View Full Details of Park Grove Residential HomeOur mum moved into Park Grove in February 2024. We cannot fault the owner and her team they have all been wonderful with Mum and us as a family. Nothing is too much trouble and they have all made time and effort to engage with Mum and get to know her. Settling in has been a little difficult for Mum after we lost our dad last year. They had been inseparable for over 60 years so living in a new home has been very strange for her but she is growing to love it. There have been so many activities already for her to take part in and she has enjoyed having her hair and nails done. We are always made very welcome when we visit and they have made what could have been a traumatic time so much easier to cope with.
I cannot recommend Park Grove enough! The care and love they provide to my grandad is outstanding and puts our whole family's mind at ease, knowing he is so well looked after. All the staff are absolutely amazing and always go above and beyond. I’m so grateful for everything they do for him and so happy we chose Park Grove as his new home. Thank you!
We are so pleased to have discovered Park Grove and that our dad has been welcomed so warmly into the Park Grove family. We had looked at several care facilities in the area, and Park Grove is the unique stand-out. The manager and her whole team are incredible. Nothing is too much trouble, and they act promptly. They are so caring and kind to all the residents and always very cheery and welcoming to everybody who visits. A team member is always there to greet us, and we are always offered refreshments. Dad was very apprehensive about moving to residential care. He loves company and likes to sing. We all knew as soon as we went to visit Park Grove that this was the place for him. There is a true family atmosphere, and the care he is receiving is excellent. The food is very good and freshly cooked. The activities coordinator and all the staff ensure that there is plenty for the residents to do and become involved in. We highly recommend Park Grove.
We were so lucky that Dad was placed in this care home. His social worker found it during the Covid lockdown period when Mum broke her back and was unable to care for Dad at home. We have found it to be an extremely welcoming and happy place with a very lovely staff. It has a good atmosphere. We are always offered a drink when we visit. Dad has dementia but always seems happy, and he responds well to the staff. I would recommend Park Grove to anyone looking for good quality care for a family member.
I have just collected my mother from Park Grove after her week's respite 'holiday'. It was the first time that she had been for respite and we were a little apprehensive but both myself and my mother were very soon put at ease by the staff. She has had a lovely time, the staff have all been so attentive and she has received such excellent care. I have no reservations about recommending Park Grove and Mum wants to go back for another 'holiday'.
Can not fault the staff at Park Grove. They have been amazing. My mum has Alzheimer's/dementia. She has been attending daycare, and the staff have been so supportive. The manager has gone above and beyond to help and support us. My family will be forever grateful.
My wife has been at Park Grove for a year now after she fell and broke her ankle which then had an impact on her Alzheimer's. Recently my wife fell and broke her hip in her room. The staff were incredible in dealing with her, getting an ambulance and looking after her in A&E until she was handed over. She has had a hip replacement and is now recovering at Park Grove and I just want to thank the staff for the care and help she is receiving. The fall and operation have worsened her dementia, so she is struggling to recall what happened and is very confused. The staff are so patient and kind and are always smiling and cheerful with a great sense of humour that helps me, my wife and my family deal with such a difficult situation. This is a truly wonderful place with very special people running it.
My nan has been in Park Grove since October 2022, I cannot fault this home one single bit. The staff look after her so well and go over and above to meet all of her needs and wants. My nan gets on well with all the staff and has her own jokes with them all. She is always smiling around them and I couldn’t ask for anything more. As well as the amazing work they do for my nan, the staff are witty-humoured, chatty and kind to us (the family) as well. This makes visiting my nan very enjoyable.
My mother came to Park Grove in December 2021 and she passed away in December 2022, she was here exactly twelve months to the day and the hour. She never settled in the previous home and as soon as Covid was over we moved her here. We met the staff and had a look around, it has the most comfortable atmosphere and I felt at home instantly. The first impressions were it was lovely and clean and smelled fresh and then they were cooking lunch and that smelled good too. All the staff were happy. So we chose a room and booked her in to stay. Two weeks later we picked Mum up and put her in the car and headed to Park Grove telling Mum she was going on holiday, she had dementia and Alzheimer's so it wasn't an easy trip. She was met at the door by the staff and she went in, had a cup of tea and never looked back. She was given a room and it was lovely, Mum slept for three days, so obviously she was comfortable. She never once asked to go home. Within the 12 months, she was very ill and they built her up when she first arrived and again after a few months and a trip to the hospital, returning very poorly. They worked hard to get her up again, she had multiple struvite-infected kidney stones and on her third hospital trip returned home to be made comfortable. She was made very comfortable and put in a huge room with two chairs for visitors when confined to her room and a TV playing music all the time. Staff and other residents came to see her often. One staff member gave Mum what she's always wanted 'lovely nails'. She spent a lot of time on them the day before Mum passed away. One worry was she would pass away on her own in her room. Not at Park Grove. Her main carers had a hand each, I was there along with all the staff working at the time, there was a room full of people who cared. The staff were wonderful. I will always be grateful for being pointed in that direction. A big thanks to all staff.
