View Full Details of Princess Alexandra HomeThis is the second un-announced visit to my mother, and as in my previous comments in February of this year, nothing has changed! I arrived in reception at 0900hrs after my flight from Turkey, asked the staff if my Bed was ready!!!!!!!!!!!! received the usual warm welcome. Mother was enjoying her nice breakfast in her room, watching the TV. Your standards are excellent. Thank you once again
My mother moved here earlier this year. The atmosphere is cheerful, friendly and homely. The rooms, individual and communal, are bright, modern and clean. Many of the staff have been here for years and they know the residents and their families really well. It's a lovely place for relatives to visit their loved ones with comfortable lounges and garden/outside area. My mother especially likes the food!
I visit my mum on a regular basis at different times of the day and evening and I observe most aspects of the home. I can honestly say this is a lovely place to be. The residents are so well looked after and treated with the utmost respect and dignity When you enter the reception area, you are greeted with a warm welcome from the staff in the office and they are always approachable. The rooms are lovely and are kept exceptionally clean as are the other areas of the home. I have been into the dining room and I can honestly say the food is lovely, the atmosphere is lovely. All the staff are lovely and speak to the residents and the residents speak to each other. The staff make sure there is sufficient entertainment for the residents and on occasions, I have stayed and joined in which isn’t a problem. I feel confident that my mum is being cared for and looked after in the way both she and myself would want. “Would I recommend “Princess Alexandra?" definitely, it is a lovely care home.
This care home is exceptional in that as soon as you enter the premises, it feels very welcoming. Unlike many other homes I have visited, it does not smell in any way of wee. The staff are very helpful and nothing is too much trouble. Everywhere is spotless and the facilities and events scheduled each week are a great entertainment for all the residents. I cannot fault this home and have been in several in the area that do not measure up to this home's standards.
Following a diagnosis of MND, my mother-in-law was looking for a bathing service, we were recommended to Princess Alexandra Home and were thoroughly impressed with what they offered. From the moment you enter its light and bright, the staff go the extra mile to ensure you are looked after and that your dignity is respected. We were more than happy to pass on this recommendation to others.
Whilst staying at this care home my friend broke her wrist and was found in her room without slippers and no light on. She also developed an un-gradeable pressure sore on her coccyx, which has required district nurse attention on a daily basis since (17 days) and also twenty-four-hour nursing care, both of which are ongoing.
