend as well it’s so much better for me when I go and see him there all fantastic. And the boss, she's good. I just like to thank them all.
We have nothing but praise for SVL in all aspects of our mum's care. The staff are very caring and look after her needs with good humour, thoughtfulness, tenderness, and top-quality attention is given to each resident’s individual needs in a compassionate and professional manner. From the entertainment and activities, quality and varied meals, to the maintenance and housekeeping staff who always make sure the home is looking its best. I would recommend SVL to anyone having to make the difficult decision on behalf of loved ones.
My father has been at SVL for 20 months, during this time his health has deteriorated, but at every stage his quality of life has been enhanced by the care, enthusiasm and dedication of the staff, supported by the imagination and positivity of the management. There are fun activities to encourage all types of interest and abilities every week and a wonderful variety of freshly cooked food with plenty of fresh produce which my father really enjoys. The communication is excellent, from emails and social media to telephone calls. I especially enjoy clips of Dad's day, dancing and singing or just interacting with other residents. Staff always have a warm smile and welcome and are able to answer questions about Dad easily. All in all, Dad followed Mum into SVL and, although the decision is hard, both parents have had the very best care and my family are very grateful for the support.
Mum has lived at SVL for the last five years, I can honestly say Mum is much happier than she was before, it is her home, and she loves the meals, always asking is it breakfast dinner or tea. She is made to feel special and cared for. She forgets where she lives, so I tell her she is like a queen, all meals, no washing up, or cleaning. I always get a big smile, and she says l 'm lucky, aren't I? I have never had a problem, with this place, all the staff are very caring. Would recommend it to anyone.
My brother is a resident and has been for the past six years - initially, this home gave us a few concerns in the care of him - which appeared to be because of poor management - at that time we raised the issue accordingly. However, for the past two years they acquired a new manager and what a striking improvement instantly began to change the whole running of this home. Many improvements have been made and the change has been a massive significant improvement which has made I and my husband very happy about the care extended to my brother. Additionally, the staff in the home appear far more organised and happier and helpful - and the manager has introduced plenty of activities to stimulate the residents and also to include carers and relatives and friends - very positive - this care home deserves the recognition for all the improvements and hope that this continues for the future.
My mum, who has vascular dementia and complex physical care needs, moved into Southview Lodge (SVL Care) about 15 months ago. She has a lovely en-suite room, which is kept clean and tidy at all times, and she can choose whether to spend time in her room or join the other residents in the lounge. I feel very reassured that the home is well managed and that standards of hygiene are excellent. The lounge has a very relaxed and welcoming feeling for both residents and family visitors. Mum is well looked after by the staff who are incredibly caring and have a wealth of experience in managing both her mental and physical needs. Nothing is too much trouble, and they go out of their way to make her feel safe and loved at all times as well as reassuring us that she is comfortable and happy. The food is of high quality and is prepared onsite by a thoughtful and accommodating chef. I have no hesitation in recommending Southview Lodge (SVL Care) to anyone who is searching for a safe and loving home for their elderly relatives.
In general, as a family, we are more than happy with the care Mum receives at the home, she has now been there for more than six years. The staff have a great deal of empathy with the residents and go out of their way to make them feel comfortable, they talk to them and interact with them as proper people. The entertainment and activities provided are very good and varied, and they encourage residents to join in as much as possible.
SVL Care gave brilliant care to my grandad while he was with them. They are so friendly, both with the resident and also the family. They looked after grandad so well, we would highly recommend them to anyone. During the week there are activities for residents to take part in and they have special events on to keep the residents active and make life fun. The food is of high quality and homemade in their kitchens.
