View Full Details of Dignity Residential Care HomeThe last year has been difficult for all, residents, staff members and families alike. However, this year has seen an easing of restrictions that have enabled families to have greater contact with their loved ones while still applying care following the Care Home Covid Policy to ensure that everyone remains as safe as possible. The management and staff members have yet again excelled in the level of care that they deliver to our relatives on a daily basis, delivering interesting daily activities to keep everyone occupied during some testing times. All at Dignity Residential, without exception, deserve my heart felt thanks for the professional and dedicated service delivery to all of our relatives under their care. This is truly a Flagship Care Home within our local area and deserves every recognition for excellence.
Dignity Residential Care Home has been life-changing for my mom. After an initial poor experience with Mom's first care home and then a much worse experience with her second one and having initially checked out at least a dozen care homes around the Barnsley area we were really impressed with Dignity straight away, with its smaller size; just 12 residential places and it's genuinely warm caring feel. So when a place became available my sister and I jumped at the chance to move Mom there. The difference in Mom since she moved in, in November 2021, has been like night and day. It's been a joy to see how much she loves the staff and how calm and safe she feels there. I can honestly say that knowing she is now not just safe, but accepting and happy with her new home, is priceless for me too. To all of the staff at Dignity...thank you, it means more than words can say.
My mum was bereaved and struggling and had been in two care homes in a month before arriving at Dignity. She only wanted to be in her own home but that was impossible due to her circumstances, her attitude was very negative to being anywhere else. Dignity changed all that, or should I say the manager and all of the team there made her happier and settled and cared for. I couldn’t be happier with her care and how Mum has responded to it. She loves everyone who works there and I feel that I can rest easy, knowing that she is happy and settled.
Really happy with the care my Auntie gets at the home and the efforts the staff make to ensure that the residents remain healthy. The staff are friendly and like a big family. My Auntie always talks about things they have done. January is her birthday and they bought her gifts and had made a fuss of her... something family can't do at the moment.
A very homely atmosphere and very clean in all aspects. The staff are caring and tentative. The residents want for nothing and are well fed at mealtime and between. My mother has been in there for over 2 years and she enjoys every minute.
The staff are incredible their care and dedication at all times is amazing but during the Pandemic they have been true heroes, taking care of our loved ones whilst we haven't been able to visit, they have been our eyes and ears on making sure our family members are looked after and taking all the necessary ways they can to keep us informed (Facebook page is a lifeline for us to see them). My mum has been there since it opened and we couldn't have made a better choice of a place that she can now call home, and that is loved by some fantastic people, well love them all and couldn't thank them enough for what they do.
Dignity is like a home from home. The manager and staff are very welcoming. Food is fantastic and home-cooked. The carers do exercises and activities with the residents. During lockdown last year when we weren't allowed to visit the manager and staff set up a Facebook page and put videos on there so that we could see our relatives. When lockdown eased in August they set up a gazebo outside with a table and chairs so that we could book an hour's appointment with our relative so long as we kept 2 meters away. They have recently built a conservatory for relatives to visit their relatives however the latest government lockdown prevented this. Dignity couldn't do any more for their residents and their families. I have already recommended Dignity to friends and neighbours.
The care home is an all-round charm! Ensuring the residents are looked after, to making sure they feel as comfortable as possible and having such a good laugh! Games and activities are always happening. Online carol service, parties, cheeky pub nights! The residents and the team are such a blessing to have close to someone I love so dearly.
What an amazing care home - the staff and manager are fantastic always kept in the loop and informed of any updated info. The Coronavirus has been such a terrible time for families. The care home has put videos of residents' activities during the day the carers are exceptional and set up mums Facebook portal every night so we can see her and have a chat. The love, patience and care has given our family peace of mind in this very difficult time. If you ever want a care home to look after your precious family member, look no further the only care home I would trust to care for my lovely mum!
I was looking for somewhere for my mum to have some respite care and Dignity Residential Care Home was recommended to me. I contacted DRCH to discuss this and they suggested bringing mum over for lunch to see the facilities. We were greeted at the door by very friendly staff and shown around DRCH. Having never visited before myself I wasn't sure what to expect and wow it was amazing. We were shown all of the facilities and met some of the other residents. I think mum was a bit overwhelmed by how modern the home was whilst still having a very home from home feel. Mum's lunch order was taken and we sat in one of the lounges chatting with one of the residents. At lunchtime, a CD of classic tunes was put on and mum was happily singing along to the songs whilst she was having her lunch. Everyone was so friendly and the staff couldn't have been more helpful. Mum enjoyed her 'taster' visit so much she is now asking when she is booked in for!
My Grandma has been in this care home for a number of weeks following a fall. I was surprised on my first visit of how modern and homely the home was. This isn't a large establishment and I think that works to its advantage, it feels like a home from home with spacious rooms. My Grandma is thriving during her stay, the staff really are wonderful and so caring towards all the residents. My Grandma can be a fussy eater but nothing is too much trouble and there are always a number of options if she doesn't like what's on the menu - the homemade buns usually sway her too! Its great to see both the staff and residents being involved with different activities. During Easter, the residents made Easter bonnets and received a gift on Easter Sunday, during the recent Royal Wedding had their own party - wonderful to see. This really is a caring, well run residential care home, the support from the manager is great too, nothing is too much trouble for the residents or family members.
I have nothing but praise for this Care Home. All of the staff - and I do mean ALL of them - are absolutely fantastic. They are patient, kind, friendly, professional yet approachable, knowledgeable and, as their name suggests, they treat all of their residents with dignity at all times. As the daughter of one of their present residents, it has been such a relief (to me) to leave my Mum's care in the hands of such capable people. I truly know that my Mum is receiving the very best of care and being treated with the respect that she deserves. The surroundings are lovely, the home itself is efficiently run and immaculately clean and, according to my Mum, the food is marvellous with the best Sunday lunches EVER. I would recommend this home to anyone in need of such services.
