View Full Details of Sandy Brook House Care CentreGood clean care and personal facilities are provided with respect at all times. Good food and care provided by all management and care staff.
My mother is well looked after by all staff. All her needs are met. All the staff have a good understanding of the needs of a person, who is suffering from Alzheimer's which my mother has. She is very happy in the home, which is very important to me and the other members of her family.
Had my first visit to Sandybrook to see my uncle, who has been a resident there for the past year. My uncle has no family in the UK, and virtually no visitors, so just hoped that he was being well looked after. I was absolutely delighted to see how well he is doing. The staff that I met on the day were really lovely and very attentive to my uncle's needs. The facility itself looked very clean. I spent most of the visit in the large day room with my uncle but also got to see his bedroom. His bedroom was basic but functional, with a private bathroom. I noticed that his clothes were neatly stored. I got the opportunity to speak with some staff, and I was delighted to hear about upcoming plans to implement new activities for the residents, including live entertainment, gardening, and day trips, (was told that there's an upcoming trip to Blackpool in June). It appears to be a well-managed care home, and it was clear that my uncle was very happy there. Thank you.
Lovely place. My friend was here for four months, and she got good care from the staff. The staff are lovely and available when needed. Activities could be improved apart from that I’m happy with the experience here. Food is presented nicely, and management seems very enthusiastic.
Terrible place, residents are left to wander aimlessly all day, and there are no activities for them. My mother was stuck there for two months of hell. The majority of her clothes vanished into thin air. Food was only edible while I was there, otherwise, it was a sandwich or mash and gravy. Medication is non-existent, I only presume they can't be bothered to hand it out. Filthy garden is used only by staff for fag breaks. Management uses bullying tactics if you complain and their head office ignores you. Seen the supervisor eating the resident's food, and actually recorded it for proof. Window frames are broken in my mother's ground floor room, unable to close them, anyone could get in. Security was a joke, they gave me the codes to get in and out on the 2nd visit as they couldn't be bothered to come open the doors. I have no idea how this place is allowed to operate.
My mum became a resident at Sandy Brook December 2019 which was such a heartbreaking move for our family but we knew she needed 24-hour care. The day we took her was one of the worst days of mine and my father's lives but the staff at Sandy Brook were just amazing. They had so much compassion and understanding that it put us at some sort of peace that we were doing the right thing. Since then they have shown her nothing but love and care. It has been a tough year this year with COVID-19 but all the team have gone above and beyond to keep not just my mum but everyone's loved ones safe. My dad and I can not thank them enough for all everything thing they do.
I would like to thank all the staff at Sandy Brook for the brilliant care they give my mum. Over the last six weeks its been so hard not seeing her or being able to give her a cuddle, but I know she's being looked after. I owe the staff my life for all you do for her, being able to video call her is brilliant.
Mum always looked well cared for. When we were taking Mum out Mum was always well dressed, hair done and makeup. Rooms were very tidy and clean. Excellent care by all the staff and very welcoming to us all. Concerns. Activities - seems to be a lack of these, though I know these tasks are very arduous to carry out. Food/Meals - It would be an idea to have the daily menu written on the whiteboard in the dining room.
My mum is challenging and has always been someone who misses meals. She has Alzheimer's and after a hip operation, cannot look after herself independently. Sandy Brook staff have welcomed my mum into their home and her mobility has improved. She is treated well and I know she would rather be in her own home but this is impossible. My mum has put on weight and I believe Sandy Brook is doing an excellent job of looking after her. I visited several other homes before deciding on Sandy Brook and am extremely happy to have chosen it. Staff are caring, understanding and no push-over where my mum is concerned.
I go to see my mum regularly at least once a week. She's always well presented, clean and tidy which is nice to see. Her hair and nails are always done too. The staff are friendly, obliging and always welcoming at any part of the day. We are always offered refreshments and taken to a more private area so we can interact with mum. We have no concerns about how my mum is being cared for which is a considerate weight off our shoulders. Would we recommend? Yes, we would.
I am very pleased with the care my Mother receives at Sandy Brook. She is treated with dignity, respect and affection. Staff are all extremely caring, helpful and positive and I can visit any time and I am made welcome. The home is clean, warm and has recently been decorated to a very high standard by the staff who try to make it homely and comfortable. I think the staff should all have a pay rise (and a medal!) for their hard work, dedication and long hours.
The staff go above and beyond the call of duty and are some of the kindest people I've ever encountered in my life. Unlike a lot of the homes I visited, at Sandy Brook you are greeted by fresh smells and an extremely clean environment. The decor is modern and beautiful with wooden floors and leather sofas and there is a peaceful atmosphere. My grandma is very well cared for and she seems as content as she could be given the circumstances.
We are always made welcome when we visit - which is most days. The home is always clean and tidy and fresh smelling. The staff are always friendly and caring, and patient with the residents (even when they are being difficult). The management are always available to chat with you about any concerns you may have and, are easy to talk to. Rooms are always clean and tidy and the food is always good and home cooked with a good choice. We would not hesitate to recommend the home to family and friends, and indeed have done in the past.
A very caring home with excellent food and caring staff. There is always someone to answer any queries we have. Overall our family is very happy with the care that my mother gets. I would have no hesitation in recommending this home to others and in fact have done so.
The staff are always very helpful and I feel very happy with how settled my dad is.