My mum was taken here from hospital after breaking her hip in November. From the moment I made the initial enquiry phone call to the care home manager, and my husband and I having a meeting with her where she put my mind at rest explaining how Mum would be cared for, everything has been excellent. Park Grove is a lovely, clean, friendly care home with wonderful caring staff and management. You are always greeted with a friendly smile. I would highly recommend Park Grove.
My father-in-law was taken here for respite care after a stay in hospital. He liked it so much that he decided he wanted to live there full-time (we were already in the process of looking for a care home with him). The staff and management are absolutely brilliant with him, even on his more 'difficult' days, and we are so grateful to all of them for giving us peace of mind, knowing he is safe. The meals that are prepared are healthy and there is always a choice. Activities are fun and families are always welcome to go and join in with their loved ones. The whole place feels like an extended family, even the families of the other residents. All in all, I would highly recommend Park Grove to anyone who is looking for somewhere safe, kind and family orientated for their loved ones.
In her final days, my dear mother was in need of 24-hour palliative care. At very short notice, Park Grove Residential Home provided accommodation and the associated care and attention that made mum’s final days as comfortable as possible. Thanks go to all the staff; I will be forever grateful.
Park Grove admitted my mother for end-of-life care at very short notice. The home had previously accommodated her for convalescence after a stay in hospital. The management and staff were excellent on both occasions. I cannot recommend Park Grove highly enough.
Mum In law came twice at very short notice. Once for respite after a hospital stay for rehabilitation. Once for end of life care. Park Grove was amazing on both occasions and accommodated mum in law's needs and wishes. The staff were always cheery and kind and very helpful to us allowing us to be able to talk to mum in law on the phone when we couldn't visit her. She commented that the staff were lovely, the food was good and everywhere was very clean. Covid precautions were all in place. The staff were wonderful with end of life care, which was especially reassuring. Our thanks to all staff and the manager for her support and help at such a difficult time. We would highly recommend Park Grove.
Park Grove provided truly excellent care, on both respite care and subsequently on end-of-life care bases. All the staff we met and/or contacted by telephone and online were first-class. That applied to those who provided the face-to-face care and the managerial and admin staff concerned. Park Grove itself is a clean, light and airy building set back from the road and with good parking. More important, it is a welcoming place. The staff were not only keen and clearly efficient. They were invariably upbeat and cheerful during the ''respite'' periods and caring, compassionate and considerate throughout. Nothing was ever too much trouble. Other very positive comments are reflected in the universal ''Five Star'' ratings given. The family recommend Park Grove wholeheartedly and unreservedly.
My aunty came into respite for two weeks in view in the future to go into permanent care. She loved it so much she didn’t want to go back to her flat and has now agreed to stay in the home permanently. I have not seen her look so happy relaxed and content for such a long time. That is due to the brilliant care from the Matron and the staff who always have a smile and chat easily to the clients and members of their families that visit. My Aunty loves the food, attention, the company and is in a lovely newly decorated room. I am so pleased I took her there. I can’t thank them enough.
My mum came to Park Grove in December 2017 and it was her 'home' from that point. The care provided was second to none. Nothing was ever too much trouble and there was an obvious great rapport between my mum and all the staff. They were her family. During lockdown when we were unable to visit, we knew my mum was in safe hands and we didn't have to worry. Unfortunately, in September, my mum's health started to deteriorate following a stroke, but the staff kept going, providing such a high standard of care and attention. My mum was at Park Grove for almost 5 years and I can honestly say she couldn't have been anywhere better. The friendliness, warmth, cleanliness, food, activities and atmosphere make this a home the owners and staff should be proud of.
