View Full Details of Royal Court Care HomeMy sisters and I have been to quite a few events organised by the home. We are always made to feel welcome. We can see that Mum is happy and cared for really well. We are pleased photos can be seen on social, so we know what goes on. We feel happy that Mum is in safe hands and loved.
The carers are excellent, they are kind and understanding. They treat him with dignity and that is so important to us as well as him. I haven't commented on activities as my husband doesn't take part or join in, through no fault of the staff. He has never joined in or been sociable.
I am extremely happy with the care my mother receives at Royal Court, the staff are kind and helpful and the food is excellent. I do not worry about her as she is in safe hands.
A family member was placed in this care home and didn't get any of his needs met, there were a lot of hygiene issues which had a massive impact on his health and mental health. There was no care or understanding regarding his needs and support. At times some carers even had to be prompted to clean him as he had been left weeks without a shower and also a lot of times was left in his own excrement. There were no activities carried out during the 3 months he was in this care home except for one at Christmas. There were some carers who were caring and did try their best but there were a few who didn't care and just left the residents and didn't really make much effort with any of the residents. I would not recommend this home at all.
1st of all I noticed my partner's feet really bad, which we took photographs of because they looked really bad and unclean. We told staff about this who didn't seem professional about it and left us to clean him down. I asked when he last had a shower and in the 4 weeks he'd spent there by that time. He had not been showered. After this incident, the carers stepped up and my partner was looking cleaner, his feet were also healing as we were seeing to them daily. This was detrimental to my partner's health to move him from pillow to post. I decided to let this ride as the carers had stepped up a lot. However, after reviews had gone out he was starting to be neglected badly. There were wet and messed up clothes just slung in his wardrobe, his room stunk vile and he was left raging and confused. This has had a massive impact on his health because since leaving he has improved dramatically and the staff at his new home love the kind gentle man he is.
The more experienced staff who have been there a long time are absolutely wonderful, so caring, very approachable and friendly to the family. The only problems I have with Royal Court is not always answering the phone or the door in a timely manner. The only other thing is the lack of activities to keep residents' minds active and a lack of any type of physical activity (armchair exercises for example). I would like to be able to make a drink like we used to be able to do.
I really cannot fault Royal Court, my mum has been in there for the last 4 weeks and just come home this afternoon. The management and staff are so knowledgeable about the residents and are extremely friendly and accommodating. On visiting my mum, I was always made to feel welcome. I was allowed to take my mum out at weekends with no restrictions on times etc. The food and activities are also very good. If my mum has to go in a home full time, I would choose Royal Court as would she. I really appreciate what a tough job the staff do, I certainly couldn't do it and yet they all do it with such good humour and care.
I am very satisfied with all aspects of the care home. It was clean and tidy and the staff are friendly and helpful. The personal bedroom is clean and comfortable.
My dad was referred to Royal Court Care Home after a fall for respite care in March 2023. The staff at the home were and are brilliant, they looked after him like he was their own father. I have nothing but admiration for them and for all they do. Sadly my dad passed away in the home on 2 May 2023 and the night staff on duty looked after myself and my family members.
The staff are friendly, they see to my wife's needs and keep her safe. I have no complaints, nothing is ever a problem.
My mum has been in the home for a couple of years now and on every visit the staff are always happy and willing to help. The visiting area is always clean and bright which makes the visit better as I have 2 children that I bring with me to visit. I think the only thing that is missing is an open courtyard so family members could sit in the garden with their relative on nice days and get some fresh air and a change of scenery. Once Mum accepted that Royal Court was now her home she settled in well and appears much happier. She is clean and well cared for. Mum used to fall a lot but as a family we have peace of mind that should this happen the staff are there 24/7 to help and care for her which is a big relief.
Cannot fault the care home, staff are amazing for what they have to do, kept up to date with any changes and her well-being. The rooms are clean, food is to a good standard and will allow you to take food in and are willing to cook it.
My mother has recently become a permanent resident at Royal Court. So far this has been a good experience. The whole building is user-friendly, clean, light and airy. Everyone is approachable and very hardworking. They have great patience and consideration for the residents and try to keep the people in their care cheerful.
Mum has been a resident for one year now and we have never doubted that she us being well cared for in every way. She is happy, clean and well-dressed every time we visit. The staff are always polite and professional. Mum's room can be checked anytime and it is always clean and tidy.
We were invited to the Christmas Party at Royal Court on Thursday 15 December. It was lovely to see Mum with the other residents and staff together. It was a very pleasant 2 hours with Mum joining in and singing along to the very capable singer. The buffet and drinks were most enjoyable Mum had her fill. Overall a great time a so lovely to see Mum singing and joining in.
My brother was moved into Royal Court in Hoyland following hospital spells and care at home, sadly my brother passed away whilst in the care of Royal Court. The love, care, compassion and professionalism that was shown to my brother and myself during the four days and nights was outstanding and perfect, the staff are truly angels in uniform
While my husband was a resident in Royal Court he was in very capable hands. He really got to know his carers and had many happy moments with them. After spending a few years having respite care with them he was very happy to spend most of his remaining time at Royal Court and I was comforted in knowing he was happy there. I cannot praise the staff enough for their care of my husband.
I had an enjoyable afternoon in the garden having a sing-along, entertainment very good. Mum is happy and well looked after. Thank you everybody for looking after Mum.
Was lovely to see my grandma in the pod. She said the food is very good, especially the bacon sandwiches for breakfast. The staff were really nice. One particular lady was lovely and really helpful. Thank you for looking after my grandma so well.
My mum has been a resident here for 3 years and the care she has received has been excellent. She has dementia and has received good care whilst her health has declined. During the pandemic, it was good to know that she was well looked after while I could not visit. A big thanks to all the staff.
