View Full Details of Elmsdene Care HomeI requested this care home for my father due to it being highly recommended and he as been resident here since December 2023. All his care needs are being extremely well met and I am extremely impressed by some of the staff members that go the extra mile. The building itself is spacious and homely and residents appear to be well cared for. My dad enjoys all his meals and also enjoys having chats with his peers and the staff that care for him. Thank you for looking after my father so well I think he has found an home for life.
I just wanted to thank everyone at Elmsdene for their kindness and care of my husband, he was there for only a short time before he sadly passed but the way he was cared for was marvellous, nothing was too much trouble, they always made sure he was happy, they made sure he ate which was not easy as he always said he wasn't there, was always someone there to chat with him when he got unsettled and was wondering about. I was grateful because I knew he was safe under their care. So thank you, I know you did everything you could for him.
My mum has been a resident at the Elmsdene since April 2023. My dad and I are more than happy with the care she receives, and she has settled in really well. The management and staff are so caring and lovely. It's always very clean and the food is very nice. We would more than recommend the Elmsdene. We can't thank them enough for all their care and hard work.
My mum has now escaped from Elmsdene. On 27 March 2024, Mum moved to an outstanding care home. She has not looked back since and I thank God that after months of wrangling and hostility, the manager finally threw my mum out after I had the temerity to send a detailed report on the very poor care she was receiving to the Care Quality Commission. When we finally got mum to the new home, we discovered that the cruelty inflicted on her was even worse than I had imagined. Elmsdene forced Mum to recline with her feet dangling in the air in a "specialist" chair insisting that her core was so weak she could not sit up. She was fed by a silent member of staff sticking a spoon into her mouth until she had eaten up. Now at almost 99 years of age, Mum is sitting up normally with her feet firmly on the floor and feeding herself. She is benefiting from a quality of life she never experienced under the manager's regime.
My mother has been in Elmsdene for 3 years now, I am extremely happy with the care she's gets. My father was in a nursing home and we hated it, nowhere nearly as good as Elmsdene. The staff are just great and great with me mother. The Managers are excellent at their work. Would recommend Elmsdene Care Home. Keep up the great work guys!
It's my mum's funeral today. She spent her last year at Elmsdene. The home is totally abysmal. No stimulation at all for the residents. They just sit there rocking and staring at the wall. The commandant in charge hasn't a bone of care in her body. I believe I was fobbed off with my mum's medical care. The place according to quality of care is rated 'inadequate' and in my view should be closed down. All my mum wanted was to sit out in the garden. Impossible as it was strewn with rubbish and weeds. The staff, although very nice, could hardly speak a word of English. Please don't let your loved ones spend the final days of their life in the hovel.
My father has been at Elmsdene Care Home for many years. It was quite recently been taken over by another company. The new manager has been so helpful and informative regarding my father's care and mental well-being. The manager is always easy to get hold of and is responsive to my calls and emails. The rest of the Elmsdene care team is always brilliant and always keeps me in the loop with what’s happening with my dad. I live a long distance from the care home. I would recommend Elmsdene and I cannot thank them enough for caring for my dad on a day-to-day basis and being responsive to his very individual and unique health and care needs.
