View Full Details of Burntwood Hall Care CentreHad been told of the reputation of the facility as being good. The care my wife received at Burntwood Hall Care Centre far exceeded any expectations I'd had before her stay. Cannot praise highly enough the level of care and the facility in general.
I cannot begin to say what a wonderful place this is, homely, caring, lovely surroundings, the staff are very caring, going the extra mile to make my uncle feel at home, picking up his daily paper, trying to encourage him to join in activities, having birthday celebrations, bingo, crafting (he declined but the opportunity was there if wanted). It's a lovely place, I wouldn't hesitate to recommend to anyone.
My uncle settled in very quickly after moving from another care home, it suits him down to the ground, he is now safe, clean, well-fed and much happier than he has been in recent years. This is down to the staff that have sometimes gone over and beyond to keep him content. I would thoroughly recommend this home for anyone having the difficult choice of placing an elderly relative in care.
I feel confident that my brother is safe and well cared for at Burntwood Hall Care Centre. He seems as happy as he can be under his circumstances and I feel that is because of the care and attention he is given by all the excellent carers. One negative thing I would say is that access to the garden area is impossible for my brother as there are no paths on the grassed area. This would be advantageous to all.
My brother settled well at Burntwood Hall Care Centre and I feel that this was achieved by the excellent care given to him by his carers. He is encouraged and listened to when he is having a bad day and reassurance is given in a kind and considerate manner. As he is confined to a chair, it would be advantageous if there were some concrete paths on the lawned areas to allow him access to outside, giving him a change of scenery and much-needed fresh air for his well-being as he is unable to be taken out of the building by relatives.
My mother has been a resident at Burntwood Hall Care Centre for fifteen months and I must say, it's a very welcoming and friendly home. She has made friends easily and joins in with all the activities. Family can visit at any time, there is also a well-attended coffee morning on Thursday. A lovely, friendly, safe home.
Coffee morning activity is excellent, very inclusive, help when needed, good atmosphere.
My wife moved here a year ago after a temporary stay in a previous home. We now have a wheelchair-accessible vehicle so I can take her shopping and to our home, but she is always content to return to Burntwood. Given this is an old building, we both agree care and facilities are excellent, as far as is practicable. An experienced cook recently left so inevitably the new cook is on a learning curve, this is only to be expected. Otherwise, everything else remains excellent.
I cannot praise the manager and every member of staff at Burntwood Hall enough for the excellent care given to my friend. The difference seen in him is remarkable, his quality of life has improved immensely from when he was at home. He has told me he is much happier and is kept free of pain. Their end of life care is exceptional, I couldn't ask for more. The home is a true credit for its cleanliness and it's truly caring and well-trained staff. Visitors are always made really welcome. The home is beautifully decorated for their Christmas celebrations.
My Sister and I were told we had 5 days to find somewhere for our mum to go into respite as she wasn't allowed to go back to her flat as she needed 24hr care. Burntwood Hall was the only place we visited as the staff were very friendly and welcoming we totally fell in love with the place. Mum only did 12 weeks there before she died, the care she received was above and beyond any care I've ever known. I can't thank them enough for making our mum's last weeks memorable not just for her but for our family. The support we received as a family from all the staff has been amazing. Nothing is too much trouble for this care home, we will recommend it to anyone who is looking for somewhere to put their loved ones. Thank you Burntwood Hall.
Mam had to move from rehab after a period of time in hospital. Home was very good in assessment and in settling Mam into her new surroundings. Room has been made her own by items brought from home, but spends more time in the social lounge, which is warm, wood-panelled with period features of it being Burntwood Hall. Staff very good in looking after her needs. Dining room has lovely views over to the moor and the hall gardens.
From the day I arrived the management and staff have been first class, nothing is not any trouble. The food is very good and always have a choice of 2 meals at dinner time. The room are kept spotless, the gardens are kept very good and is a nice and pleasant walk.
I am extremely happy with Burntwood Hall Care Home. I was very worried about my dad initially being admitted into the home but needn't have been concerned. Since being here my dad's physical health has improved considerably. He has Alzheimer's but the staff have always shown empathy and respect to him. My only concern has been my dad's ability to lose things! He doesn't seem to be able to hold onto his glassed, teeth or hearing aid! The food is excellent and the staff always ensure that dad's appetite is satisfied. Consequently, he has gained weight again. The staff encourage dad to participate in activities although he is often reluctant.
My mum suffered a stroke and needed a change of scene. Mum was dropped off on Monday morning. The staff were lovely. Mum was made to feel welcome. Her room was pleasant, clean and well maintained. Mum was very happy with all aspects of the home. The food was freshly cooked every day and there was always a choice. I have no hesitation in recommending Birchwood Hall care Centre.
It is difficult to put into words how thankful we are as a family for the care my dad received at Burntwood. From the very first assessment home visit to dads last moments, the staff treated us all with care and respect. Dad wants, needs and dignity were always their first priority. There is a real family feel about the home. It is a testament to the recruitment of staff and how they work together as a team. They manage to combine professionalism with caring making a wonderfully happy and homely atmosphere. All the staff cared for dad as if he were their own, and we came to feel like we were leaving him with family. Burntwood was a home from home for him. We couldn't believe how well he settled from the moment he became a resident, giving us peace of mind which we never thought we would have. The thoughtfulness and empathy that the staff showed us in his last few days will always stay with us. Their warmth and compassion helped us through this difficult time. As a family, we cannot recommend Burntwood more highly.
Had a few issues but all addressed promptly and satisfaction.
Excellent, my brother has improved immensely since he came here and is very happy. The careworkers are extremely kind and patient.
Mum suffered a complex leg injury and the hospital wanted to discharge her. Her needs were high. Many care homes turned her down. The day after I contacted Burntwood Hall, the deputy manager came to the hospital to meet us and completed a full detailed assessment, accepted her and arranged her transfer. I was so nervous. All the staff spent time getting to know us and mum, and settling her in, easing our worries. When professional help was needed, they involved the district nurses and GP services, to try and keep mum as comfortable, safe and healthy as possible. The atmosphere in the home is lovely and homely, the staff seem happy and the residents appear well looked after. It's a beautiful home in many ways. Beautiful surroundings.
I volunteer with my small dog to add a different experience for the residents in the care centre. The staff are very kind and there appears to be a real connection with the residents.
Nothing is too much trouble whenever we have had any questions or queries. We have been made to feel as if my dad is the only resident at Burntwood Hill. The exceptional circumstances that we encountered five days after dad went into care at Burntwood Hall have been handled by all with the utmost care, professionalism and great assistance by all the staff there for which we are extremely grateful.
